Three of us visited here on 12÷5÷15. It was a good stop. They had a nice selection of wines, and the service was very good.

You MUST go here on a Saturday. The service was fantastic when we went. The real advantage of this place is that they have a wider variety of wines and I think they taste better than the other wineries in the area. Plus you can actually make your own batch of wine which we will definitely try in the future. The bad reviews here on Unilocal definitely didn’t try the place on a Saturday when the owner is there. Definitely a must-try place in Fredericksburg.

The wine bar is great and the wines chosen are truly one of a kind. Will definitely be back when visiting family in Kerrville.

By far one of our favorite stops this trip. It is obvious that the owners are fans of their product and know it well too. I don’t remember the owners name, but he was super animated and a lot of fun to chat with. He made recommendations based on our tastes. We came in planning on buying one or two bottles and ended up with 6 lol. We could have bought more if I wasn’t feeling overwhelmed with what we spent that day already lol. Highly recommend stopping here, if for no other reason but to enjoy the enthusiasm of the owner and to taste some pretty good wine.

I don’t even like wine, but the Peach Ice Wine here could make a convert out of me. It doesn’t hurt that the lady in charge was not only friendly and knowledgeable, but she also knew exactly which wines to recommend for every person’s palette. The wines here weren’t quite as refined as the rest of the wines in Fredericksburg, but they’re still a step above most. Furthermore, it was obvious that there was an expert behind the counter.

The wine in this place is probably good, however we did not stick around long enough to find out. As soon as we walked in the door, the woman working in the place(possibly the owner, don’t know) seemed to have a look of annoyance on her face about more customers coming in. She was shabbily dressed for a representative of what seems to be a nice establishment. We sat, and when she came to greet us, I asked a question. I basically explained that my wife is a little picky about wines, and could she help recommend a place to start from their selections. After the eye roll, she basically repeated her original greeting which semi explained their services. I told her we’d look at the menu and asked if she’d give us a moment. I then heard her greet a few more people that walked in, and she had the same basic tone with them. My wife and I decided there were far too many wineries in beautiful Fredericksburg to spend our money here where our patronage did not seem to be appreciated. We walked out of there, and went to 2 other places, and ended up getting a case of wine from each.

Wines: 3 Stars Service: 5 Stars Ambience/View: N/A — storefront on Main Street Having heard of this franchise, we decided to stop in at W2W to find out what the buzz(metaphorically speaking) was all about. Interesting concept for those who are familiar — you taste the post-fermentation, pre-aged juice of a plethora of grape varietals from all over the world, and then you can buy it by the glass, by the bottle(pre-bottled for you), or you can buy a batch and they bottle it for you & you come back and pick up your cases of wine, bottled and labeled just for you. There are quite a selection of wines to choose from — from the ultra sweet faux wines(blended with fruit juices — like a Strawberry White Merlot(why, oh God, why??) to high end speciality varietals from all over the world. This is an interesting way to taste the juice without any extra adornments — oak barrels, extended aging, no added sulfites, etc. We had varying success with the varietals that we selected for our tastings — all in the Crush or En Premier Series categories — high lights — the Tannat(a bold red from Uruguay), the Lodi Old Vines Zin, and the Amarone(a food friendly red from Italy). Not so greats — the Cab from WA state, Château du Pays from France. You can really tell how the winemaker can impact the juice, and though we like the freshness of the wine, the bigger the red, the more aging & mellowing it does need. And, I definitely miss the oak barrels in the aging of the Cab & the Bordeaux. A fun place to go with a small group to get a wide variety of tastes — if we go back, we’ll definitel hit some of the whites too.

Did I really buy that much wine? I had a blurred dig into my purse to find my reciept, just to find out yes, I had in fact just bought that much wine. Ah but the wine stained smiles after say it all. To me the basis of sales is a friendly face and a love of your product. Water 2 Wine has got the handle on that! Their enthusiasm for their product, their love for the wine — it all works together to make you, well, buy their delish beverage. I hear their welcome to Fredericksburg has been a bit hard to earn, but as the new kid in town I would surely suggest you give them a try!(just make sure and bring your credit card with a nice strong available balance on it, you will want to spend it!)

My fiancée and I came upon Water 2 Wine on our second trip up to Fredericksburg. We had been tasting earlier in the day and were looking to replenish our buzz. After dropping more money than any two humans should spend on cheese next door at Fromage du Monde, we headed into Water 2 Wine. Super cute place… they have nice high-top tables but we chose to sit at the bar. One of the owners helped us and ended up serving us a tasting of some of the BEST wines we have ever had! I fell in LURVE with the Montepulciano, the Spanish Rioja and the Sangiovese. The Chilean Merlot was awesome too. We ended up leaving Fredericksburg with too many pounds of cheese, not enough bottles(ahem seven cough) of wine and a Cherry Pie… not bad for a day trip! My mom is coming into town from Virginia this weekend and I can’t waittt to take her here!

i went here with a friend from out of town to taste some wines on a lazy monday afternoon. we didn’t have the greatest experience with the owners/staff(it seemed to take forever to taste our wines, as they were trying to juggle multiple customers); however, i did manage to walk away with one freakin’ delicious bottle of sweet cranberry chianti. it wasn’t so sweet that it made me sick, and was almost too easy to drink. perfectly delicious! i’m looking forward to my next visit, although i wasn’t aware until recently that they had locations in austin – they’ll be seeing me very soon for more chianti!
