sorry fellas — i do my best to avoid anything under 3 stars, but i’ve continued to be disappointed with the quality of service here. i know they mean well, but its the B team in there. forget about them asking me for another glass of wine, it took me nearly 10 minutes to flag someone down — i’m not stretching my obliques during dinner fellas and staring at other people eat dinner — i’m trying to find any waiter for a glass of red.

Someone needs to burn this place to the ground…(Line taken from Hangover 3) I got the homemade pasta… why the hell did the pasta taste like cup of noddle soup. Why would they even lie and say it is homemade. Who are they kidding!!! My husband got the seabass. It was $ 28 and it was terrible. My father in law got the pasta with seafood and it taste like old seafood. It was a horrible meal. Stay far away from this place…

This place could be so much better, but they are clueless. No diet coke !!! Then we ordered a side of pasta(literally it was a handful portion that they charged $ 9 ‚… The décor needs to be switched up too, it’s very 80s. The food is decent. That’s about it. Never coming back here

The restaurant needs a makeover. That’s the first thing that comes to mind when you step into the restaurant. Everything looks worn and outdated. We ordered a ravioli and penne with italian bacon. Both dishes were surprisingly good and the staff were polite and attentive.

Would have been nice to have been offered a second glass of wine when my veal scallopine was served; kind of ignored. Veal was ok; vegetables were sparse

GROSSEDOUT!!! I ordered a veterinarian dish because I am a veterinarian and they put the chicken my husband ordered on my dish, when I told them my order was incorrect they took both dishes back where they just took the chicken and put it on my husbands dish sauce and all and did not give me new pasta till my husband had it sent back. Pretty sure they just mixed the pasta around and gave it back to me. So very unappetizing. They did not offer us desert or to take the food off the bill. WILLNEVERGOBACK!!!

This has been an on and off favorite place in the neighborhood for the near decade I’ve lived here. Some of the dishes are fresh and very good, but some of the dishes seem to have been frozen. The freshly-made pastas have been consistently delicious, though. The staff is excellent always. Attentive, professional and helpful, and they know their wines. The house malbec is delicious, and they make a mean dirty martini.

Pasta Del Giorno is an ok Italian restaurant. I ate here a couple of times. A lot of pasta dishes. It’s good cheaper food

This is one of the first restaurants I had the pleasure of dining in when I first moved to New York years ago. I have to say it has a special place in my heart. The atmosphere is cozy, intimate, romantic. The food is what you would expect from Italian American restaurants, but done extremely well. The service was very good and food tasted great. I have no complaints about this restaurant and I wish other restaurants on Austin street would take note on how it’s done right!

Probably the worst restaurant I’ve been to in the past year. I saw the mediocre reviews on Unilocal and thought how bad could an Italian spot be; even mediocre Italian is OK in my book. This place is really REALLY bad. My wife had one bite of her food, and couldn’t eat the rest. The ever-attentive waitstaff didn’t realize that she hadn’t touched her food until the end of the meal, at which point I informed the waiter that the food was awful. He begrudgingly took the meal off the bill. I don’t want to spend more effort writing this review than this restaurant put into preparing the shitty meals I’m writing about, so I’ll stop writing :-)

I won’t set foot in any B rated restaurant, so you might imagine how I feel about«Grade Pending» designations. Suffice it to say, every experience I’ve had at Pasta del Giorno prior to their publicized health grade corroborates that dreaded, current Pending sign. You’ve been warned!

Average neighborhood place right up the street from my home. The food has always been good. We usually can get a table even during those regularly busy times. And, the staff is nice. I have been going there for eight years and will continue to go there as long as I live in the neighborhood.

One of my friends walks by this place all the time and wanted to check it out. It was a Thursday night and there were only a handful of people there. We were sat at the table by the front windows which, during the warmer months, must be really nice when open. We ordered the fried calamari, Rigatone Ponte Vecchio and Petti di Pollo alla Toscana to share. I know a lot of other reviewers didn’t like the calamari but that was my favorite dish of the night. It wasn’t too chewy and the batter was light. That and the bacon/onion/peas/pink sauce over the rigatone. The chicken was dry and tasteless.

