Out of business. Over the past 16 years we have watched several businesses try to make a go at this location on Whitney Ave… all have failed. Good location, convenient parking… don’t know the root cause.

This place is absurd. I came here to get a drink with my boyfriend and the bartending COMPLETELY ignored us. He told us if we wanted attention«we need to shout». Disgusting business model and severely disappointed with the service.

I’m pretty sure this place is closed. I drive by it pretty regularly and for the past couple weeks it seems shuttered. Edit: Just drove past and it seems they are having a «Tag Sale» next weekend and selling a lot of their restaurant supplies.

The drinks here are awesome. The food is average, but that’s ok. The service was awful. The restaurant was not busy, but my table was ignored. I would revisit because as I said, the drinks were top notch, and everyone has an off day. I hope to raise the star rating next time.

I can barely believe I’m giving this place 4 stars. It almost looks like it’s closed from the road and you see a hodge podge of outdoor seating. Inside is no better as it looks like a run down catering hall. None of this matters though as the vibe is great, people welcoming and food excellent. In search of a new neighborhood place since Mikro treats its regulars poorly, I decided to give this place a try. Tonight I wanted outdoor seating and no fuss food. Loved chilling outside in a relaxed vibe. I was beyond pleasantly surprised when each and every thing I ordered was so well thought out. Eggplant fries come with excellent tomatoe sauce with the right amount of seasonings and fresh basil. Veggie burger was homemade with extra zucchini on top, cheese, aioli sauce on a fresh brioche bun. I chose sweet potatoe fries and could have opted for truffle fries, handmade chips or a bevy of other choices. I’m telling you, the food was stellar. Not a foodie place but good fresh homemade food. Server Leslie was super friendly and kept checking in the right amount of times. Upon leaving I saw they had my favorite Chardonnay Kendall Jackson by the glass, so you know I will be back for that! And they have all day dining hours, which fits my schedule perfectly! I highly recommend.

If you’re not looking for something amazing, you’ll be satisfied when you check this place out. The apps are good, especially the G chips. Everything else is pretty average. I try to come to this bar with an open mind, but they really just think they are more than what they are. The female bartender needs a HUGE attitude adjustment. I can’t believe she’s a bartender still. If you’re a girl under 30, expect to wait at least 30 minutes for her to look your way.

Pleasantly surprised by everything at DeMils. The banner on the front belies on how charming this place is. Really nice bar, plenty of televisions that are not all over the place and distracting, and a variety of beers on draft. I had the zucchini veggie burger and fries and it was delicious. Reasonably priced and a much better alternative to aunchies down the road. My new go to spot after hitting the sleeping giant course.

Visited DeMils for the first time last night. Overall the service was slow, server was inattentive, and food was mediocre at best. The server took quite awhile to acknowledge us, then when she finally did and we ordered drinks, she had to be reminded about the drinks after we waited for 20 minutes. Once we got drinks proceeded to not monitor us for refills and would take away beer or wine glasses that still had liquor left in them. When asked what was on tap the list was read from a list which we were fine with because maybe the server was new. If the server is new or in training though it would be good to establish that so customers can adjust expectations. Were there for restaurant week so we inquired about it and were told it was $ 24 for appetizer, dinner, dessert. Issue being that most of the burgers/plates were $ 12 and appetizers were $ 8 individually, just showing that there wasn’t really a great deal to be had here. Sort of led to false advertising on their end. Once again we waited to order and had to call our waitress over to take our order. All ordered an app and dinner. Food took awhile to come out but looked good. Appetizers were only luke warm but pretty tasty. The dinners followed suit of only being warm and not hot. My burger came out well, most likely because the server didn’t ask what temp I wanted on it. Burger was okay but nothing great. Portions were a generous size. Only 2 of the 4 of us ended up ordering desert which meant only 2 of us participated in the wonderful restaurant week«deal». We server to split the bill between the two couples. When the bill came it was split in half down the middle and we all got charged for the restaurant week meal. Called the manager over and he kindly adjusted the bill to be properly split without issue and adjusted the bill appropriately to not be charged the extra for the restaurant week meals. Atmosphere of the restaurant was okay as well. Sort of felt like we were sitting in an area of the restaurant that was half finished and half seating and the other half was a dark storage area. Overall this place has decent food but was severely held back by the lackluster service. Would be willing to try once more in case it was an off night for the restaurant, but based on the reviews on here from the last 2 years pointing out the lackluster service, I doubt it was out of the ordinary.

