Coffee, dessert bar. TV. Tables, no booths. Very reasonable. Al fungi sauce is nice and rich.

This was our first time coming here and it was really good! We ordered the calamari, Burrata, Special pasta with salmon and asparagus, Tartufetta pizza, and penne la vodka with chicken. With the exception of the penne la vodka everything was delicious! The penne just wasn’t as great as the other dishes. The calamari was crispy and was given a great portion. The place itself it’s small but comfortable as you can see outside the window of Queens blvd. The service was splendid, our waiter was checking our table at least once every 5 minutes, and put a craft of ice water so we always have water on your table.

I’ve been here a couple of times food is ok. The waiter would tell you 20 mins wait for the food but the food is sitting there to pick up. The food is bland

Terrible terrible terrible. Ordered the gluten-free pizza for delivery. Only 1 crumble of sausge per slice. We had to call twice to check on the status of our order because it took them over 2 hours to arrive. I will NEVER get another thing from here again.

$ 20 Prix Fixe is a great deal. I enjoyed Minestrone, sole in lemon sAuce and Italian cheesecake. All delicious. Generous portions too! We eat here pretty often-sometimes just come in for late evening coffee and we are graciously received.

I had went to Ovo Sodo with my fiancé for brunch. We both had mimosas which were pretty good. I had the breakfast pizza with the eggs and bacon on it. It was really good, combining pizza and break you really can’t go wrong! My fiancé had the burger on the brunch menu, which we both really weren’t a huge fan of. I can’t explain it exactly but the meat was very dense, just something was a little off. It wasn’t a juicy burger as he would of hoped. Looking around at other tables their food all looked pretty good. Overall I’d say it was a good experience but we wouldn’t get a burger from there again. I’ll definitely be back for the pizza though!

This place has come a long way since they opened. Simple, good, hearty food. If you love garlic, there is no shortage in your dishes. They also do delivery.

I would not recommend this restaurant at all. I ordered a steak recently, and it it tasted like it had been left out and spoiled.

Very good food and service at decent prices. My sole complaint is how early they close on the weekend.

*Dinner Review* Overall: decent prices, amazing red sauce, okay service, and pretty good food… did I mention the red sauce? Breakdown Food: This is a different type of italian food, its it not the classic italian-american cuisine you are used to, its tuscan so the cuisine is a bit lighter and not as heavy. There is a good variety on the menu but on the bottom they have italian american food but do not have an explanation underneath. You have the choice of broccoli or spaghetti with marina. I hate ordering spaghetti with marina because I find its usually lacking in any taste because restaurants don’t care, but their red sauce is incredible. It tasted garlicky and you could taste the freshness in the tomatoes. What we ordered: My boyfriend and I started with fried calamari, I had eggplant parmesan and my boyfriend had meatballs. The calamari was the best I have ever had, very fresh and crispy, the sauce served with it was incredible. I loved my eggplant dish even though it was sautéed eggplant and not fried(not sure what the normal is). I personally did not like the meatballs that my boyfriend had ordered but he loved them so that is what mattered, however, they did charge $ 16 for 4 tiny meatballs. Something I noticed was that I had red sauce in 3 different dishes and EACH one was different. Most restaurants could care less and use their terrible marinara with everything but Ovo Sodo uses different sauces for different dishes… that is dedication. Prices: Fair… ranges from 15 – 25 for entrees, 6 – 15 for appetizers or salads Service: Pretty decent, nothing worth mentioning either good or bad. Décor and Ambiance: It is a 3 meal a day restaurant so it does a great job at making sure it fits all three, this isn’t catered to dinner so its not decorated as fancy as other places.

I’ve been here quite a few times since my last review, since it’s located very close to where I live and always serves breakfast/brunch…i still have issues with their customer service, and still have issues with the food… definitely some hit or misses on the menu… but overall, it’s a pretty solid place, and one of the few places always open for breakfast/brunch

Meh. Came for a late brunch, and was pretty disappointed. I can’t even remember what I got, that’s how much of an impression it made… Oh! It was a fancy omelet which barely ranked against the two egg wonder I could have concocted at home. Hubby got a sandwich of some sort, with meh fries. Son got the kids pizza, which was horrible. Service was a bit slow, which was especially annoying since we had witnessed white glove service to a party of 10 who were finishing up when we arrived(& whose mess of a table was never fully cleared, yuck). It didn’t help that we were seated near the most obnoxious, entitled elderly customer, who complained constantly — loudly — and caused a few scenes. I believe we left much more generous a tip than was warranted, simply out of pity to the staff for having to put up with her. In no hurry to return.

