They say they will price match, but not really. When asked about specific websites and whether they will match their prices(website prices, not merchant prices) the answer is no, and no explanation given. Also, if you buy a phone screen protector from them it costs $ 8 to have it put on your phone when other places at the Mall of America will do it for free. So if the screen protector costs $ 20 you pay 40% of the value on top of the product to have it set up. Finally, staff will give you attitude if they come to realize you know what you are looking for, have questions about the products but will not blindly buy them.

Nobody said hello when I entered. I was looking to replace the cord on my beats headphones. I wanted to make sure I was getting the right ones. I asked for help and the employees ignored me and played a video game!!!

Large store… But a bit messy for a Best Buy store. Good assortment… Cool new camera display allows you to try out the camera before you buy. Staff is generally friendly.

This review is strictly for the Sunday Morning Digital Photography Workshops. I found mine under the Unilocal Events and they have a few more of these 2 hour classes scheduled. No matter if you are experienced or just a beginner, this is a great FREE class where you get to listen to a seasoned professional give amazing tips, ideas on how to shoot, and of course, purchasing(which I must say, was not at all slanted toward Best Buy). I highly recommend this event. So it’s one of those ridiculous cold January mornings. I’m thinking this class will be fairly empty because of the weather. Nope. I was wrong. Sign-up is limited to 30 people and I was number 25 as I was a few minutes late. The beginning of the class consisted of Robert Evans(this guy has some serious cred: ) going through photos both of his own and others, discussing the pro’s, con’s, how certain images were shot, and also the luck(if you’re into photography, you know what I mean) that was involved in the shots. We split into two groups, working at and discussing action shots(they had a little King Kong mock city and other stuff set up), low light, portrait and landscape type shots. Most of the our shooting was done in manual mode where he explained on each camera, how you want to set things up in terms of your lighting input, f-stop, shutter speed, etc. All the while he was willing to look at what you shot, answer questions, and basically be a free resource in everything that’s photography. My biggest take away’s? — Reminder’s on photo composition. — I do not need to be a mega pixel whore. — A good lense is more important then the camera. — I’m not feeling so dumb with my camera anymore. At the end, they did a drawing for a camera stand, bag, and one other thing which I forget. Robert and the photo experts at Best Buy(they know their stuff too) continued to make themselves available for questions and were super helpful. If you see this review and are into photography, sign-up. You’ll be happy you did.

I tried to exchange my 180 dollar nose headphones that stopped working when they got knocked off of me and the male piece bent. The tall gentleman in glasses with straight hair says the protection plan doesn’t cover that and that he’ll refund me the protection plan and sell them to me for 100 bucks. I don’t know how that works but why would I want to get rid of my protection plan and pay him more money. Wasn’t very helpful his attitude as soon as I walked up was that it wasn’t going to happen. Wish I didn’t have to jump through hoops to get what I paid for. Update*** drove 10 minutes and was able to exchange it and get another protection plan for $ 3.76. Don’t give this store your business

I needed a replacement ear gel for my Motorola Sliver II Bluetooth headset. But Best Buy does not stock replacement parts for such consumables. I needed a comfortable, functioning Bluetooth headset while traveling in the rental car — so I was forced to buy a new Bluetooth headset. I asked the BB folks working in the Mobile phone area — they advised me they did not carry such replacements for the products they sell. I guess I’ll be sending a letter to both Motorola and Best Buy…

As the wise old saying goes, you should never say«never» since there’s always a first time for everything. For me, today was filled with many firsts. First of all firsts, I actually had a GREAT customer service experience at Best Buy. I feel like such a sell-out with my über-upbeat review of this place, but my experience was so overwhelmingly positive that I just have to just share it with everyone. Before I proceed, I suppose I should explain the background of my story. Yesterday, my Macbook Air’s powercord died on me. Since my semester just started and my laptop was already down to its last 20% of juice, I needed a replacement immediately. I initially wanted to go and get it at the Apple Store since I thought that all Apple products are pretty solid in their price range, but I ventured into Best Buy anyway for a quick sneak peek at their price tag. One of the employees there, Shahn, helped me find it right away and the«$ 79.99» price tag pretty much confirmed my theory. I was about to veer back and head to Apple after that, but Shahn intercepted me first by telling me about their Price-Matching customer service. Apparently, Best Buy is willing to reduce their price of the item to match with whatever the lowest one happens to be on the market. He helped me check on Amazon and we found one with a slightly different adaptor for $ 31.00. The one that had my type of adaptor was listed below it with the price of $ 71. What did Shahn do? He price-matched the item for $ 31!!! If I ever felt like winning a jackpot, it was at this store. Right at that moment. I literally almost lost my self-decency for it. When Shahn told me about the customer service survey that Best Buy has, I was adamant about giving him the best review ever written. Which brings me to my next first: today was the first time I went above-and-beyond to to fill out an online survey for a franchise store. Why was this so extraordinary? I had to go hobo and dumpster-dive my receipt out of a trashcan before I could do it. Oh, and this was at a trendy coffee shop, by the way. So much for self-image. Blame it on my old age and/or feeble brain, but I totally forgot about the survey and threw away my receipt before I could get to it. Apparently, Best Buy thinks people like to cheat and fill out surveys for fun so they require you to fill out the 3 different group codes on your receipt before you can rate your experience. Bah… With all things considered, if I wasn’t satisfied with a customer service, I would never go so far as to hobo myself out for a survey. Or share my embarrassing moment on Unilocal after the fact. Take my advice and check them out. You might just be the next person to feel like you hit a jackpot! PS Shahn, you da man!!!

The BEST service that I ever receive is at this Best Buy. On 3 separate occasions I have pulled the manager aside to compliment the employees of this location. It’s so frustrating to receive awesome service at ‘big box’ retailers. But, the staff at this location is doing it right!

Best Buy occupies the space in MOA that formerly housed Oshman’s.(I think it was called Oshman’s sporting goods… right??) Anyways I think it’s convenient for us out-of-state shoppers to have a Minnesota-based BBY here for us to grab a few CD’s or other electronic gadget items for our flights back. Friendly staff… typical layout. I enjoyed my quick visit to this location.

There were a bunch of other Best Buys, but oddly enough the Mall of America one wasn’t included yet. Yes, I could have reviewed the other ones, but I feel like this one is in a league of it’s own. Why? First, it was a hilarious section of «musical instruments» so in case you feel inspired by guitar hero you want to play a real instrument you can head over to Best Buy and get that Fender Strat you’ve always wanted. Secondly, it’s big and pretty and shiny. Thirdly, and most importantly there is this mythical Best Buy worker there that I saw the first time who greeted me and my boyfriend that looks like Jessica Biel. She walked by and said«Hi Welcome to Best Buy.» And never in my life have I been flabbergasted. I mumbled an embarassing teenage boy response that might have resembled some sort of language mixed in with a grunt. So yea, keep a look out for her. Fourthly, Best Buy is the go to place to buy dvds and other electronic doo dads.
