Great food and drinks, friendly staff, and unique atmosphere. Looks like a nightclub inside, but don’t let that fool you. The VB3 Burger is incredible, and they have a great selection of cocktails. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

We get a delivery every so often because we love their wings. I’ve tried other dishes and I’ve been pretty disappointed. Today, I tried their beet salad and was completely dissatisfied(barely any goat cheese & only two nut pieces, $ 13 for what?!). My grandma pizza slice was cold and hard upon delivery. Definitely not worth the wait.

I think the pizzas are okay. Nothing great or anything. Ive had the margherita and buffalo. Both were okay. Have I had better? Yes, but theres really nothing wrong with their pizza. My only issue is the ambience. Its too outta control. I’d rather do takeout than dine in.

The food is here ok-good, it was my go to quick lunch pick-up spot when I was in the area once a week until today. The service here has always been average but today… the lady cashing everyone out is sneezing every few seconds, blowing her nose constantly then grabbing my credit card with her hand that her snot rag is still in. Not only that but she visibly has a fever and is wiping down her face with a wet cloth to keep cool and remove constant excessive sweat(it was pretty cool temp in the restaurant). HOW do you think it’s ok to have a disgustingly sick person interacting with hundreds of people?!? I will never go back, if this is how they treat their front end cleanliness & neatness I don’t want to know what happens that I can’t see. Absolutely disgusting. I hope no one else caught whatever this lady had.

Love VB3. Ordered for delivery the traditional pizza, chicken parm and Orecchiette Alla Barese. Loved the pizza. Very tasty. A lil salty. Love the chicken parm sandwich. Bread was soft oh and a cucumber salad on the side which was very good as well. Did not like the Orecchiette Alla Barese but i have nothing to compare it to.

I really wanted to like this place… I really did. I’ve heard a lot about this place through social media. Not necessarily good or bad but enough for me to want to go check it out. Essentially from a glance at the menu, it looks like a gourmet pizzeria with certain specialty small dishes and entrees. I came here on a week day after work and it was kind of slow. That was only expected as it was not during peak hours. The place was spacious and the lights were dimly lit. Kind of a sexy vibe for a pizzeria. Not in a romantic way but a loungy way. I couldn’t really make up my mind on what I wanted to order. I decided to not go for the pizza because i glanced over at a table and their pizza did not look very appealing. It just looked like any regular supermarket or elementary cafeteria school lunch pizza. Yes, I judged a book by its cover. My friend ordered the seafood Mac and cheese and I opted for the truffle steak tartare. How can you go wrong with truffle right?! Anyway, I tried my friend’s Mac and cheese and was highly disappointed. To me, it tasted like Kraft with seafood dumped in it. I honestly couldn’t tell if the seafood was fresh or not either. I was just so disappointed because how can you go wrong with Mac and cheese. Now as my steak tartare was coming out, I can smell the faint scent of truffle. I got really ecstatic. As I took a bite of it though, the overwhelming spice was not truffle but either wasabi or horse radish. Had I known that there were either of those ingredients in this dish, I would not have ordered it as I hate wasabi and horse radish. I asked the waiter what additional ingredients were in that dish besides the truffle oil because nothing else was included in the description. He advised that I might’ve tasted the capers or Dijon mustard. I don’t know what I tasted but it was overwhelming enough that I barely tasted the truffle. I mean if an ingredient was that potent in a dish, I would assume it should be mentioned right?!? I really tried to eat it but I couldn’t. I hate to do this but the waiter asked if I wanted to switch my dish out. I thought that was really thoughtful of him and I complied. I decided to go with the arancini. How can you go wrong with that right?! Wrong! The arancini would’ve just been great with cheese in the middle and marinara on the side. Sometimes simple is best. However, it was stuffed with peas! Had I known that, I wouldn’t have ordered that as I hate peas. Also, I didn’t feel that the lemon crème complimented the arancini. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place but 3 out of 3 dishes were not so good. I don’t think I’ll be trying this place for dinner again. I’ll probably go for drinks. I only gave this a two star because the waiter was really nice. He took the arancini off the bill but kept the tartare since it cost more. It was the thought that counts though. Not to mention, I feel the food does not reflect the cost. It’s a little expensive for what it is.

First time we ordered, the pizza was great. Ordered again last night and the bottom of the pizza was burnt. 3 stars because I paid $ 14.00 for burnt pizza.

Ordered a large pizza along with few side dishes for delivery from this restaurant for the first time last weekend for dinner. The food came in an hour and half later at 9:40pm and the pizza was cold. One of the side dishes calamari and shrimp salad was loaded with salt. The pizza was good after being reheated. You are better off eating at the restaurant instead getting the pizza delivered.

I really don’t get this place. Is it a pizza joint, a bar, or a restaurant? Please make up your mind. The food is not bad, in fact had it been cheaper, it would be really a good value. The service has a little attitude, but that’s fine as the place is on the hottest block by the mall in that part of the downtown. They can sure afford that’s Standard bar offerings regarding liquor, beer, wine, and drinks. Nothing to write home abouthome

I held my 21st bday here at VB3… The steak and mashed potatoes were amazing. Since it was my 21st, my first drink was on them. Friendly staff and very accommodating. We had a really great time here.

