Hanson’s Grill & Tavern

This place has a gourmet level of bar food. The flavor of almost everything is dynamic. It’s slightly pricey, but there are things that I crave, that only Hansons has, like the sausage and cheese appetizer. I’m slightly picky, and this place is very satisfying.

Great old school neighborhood eatery. Just had the prime rib. Perfectly cooked and well portioned. Mashed potatoes are cooked up with some great flavors. Ceasar salad is outstanding. Restaurant is staffed by real people who do their job well. I have a panache for non mainstream cocktails and the bartender hooked us up. The owner is very active and always makes sure everything is up to her high standards. Perfect space with defined bar and restaurant areas to either bring your buddies or have dinner with the family. Great decore. My son’s favorite restaurant and we live near restaurant row on 17^th, so that speaks volumes.

Hanson’s has a variety of menu items if you are going on your lunch break — they have a variety of juicy burgers.. But they only do medium rare instead of rare. This is Colorado — but it was so good. I’m going with the Hansons Sampler and a juicy cheeseburger. Delicicious!!!

We had a pretty unexceptional dining experience here all around. In particular, the bar tending is mediocre. The booths however are comfortable. I would go here for a tap beer and to hang out with friends but would avoid the cocktails. The food is ok but not great.
I ordered the top shelf margarita which was very watery which I sent back. I don’t prefer strong drinks but I am not sure this even had the tequila in it. I ordered a Cosmo instead which had so much liquid in the glass I had to sip it without picking it up lest I spill it all over the table. Once I could pick up the glass it was hard to drink from it because the stem is so off center to look hip that it doesn’t drink well — misguided management decision. However, my husband had a perfect manhattan which he said was good.
On to the food. We had the special burgers since it was a Monday night. Not bad but not great. As the Chris Hillman song says, «It’s not love, but it’s not bad.» The $ 4 burger easily turns full price when you add the extras though quality is more my driver than price. My husband ordered a beer when the food arrived but the beer didn’t show up until he was practically done. The place was fairly empty and after awhile the waiter finally showed up and said he’d check on the beer. So I am thinking, how much does grabbing a glass and putting beer into require 10+ minutes in an almost empty restaurant when I can see a bartender who isn’t hustling?
Anyway, we’ll cross this off the list for Denver dining.

Hanson’s is a nice neighborhood bar and grill with friendly service. The food is good for a neighborhood bar, but it isn’t destination-​dining-​worthy.
The beer list is usually pretty good, with a few nice seasonal options. They also have a good assortment of «Mules» if you prefer mixed drinks.
My favorite snack at Hanson’s is the fried zucchini. At least I can pretend it’s healthier than fries!

Watch out! I went there with my wife for dinner and some drinks and was served raw chicken. I took one bit and was totally grossed out. First and foremost our meals look 45mins to come out and it chicken kabobs were not cooked. I’m thankful I didn’t get sick.

We are from out of town. My daughter just gave birth. We were directed here by my son-​in law. This place epitomizes the neighbourhood place, bar, restaurant, etc. with fresh food, reasonable prices, wonderful staff, and a gererally welcome atmosphere. Wow… what I would give for a place like this back home… What I was impressed with were the people who work there. Kyle (I am not sure if the spelling is correct) is an advertisement by himself. Helpful, warm, yet professional, and efficient. Jess (again I hope this is correct) served us on one of the visits, Although I am now retired when I managed people I can tell you… these guys could be in any corporation… teching people the business is easy… you cannot change their personalities… and these guys could be the public or businesss interface for any company… kedp it up and thank you for a memorble favorlle exoerience…

I can certainly see where Hanson’s is perfect for those longing a for big plate of nachos, spicy hot wings, and ice cold pint. Because Hanson’s has it. They have that and more.
Anchoring the corner, like it has for years, at Louisiana and Pearl — this Denver staple has an inviting presence and delivers more fun when you walk through the door. It’s not a pretty interior by any means, but its warm hues, dark wood, and spacious bar area really offer everything for your classic bar.

I just found the «go-​to» place for burgers in Denver. We decided to try this on Monday night burger madness. $ 4 for a 10 ounce Angus burger. It was cooked perfectly and definitely the best burger we tasted in Denver. The fries only cost a dollar. To top it off, we got their version of Chocolate Mousse with an almond cookie, the best way to end the dinner. And because they serve Coke products I give them a five star rating.