I WAS going to give this place 3 stars, and not in a negative way. It was going to be 3 stars of «this place has decent food, just don’t expect Michelin». Good thing I waited longer, because we just found out the hard way they don’t use fresh seafood. And by «fresh» I don’t mean«just came off the dock» I mean not fresh as in it MAKESYOUSICK. Sorry but if you can’t properly store or cook your seafood, it’s a 1 star. And if you don’t have the experience to suspect whether or not your seafood should be thrown away or not, then that means you have no morals. The menu says«$ 15 minimun»(yes it’s spelled that way on the menu) so I imagine that was recently added to the menu since the old one is actually still in the folder in the back. So it sounds like they are hurting for money. This would lend me to believe they purposely used the not-so-fresh seafood instead of throwing it away. So if you still decide to go here, don’t get the seafood risotto. Or at the very least, don’t get seafood at all. Or just don’t go there at all and also avoid the screaming kids in the back that the owner/employee keeps at the restaurant which ruins the ambiance all because he doesn’t want to pay a babysitter.

Landed at this place at random while driving back to Manhattan: incredible service, delectable food, amazing desserts. Well done all around.

The food here was not good at all. I was on an impromptu first date that left no room for planning and walked into this place. The food and lack of ambiance really let me down. I had linguini frutti di mare and my date had a simple house salad and penne a la vodka for entrée. Nightmare. I really don’t know what happened on that particular Wednesday night in that kitchen. I will never go back to find out if it was an isolated anomaly. Excessive oil on everything. Food void of any kind of flavor or soul. Fortunately she had a good sense of humor and we laughed it off. Phew! The service was decent. The water was clean. Best I can do for ya Del Giorno.

First time at Pasta Del Giorno and I have to say, it was pretty good. We did however have a bad dish of Calamari Fritti(Fried Calamari — hey I just came back from Italy, shoot me!!!) Like most restaurants, fried calamari is a hit or miss. I hate to admit that it was a huge miss. It arrived looked very, very appetizing but in the first bite, you can feel the rubbery squid. I do not know how to cook calamari so I can’t say if it was the Calamari that was bad to begin with or if it was the way in which the chef cooked them. They were big pieces but rubbery. For my main dish, I ordered the Rigatoni Ponte Vecchio which to me, was OUTSTANDING… it was absolutely delicious!!! Delicately flavored with Italian bacon, peas in a light pink sauce. I think there were pieces of artichokes in there too which were amazing. My friend ordered the Petti di Pollo alla Toscana which was really delicious with the cherry wine infused chicken!!! I tried it and vowed to order it next time. So for the Calamari Fritti, Rigatoni Ponte Vecchio and the Petti di Pollo alla Toscana, our bill came to $ 39 including tax… that is not expensive. They also have a very nice wine selection! The meal was absolutely worth it. The wait staff was very friendly, the restaurant was nicely lit, low music, and to me, had a real Italian feel to it. I will definitely go back!

If I could, I would have given 4.5 stars. I really enjoyed this restaurant. My only cons were the low tables. Im short and I didn’t have much leg room under the table and my boyfriend is 6’2″, so he was more uncomfortable than me. I also wish they had more pasta and appetizer selections. The bread they served was warm and delicious. We shared a caesar salad, which was good, but tasted more like oil and vinaigrette. I had the rigatoni with bacon and onions, which was delicious. My boyfriend had the breaded chicken breast with fresh mozzarella on top, which was super moist and delicious. Service was good. The waiters were attentive and friendly and the prices are reasonable.
I took some food to go and had it for breakfast the next morning. Boy oh boy was that amazing!!! LoL. I cant wait to go back.

If you’re looking for an OK pasta meal, then Pasta Del Giorno is the place for you. We’ve eaten here a few times in the last 5 years, but now that we frequent Tuscan Hills, and become accustomed to their incredibly delicious pasta entrees, mediocre rote pasta dishes, like those at Pasta Del Giorno, pale in comparison. The wait staff here isn’t gracious and you don’t get the sense that they appreciate your business. When I asked for a bigger wine glass, because my red wine arrived in a water goblet, the waiter commented, «Oh, you want a fancy glass.» Really? That’s inside voice. Simply put, I prefer Tuscan Hills.