I’ve ordered delivery from here twice. The first time, I ordered the lasagna. The second time, I ordered the I ovo sodo pizza. I found both to be lacking in presentation and taste. Perhaps the other pizza options were better choices but the ovo sodo pizza was a soggy, oily disappointment. Not sure that I would order from here again, but if I did I’d surely avoid these items.

This is tough because the food is good. But the service is terrible. Both times we waited 40 mins for the food. Simple orders too Then Our orders were wrong, but we just wanted to eat and leave. The bill was wrong too. Overpriced. I Had them correct it. Maybe we will order for take out next time. Probably not.

I came in hankering for their delicious Cheeseburger and Fries, but after talking to Marco, one of the owners, I decided on the Salmon Burger instead. Golly, what an experience! The longer this juicy Salmon Burger stays in your mouth, the juicier and tastier it gets, with the pretzel bun taking it to another level– seriously. The accompanying French Fries are just the right consistency and amount, and they round out this amazing entrée. Mister had the Cheeseburger with French Fries, which he loves, chased down with a Peroni, then we shared their Apple Pie Strudel, heated and topped with Vanilla Ice Cream, which is killer. We’ll be back for Brunch tomorrow. I just love Ovo Sodo.

Came here for a baby shower for a party of around 35 people. The manager/operator was very communicative and nice about letting us decorate the place. The place is not spacious nor was it a prviate party. Although there were other guests, there was never a wait for a table even though we took up majority of the restaurant. There was a preset menu with a decent selection offered. The wait staff was very attentive and the bread/muffin basket were yummy. I had the biscuit and gravy. It was not the best nor was it memorable. The gravy was too watery and it was not flavorful enough for the biscuits. it looked good enough that my friend ordered it too after seeing my plate. My husband’s baked pasta with spicy sausage was good. The pasta was cooked just right and had enough cheese but wished it had more sausage pieces. A few of the people had the polanta with scramble eggs, they said it was flavorless. Although the party was suppose to be 12pm-3, we were never rushed and staff never complained that a few of the party members showed up 1 – 2 hours late. I think we end the shower around 330PM and everything was a-ok.

We are regulars at this place! We were just there with a friend and the kids Saturday. The service and food was excellent! I got the eggs Benedict(absolutely delicious) the kids got pizza, which they loved! One pizza is good enough for 2 kids(it’s huge) My friend got the tuna melt which she finished with help from her 3 year(to me that means it was also delicious!) the waiter was so friendly with the kids, they didn’t want to leave. The owners as always came by and said Hello to everyone. Our kids feel like celebrities here lol plus they get that type of treatment! So if you’re looking for a kid friendly place with amazing food & service… This is your place! I’ve also been here with some friends a few time! Same positive review! Kids/no kids… This place is awesome!!!