Great neighborhood bar & restaurant! I can easily recommend Hanson’s. There is something for just about anyone.
Great place, varied menu, nice bars both upstairs & on the main floor, a beautiful patio, multiple rooms & spaces for groups, accommodating mgt, friendly staff …
Free pool and Fußball are upstairs with some lounge type seating and a jukebox up there too.
The food … big menu & decent to big portions, the sweet potato fries are always a favorite! The fried zucchini is to die for. The burgers are always better than good, but be sure to not ask for more than medium. The Cobb salad is big and delicious. The border burrito is an easy choice and quite good. And the apple bacon chicken always pleases. And on the lighter side the B.L.A.S.T. is scrumptious
Not every dish is their best, bit as a neighborhood bar & restaurant they do a lot very well! Oh and Wednesday’s the happy hour is ALL NIGHT long … you can’t go wrong!

Came here tonight for $ 4 burgers and was pleasantly surprised! I didn’t have very high expectations based on the exterior but it was a great experience!
We ordered a burger with guacamole, bacon and grilled onions. I was thinking it would be some tiny burger based on the $ 4 promo price but it came out and it was a good sized burger! In addition, it was super juicy — I’m a fan of rarer meat so this was perfect for me! We also ordered sweet potato fries and they were excellent — crispy without being overdone.
The bartender was rad. We were a group of 7 and he was super cool, letting us take up a corner of the bar so we could chill and watch the game. He checked on us without hovering which is awesome.
The place is also rad. It’s a converted house and the upstairs is super cool. They have a couple pool tables and some big leather chairs. In addition, they have two bars which is really nice — one upstairs and one downstairs.
This is definitely a great place to come with a group and a place where we’ll come back!

Hanson’s is definitely a great neighborhood spot. I never would have come if we hadn’t moved but I’m really glad we stopped in for the first time 6 months ago! I’m probably not going to ever plan to come here, other than to meet friends, but I’ll continue to show up when I don’t feel like cooking or have spent too much time in the sun and have zero energy.
The drinks (and drink specials) are great and the food is pretty solid, too. They have delicious GF buns and the bison burger is a personal favorite! Some of the waitstaff lack social skills and interactions are super awkward, but besides that, food/​drinks come quickly and, like I said, are delicious.
If you’re around S Pearl or Wash Park and looking for someplace mellow, I would definitely suggest Hanson’s. I’ve seen people of all ages having meals/​hanging out, which sets it apart (in a way) from many other spots in the neighborhood that seem like they mostly cater to the 20 – 50 crowd.

Good place to grab a beer in the neighborhood. Great drink specials.
Just be aware that the patio smells like garbage.

Hanson’s has become one of my favorite local places for awesome eats, drinks and a chill atmosphere! It’s got a ‘where everyone knows your name’ feel to it.
Their burgers never disappoint-they’re big, juicy and great quality meat! Also the spinach-​artichoke dip is awesome. And for dessert-​try the peach cobbler. It’s AMAZING!
Quality food, service and feel to the place! Will always on the top of my eat-​out list!

Sometimes you want to go… Where some of the servers know your name… And the mood is always tame… you wanna be where you can see… Everybody’s troubles are real lame… you wanna be Where everybody doesn’t care about the game…
You wanna go where people know, that people have booze to blame… You wanna go where some of them, might recall your name…

This is a bar very similar to that of where Norm could rest his hat! Stiff drinks, ok food and bearable atmosphere… Never any problems with the clientele starting static and always something on the tube! Worth a stop-​in for sure!

Four years later and I’m still eating at Hanson’s. I have, in the 4 years, managed to learn how to cook, AND I can fit into those old jeans again, so I now enjoy the burgers more often than the salads. We live just a few blocks away so this is a regular place for us.
So why the 2 stars? Well, last night we went with Sean’s kids and explained that Nicole is allergic to nuts. We asked nicely to ensure her salad was nut free. Nicole is the kid that walks around with a cute little purse with an epi pen inside just in case. It totally sucks and we hate being those parents that have special requests… but that’s the way it is.
Our waitress brought our meals out in two stages — first mine, Sean’s and Sean’s dads. Then a few minutes later, the kids. The waitress said «it’s nut free– I double checked!» They were ready to dive in, seeing our food sit. Nicole grabbed her fork as I did a quick sideways glance… and saw her salad sprinkled with NUTS. Good thing I didn’t take the waitresses word for it!
Thanks, Hanson’s, for comping the salad for almost causing my fiancées child to go into anaphylactic shock and having an ambulance pull up and disrupt the entire restaurant to haul a sweet little kid to the ER. Yes, we will be back, but I will be a lot more demanding that the staff take the nut allergy seriously.

This is a true neighborhood gem down by the antique district. It doesn’t look like much from the outside (think drab curbside bar), but holy cow… the food here was top notch! We sat out back on the patio during a weekday lunch and didn’t have a problem getting quick service.

The waitress for lunch was really nice =] but service took a bit longer than I expected. I was pleasantly surprised that there was a coupon just for checking in on my Unilocal app! Go Unilocal!Haha
Their honey kissed fried chicken is to die for. It satisfied all my fried chicken cravings =]
