I went there recently to purchase an exchange ring for my girlfriend. I read all of the reviews about this jewelry store so I figured I would give it a chance. I walked in and was greeted very nicely by Jen. She was very patient with me and explained everything to me because I honestly knew nothing about the process. I went there with a picture of a ring and she was able to show me exactly the ring I was looking for. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to explain everything to me.
So you’re probably wondering what went wrong. I started talking prices which when they gave me prices it was a bit high so I asked if they would be willing to work on the prices. They seemed very hesitant about it but said they could try working a deal on a diamond but not a ring setting because they needed to make money. I found that odd because every other store was willing to work on discounting the entire item whether it was the diamond or the ring. I understand some brands cannot be discounted so other stores were willing to take a little more off the diamond to make it all work out in the end. But I guess not this store.
So I decided to keep shopping around with the information they gave me about the items I wanted. I went to a few other stores and saw that this stores price was higher than other stores. Now I know all diamonds are different in aspects so I brought all the details they provided me from the GIA reports to another store. Another store actually had a better diamond for $ 1,000 less although Rumanoff’s stated they gave me the best price etc. So if you like paying for the experience and not getting the best deal, then this is your store.
After posting this, I have been e-​mailed by one of the owners asking me to take this post down. He has been extremely rude. They seem so upset that I bought my ring elsewhere, they called the brand for the ring stating other companies have been giving discounts to the rings which is illegal. Unfortunately, the store I bought the ring from didn’t give me a discount on the ring brand, they gave me a better price on the diamond by $ 1,000.
All I am saying is when buying something nice, do your due diligence and make sure you’re getting the best price. I wish I could have had a better experience with this company, but unfortunately i didn’t. Jen was great but being rudely e-​mailed by Doug due to me posting an honest review about his company, is unfortunate. Good luck shopping here if you’re willing to give them a chance!

How is it possible for one of Connecticut’s most sought after jewelry stores manages to succeed? Customer service. How did they remember my Husbands name a year plus after he bought my engagement is beyond me — but they did.
As always they graciously walked us through picking the perfect piece of exceptional quality within our budget. No pushy sales business here, but genuine happiness for our recent marriage and friendly advice. I couldn’t be more pleased with the environment, staff or over all experience.
We will be life long customers.

I worked with Leslie and the Rumanoff’s team to get an engagement ring for my fiancée (now wife) in early 2013. I had already shopped for a ring at Steven Singer Jewelers in Philadelphia and found the type of diamond and setting that I wanted. Rumanoff’s was extremely accommodating in helping to match my needs. Case in point, the setting that I saw in Philly was by Gabriel and even though Rumanoff’s didn’t carry that line, they loved the setting so much that they ordered it for me and continue to sell that particular line of rings.
As for the diamond selection, I got to see many incredible diamonds before picking the perfect one.
When it came to price, Rumanoff’s was superior to Steven Singer. After telling Steven Singer what I was being offered by Rumanoff’s, Steven Singer dropped his price significantly but still could not match Rumanoff’s. The important thing that made me decide to buy from Rumanoff’s is that they offered me the best price they could from the very beginning.
This trend has continued when purchasing my wedding band and my wife’s wedding band. They always gave us the best prices they could.
After getting to know this family-​run shop over the past 18 months, there is definitely a family feeling among its employees and customers. I always get a warm greeting whenever I show up.
Also worth noting is that they are great with ring cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