Ovosodo besides being a 1997 Italian film which I haven’t seen is a relatively new Italian café on Queens Boulevard in the spot once occupied by the purveyor of fine Polish pierogi, Just Like Mother’s. The name loosely translated means boiled egg and the restaurant has a signature pizza with eggs on top. After dining there last night the only appropriate spot for egg was on my face for having had such a disappointing experience. But let’s accentuate the positive first as it’s the holiday season. The space is spacious, comfortable with candlelit tables in the evening and no risk of elbow banging with your fellow diners.(Which in our case was minimal anyway as there weren’t too many diners in the first place) The prices are accessible, with hardly an entrée over $ 20. Specials were paperclipped to the main menu and included buratta and a pesto risotto with shrimp which I ultimately ordered. Dessert includes Italian cheesecake, American cheesecake, plenty of coffees and again won’t break the bank. There was no need for water refills as a carafe was placed on our table just like in Paris. All in all, plenty of reasons to like this boiled egg of a restaurant. Well, just like in Paris the major malfunction was the extremely aloof and indifferent wait staff. I fully understand wanting to recreate a European style café and atmosphere but the service should be adjusted to the standards of the U.S.A!(U.S.A!) We felt like a toxic cloud of ebola hovered around us as staff passed us by and ignored us. In an almost Hitchcockian manner, one waitress kept folding and adjusting napkins and cutlery… while we smiled and squirmed like puppies in a kennel hoping for attention. Throw a fork at me and at least recognize I am alive, a customer and the holder of cash money. I had to flag down the other waitress when it was time to order.(The one who wasn’t folding anything). Now at this point in the evening the restaurant wasn’t at capacity, with a table of four getting ready to leave, a solitary pizza eater in the corner and a table for two behind us nearly finished as well. Plenty of free tables were present where napkins must be folded to perfection. Anyway, after literally waving at a waitress our order was taken, water was brought to us along with bread and tapenade. My pesto risotto was tasty enough, the shrimp were a bit on the small side but otherwise flavorful. Portions were large so much so that it was time to wrap things up and move on to dessert. But the indifference continued, the symbol of fork and knife placed on the plate indicating completion ignored and finally, yet again, I had to hail down the waitress and ask to have things wrapped up and at this point of surrender, simply for the check. I would have ordered Italian cheesecake but grew tired of having to ask for attention as the paying customer. Check in hand, I need changed and knew that this final act would bring further discomfort. Finally I asked the napkin folder for change as she was a few feet away while the other waitress was elsewhere. Change administered I walked out briefly speculating if I was invisible and could simply walk through the wall like a ghost for obviously I was hardly visible to the staff that night. Ovo Sodo or OsoSlowDoh? Now if one considers the food, pricing and ambiance this spot has the potential for a pleasant experience that can result in loyal return customers. But I’m less likely to return based on the aloof service that makes me want to go to a corporate chain restaurant where at least I don’t have to do things to get the staff’s attention.(And ingest 2800 calories but that’s a different story) I’m sorry Ovo Sodo. Sometimes when writing a Unilocal review you have to break some eggs.

First time here. Big fan of Tuscan Hills that’s why I decided to try it out. Let me tell you that I should have listened to many of the reviews. The experience on service is pretty accurate. Not good! When I first walked in, I was told to sit anywhere. The waitress came over and handed me a menu. Minus the drink menu so I called her back and asked for one. It took her nearly 14 minutes to return to give me water and bread. Mind you there was only 3 tables of patrons in a very large open floor plan restaurant. Where was the bus boy? He should have been bringing the water and bread and elevate the waitress. When she returned I had to ask again for the drink menu. By this time I could have sipped half a glass of wine. Clearly this lady was making this business loose money. I got the drink menu, ordered a wine and she moved on to another table next to me that had been served, in full conversation and didn’t call her over. She then went to the back… Still no wine. 10 minutes later she returned to take our order without my wine. Ordered the frito misto and Tuscan chicken. The appetizer came out and I still had no wine. I had to ask her again. And finally got it. Boy what a struggle. The frito misto was flavorful and the marinara that came with it as well. Our entrees came out and I requested pepper and cheese. Again she went off to another table that didn’t call her. Didn’t come back for another ten minutes. By them I was half way thru my meal. She returned to the table next to me and I asked her again for cheese and pepper. Bus boy where are you? This place needs one asap! 2 minutes later She finally returned. Then I asked for another glass of wine. I got the drill how this place works. I will be asking twice for this request since the first time it doesn’t sink in. Again she disappeared into the back and forgot all about my wine. 15 minutes passed and she returned to check on me… My wine lady? Oh yes sorry she announced for the twentieth time. When she returned with my wine I told her to wrap my food because I knew I won’t see her for another 10 minutes in this non crowded restaurant. I then asked for the check and so did the table next to me. When she returned with our checks(cc already ran) she walked out the restaurant. There were 3 tables including my own at this point. The folks that also asked for a check didn’t want to leave because they were paying cash. We had no idea where the waitress went to. The other table commented about knowing the owner and just what horrible service they also received. They were upset their friend place was being run so poorly. Since all I had to do was sign my receipt I walked out. Only to find that the waitress had left all her customer so she can go smoke outside!!! Talk about customer service. We know where your priorities are lady. 3 stars for the food but the Service was horrible which is why I rates it 2 stars. If you want to go and wait, order the same thing repeatedly because waitress is careless am doesn’t take directions very well. Then be my guest. I will not be back.