Our office orders a lot of pizzas for delivery. VB3 is our go-to place. They make a variety of pizzas, and they all do the job. Margherita. Pepperoni. Buffalo Chicken. Plain. Even Hawaiian. Quick delivery, and plenty of plates and napkins. Great service.

Well, I’d like to rate them based on their food, but I never got to taste it, so this is a hangry review about their service. After ordering through their restaurant on Eat24(and giving them a 40% tip), they cancelled my order, saying they were closing early due to weather… but not when I ordered, which I would have been quite understanding of… Instead they waited nearly an hour *after* they received my order to make this decision. Furthermore, I am looking down at their business from my hotel room(they are literally across the street) and their open signs are lighted and somebody is out shoveling their walkway… Eat 24 tried to contact them on my behalf, I tried calling and there was no answer, just the same voicemail menu that rerouted me back to the exact same voicemail menu… Some poor dude was down there going back and forth between their two entrances in the snow and wind trying to get in after I had ordered(I assume to pick up an order) and finally must have reached them via phone after a good 5 minutes… C’mon, people… use your manners and common sense, aka customer service skills… And if you’re going to be closed, just close(weather happens, I get it), but don’t offer a service and then re-neg well after an order has been made…

Went in last night after work to meet up with my girlfriends. They were really accommodating to my group of 6. At the time there wasn’t that many people inside but a good amount, perfect for us to drink and eat and catch up. The food was ok. I ordered the calamari on happy hour which were really good with the spicy mayo. My soror ordered some pizza she said was delicious. They also have truffle fries which I love. The bartender taking care of us was a really nice girl who did a really great job at taking all of our orders. Overall I am very pleased with the place and def plan to return.

Went here for happy hour and the food was pretty decent. I wasn’t a fan of the wings, but the pizza was definitely delicious. Their happy hour menu has decent pricing. Overall had a good experience and our waitress was really attentive.

I like this place, but not everything on the menu is good. Aroncini rice balls were good. Pizza slices were good(tasted like something from a good place across the river.) The«asianey» stuff, not so good. Watch our foe drunks trying to sleep it off in the«boothey» area near the windows during the day.

Be careful in this restaurant — the waiter named Nicholas charged extra on my card. I signed a check for 80.9 $ and got a 90.89 $ charge on my card.

Showed up on a Sunday, dinner time. Dinner was terrible. Ruined product. Ordered 2 different fish plates — both were overcooked beyond«oops». Was told the chef wasn’t there today. The menu doesn’t change all that much, but the kitchen staff is clearly inept to repeat a set of few dishes they make every day. Sad. The affordable red wines were all terrible. Get someone who knows what wine is for a day to help you, please! Waiter was inexperienced or just not very good — hard to tell. TVs were set to sports. Blaring commentary and noise throughout dinner. When asked to turn it down — they refused. Out of 8 ppl at the bar, no one was paying attention to the TVs. So it’s just the staff that is clearly there for entertainment. Unilocal should split the 2 restaurants apart. Pizza place is fine. The actual restaurant needs all new staff. AVOID!!!

Nice atmosphere but service was just horrible. We were seated right away, but it only took over 20 minutes for the waiter to come to us. I had to forcibly make eye contact with him because he was over talking or what seemed to be more like flirting with the girl who worked at the front of the door who sat us down and he still acted like he couldn’t see us. The worse part of it all, was that the place was pretty much empty! When he finally decided to walk over after we were borderline about to walk out, he then asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We could not have taken the chance of him leaving again so we just asked for water and gave him our order. Thankfully, the food came in a timely manner. Had their VB3 burger which was good. Also had their«Roasted Eggplant Meatballs», that however, I was not a big fan of. Not sure if it was the large sizes of eggplant pieces or what exactly but just wasn’t my thing. I can definitely see the place having potential, however, if the service I received is conducted all the time, I can unfortunately foresee its decline. Appears to be more of a bar scenery rather than an actual restaurant. Do not recommend if you are on a time constraint or meeting someone there for the first time.(Can not iterate enough on the lack of service)

This place has yet to get an order of mine right. I usually go with delivery or pickup so I can’t speak to the dining-in experience, but there’s been at least one major mistake every time. I tip generously because i’ve worked in food service before, so it’s not like it’s personal. By «major mistakes» i mean slow delivery or not ready at pickup, a missing item(missing wings, not missing ranch), burned crust, or undercooked meat. all the above happened on my last order, inspiring this review. the simultaneous burned crust with undercooked meats indicates problems with ovens and quality control. I mean, come on guys, it took you an hour to undercook a pizza. You could tell the meat was undercooked by looking at it. I’m already overpaying here. once, they refused to take an order a day early because the hostess thought they opened 90 min later the next day than they actually did. Fine, honest mistake. Eventually she took the order but couldn’t promise they’d meet the delivery time. they opened as advertised the next day and got it ready, but it was still late because the driver sucked. part of me wonders if she didn’t know that was going happen and altered the time accordingly, like a field goal kicker accounts for the wind or a natural hook. At this point, the blame is on me for continuing to order from here.

