Octane Coffee & Tea Haus

This is my favorite coffee shop in Central and South Texas. I’m on the road a lot, and I try drop in whenever I pass through Castroville. Don’t get me wrong, the coffee is great. However, the service is is what sets this place apart. The owners are very personable and treat you more like a friend than just a customer. I just wish they had longer hours.

With an interior that would make an ideal image for a crossword puzzle, Octane Coffee & Tea Haus offers up a home away from home feel in the heart of Castroville.
The interior space is quite limited with just a smallish sofa, and a few wingchairs, but the filling stations covered drive-​up is filled with outdoor seating. Starting soon, the same location (the street) will host a Saturday Farmer’s Market.
The menu is limited but has all the hits. From basic coffee to lattes and chai, even a pumpkin-​spice chai, to a small assortment of baked goods, you’re sure to find something to warm you up or cool you down. Octane also has a variety of Tazo teas to choose from, if that’s more your speed.
The owners, both veterans, are extremely friendly. The space is kid friendly with toys and floor cushions for the little ones to frolic around. They also offer free WiFi and have indoor plumbing… One last thing — you might find semi-​feral cats in and around the coffee shop — be cautious.

I am in love with this little shop! Stopped by for the first time, and ended up talking with the owners for an hour, and they even have a dog friendly, shaded, out door seating area. They’re so sweet and they know their stuff! I was so impressed to find out they roast their own beans. This coffee snob gives them 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! I’ll be sure to come back.

Best place in Castroville to enjoy a cup of joe. The lady who runs the place is super friendly plus the give military discount. Free wifi is and added bonus plus she has some on most interesting customers!
It right off hwy 90, stop by for the experience of great coffee and company.

Very good coffee, great atmosphere. The people who runs the place are very sweet. Good place to work on things and drink some coffee. They also give student, small business, and military discounts! Beware you may get addicted to this coffee!
