My wife and I have been the lucky recipients of many nice pieces of pottery and other handmade gifts from the studio of Castroville Pottery. My mother-in-law started taking classes with Tim Kelley over two years ago, and since doing so, she has made some wonderful pieces. I was once invited to watch the process – as they would load the kiln and remove the products afterward. As a chemist, I was amazed to see how the glazes bursted with color after they were oxidized. I could clearly see how a «hobby» could quickly become one’s passion. Castroville pottery also offers a gallery filled with a variety of art pieces for sale, These pieces include vases, bowls, dishes as well as soaps and jewelry. I picked up a handmade shot glass that was one of a kind. So, if you are a fan of some great art or may be contemplating a new and exciting hobby, check out Castroville Pottery. You’ll see the camaraderie that has made Castroville Pottery well known for its family-like feel.

Great little shop featuring a few local artists with a wide range in style. They offer pottery classes in the studio out back as well. Catch them on Fiorella Fridays.