The food is not great but not the worst. I asked medium well for my burger and they overdid it. the burger and bun were very charred. Guess they didn’t care to serve burnt food. My husband ordered medium and burger came out fine, but still felt the taste was not great. Fries are plain. One positive was the side of onions. I’m giving one star because they automatically charged 20% gratuity and a service fee. I would understand if it’s a big party but it was for 2 people! Not sure if it’s because we had a groupon deal but typically we would leave a great tip anyway for using deals. So basically, there’s no point of having promotions in this restaurant. They’ll find a way to just cancel it out. They obviously need to have a promo because the food and management sucks.

This is a very generous 4, but it’s also including the take-out pizzeria that is the other half of their place, which is pretty damn excellent, and definitely one of the top5 pizza places in Jersey City. Pros: ambiance is nice enough: modern with lots of blacks, whites, and pale blues. Server was nice and attentive. Food was decent. More on that in a bit. Cons: Dunno if it was the groupon or if that’s their norm, but a pre-added 18% tip for a party of one is ridiculous on principal. It’s about what I was going to tip anyway, but don’t do that shit. It makes me not want to patronize your place again. Many options are overpriced. Why get the 10″ plain personal pizza at the restaurant for $ 12 when it’s $ 7.75 at the other half of the place? Kitchen was a little slow for a Saturday lunch with only 6 other tables in the place occupied. The last is kind of nitpicking, but if we’re listing all the good and bad, here we are. Got the steak and eggs, with a side of bacon to get to $ 20 for my groupon. Steak was great, potatoes cooked well, but the scrambled eggs were way too brown and not so much as scrambled, but lazily fried. The side of bacon is huge. You might think 2, 3 maybe 4 slices? Nah. Try 7, 9, 10, I don’t even know. There was more bacon than there was any component of my main dish. Like, a slice to go along with each fingerling half, forkful of eggs and 3 or so for the two pieces of bread. Lotta bacon. The salsa verde was exceptional.

Their food is rather good, not a competition to many local restaurants. I would not say that price to quality ratio is good. The service leaves more to desire. Also it attracts a certain type of crowed that you don’t necessarily want to be around. And it gets particularly bad at night. It’s main advantage is convenient location.

Its a OK ambiance. I preferred sitting in the patio more than in the restaurant. The interior was too jazzy for me. The service is OK. The food is OK but not worth the price. We had ordered pizza and Roasted chicken picatta. The chicken picatta was quite good but I was disappointed with the pizza. I had heard great things about their pizza but it was just disappointing. Food is just OKBUT not at all worth the price. The food is overpriced !

I’m never one to give a horrible review, however, after the service I experienced from this place, I felt this was needed. I’ve been to the actual restaurant numerous times and have always had a great dining experience. This review is about their delivery service. My apartment is less than a mile away from them and it took them over 90mins to get my order delivered. I called the delivery service three times, asking about my order. I got the following responses: 1.) He went to the wrong building, it will be there in a few mins. Mind you, the building the delivery person went to was right next door.* 2.) 20mins later, «It’s out for delivery.» *this shouldn’t have taken 20mins. 3.) After another 20mins, «It’s out for delivery. It will be there shortly.» And then the delivery man finally showed up. Once we opened the boxes, we were in for a lovely surprise. Both pizzas were cold, and the 2nd pizza was incorrect. It wasn’t worth the hassle to call back and get it corrected. In short, don’t use their delivery service. Never ever using them again.

Visiting after 2 years I have to say that their food has improved significantly! The mozzarella and tomato salad was delicious and fresh. Their pizza is also delicious. We got the pepperoni pizza and the sauce and bread was very fresh. We also ordered the Coletti burger and is was very tasty. The beef was juicy and delicious!

Exactly what someone else wrote: a bar trying to be a restaurant. Very meh. The layout and décor are not great. Am I in a bar or lounge or cheap restaurant with bad flooring? It’s like the tackiest of all three combined. The food was not bad. My bf enjoyed his burger and I think the fries even more. My kale and apple salad was DRENCHED in dressing. It did have candied walnuts, but that doesn’t mean my whole salad should taste like it’s coated in syrup. Glad I only came here because of a groupon. Wouldn’t bother buying another one though.

So I should have know better since this place is called a restaurant AND bar… I arrived at 6:45 pm and the bass in this place is off the charts. I managed to come during happy hour times and so cocktails were supposedly only $ 5(although I was charged full price for the cocktail). The food was ok; I ordered mussels with white wine sauce which were very plain and did not have enough flavor, but otherwise was enjoyable enough. My entrée was on the bland side as well. I ordered pork belly confit with sautéed spinach and onions. The presentation was decent but the outside was too hard(the steak knife could barely cut through the skin) and the inside was too dry. Overall the service was pretty decent so I’ll give it 3 stars. I may give it a second chance for their pizza since a lot of other reviews say the pizza was good.