I went here with some friends for restaurant week and was very disappointed. The food was pretty good and drink options were great(which is why I gave it two stars) but the service was awful. We were seated immediately, but not a single person was friendly. The waitress was inattentive and seemed confused… I waited 15 minutes for a glass of wine after ordering it twice, our appetizers took 30 – 40 minutes to be served, and the waitress didn’t check on us or refill our empty glasses however she took my half filled wine glass away without asking if I was done or wanted more, which I wasn’t and probably would have ordered another glass if asked. Not to mention, the restaurant week«deal» was $ 24 for an app, entrée and dessert which sounds good until you add up all the prices on the menu which normally comes to about $ 24. Then, we were charged the restaurant week price even though we didn’t have the dessert, which was only fixed after getting the manager. Lastly, the atmosphere wasn’t very nice. The building was really big and open but the décor was unimpressive. Half of the room was dark with random tables, umbrellas and chairs scattered everywhere. It smelled like old beer and dirty carpet. Needless to say, we were dissatisfied with our experience and will not be returning or referring others.

Went in with a few friends for a drink awhile back. To be fair the bar was busy, but the bartenders ignored us for 15 minutes. Wouldn’t acknowledge us or even make eye contact. It was bizarre. Walked out and complained to the hostess on the way. She couldn’t have cared less. Oh well, they lost 4 local families from any future business.

Officially added to my list of trivia spots. Thursday night trivia was a great time. It was free to play with good prizes and a fun host. The bathroom and décor could use an update but the food is great. I really enjoyed the pizza and the salads are big enough to share.

I love this place. It feels like home when I go there. The food is excellent, the bar is usually full and the activities(trivia night, karaōke, live bands, etc.) really make it a great venue to be a regular patron. And while the bathroom in the bar could use some updating, I generally use the one in the dining room and it’s clean and bright. Their food is super fresh. The pizzas are delicious and salads are big. I love ordering off their Specials of the Day — grilled cheese and fresh tomato soup, pork chops with mashed potatoes, chicken pot pie, etc. — all excellent! I’ve never seen the staff here take a break. They work hard and are extremely attentive. This is a family-run establishment and I’d love to see it stick around for a long time!

I really like this place. The dinner menu is pretty short(ignoring the standard lunch fare like salads and burgers) and the choices are pretty random, but it just feels like someone had a few good recipes and decided to start a restaurant. And that actually works if the recipes are good. The bolognese pasta in particular is great, with a real meaty sauce that feels like it’s been cooking for hours. Entrée prices are really decent and the portions are huge. Barwise, good tap selection and decent prices. Don’t think they have any taps wasted on Bud/Miller/Coors, which is nice. Always have something from Brooklyn Brewery on tap, which is nice to see, and sometimes it’s something pretty unusual like Sorachi Ace or Monster Ale. The sangria is good too, and they have a decent selection of wines, all of which actually seem to be available by the glass at any given time. I don’t normally eat at the tables, so can’t comment on the service, but the bartenders are good at their job. Sometimes it’s a bit confusing to tell who’s a barback and who’s a bartender, but that’s life. Overall, good food, good bar, good vibe. Better than you’d expect in between towns in the suburbs of Connecticut.

I had such high hopes for this place and was disappointed right away, First we started with the Eggplant fries and they would have been better if they actually had eggplant in them instead of just overly fried breading. Second was an over cooked Penne a la Vodka that was piping and kind of watery. The service was good and everyone was friendly so that is why I gave them 2 stars.

I’ll preface my review with saying I’ve only been to DeMil’s for trivia on Thursdays so I can’t attest to how they are on other days of the week, especially weekends. I’ve been going to trivia there for a number of months, now. I’ve ordered several different items including the southwestern egg rolls which were on a «specials» menu and have since been added to the full menu which was a good move. They’re delicious! Their basic pizza called«The pizza» is very good too. My friends generally like the food, including the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. During trivia, they have pretty great drink specials — all beers on tap for $ 3. I tend to get cider, but they also have good mixed drinks as well. The bartenders are all friendly and helpful, as far as making drink or food suggestions. There are two poorly-placed pillars in the bar area, which I’m sure can’t be amended lest the building fall down, but it makes it awkward whenever I end up having to find trivia seats in the corner and my friends’ view is of a pillar. I’ve never sat in the large back room but I have walked through to use the bathroom and I always feel like it’s this big, empty dark room, though I’m not sure what could be done to fix it. It feels like that back room of a big party where you wouldn’t find anyone. It may just need more lighting. During the summer, the patio was pretty nice though some of the tables were low and I felt awkward sitting high above them with the table at knee level. Overall I really enjoy the food and drinks there… service is a teeny bit slow.
