Where did you go?! We are regulars here and one night after popping in, my boyfriend and I noticed that we didn’t recognize anyone on the staff. We also noticed some subtle differences in the interior. It wasn’t long before we realized that we were in the same building we were used to but the restaurant was completely different! Apparently Hana took over recently. Not sure why, as the Izakaya staff was wonderful and the food was really good and very cheaply priced. But this area gets pretty dead in the evenings and on the weekends since it’s surrounded by a Monday through Friday workforce. Either way — food is still good and cheap and the new staff is just as friendly. We will continue to come here for a quick and great, meal!

Izakaya is now«sushi Hana».practically a joke. I was a frequent Izakaya diner. I looooved Izakaya, the food always fresh, friendly employees. Now, sushi Hana has poor management, the girl employees were snoby & somewhat inattentive. When I asked for my favorite thing there which is the«heart attack», she tried to tell me that it’ll take awhile to make it because it’s not on the menu and blah blah blah. Then I asked for straws and she says«yeah, I’ve got it» & puts the straws down. I’m big on customer service & let me tell you this sushi Hana place does not have it, poor management. Definitely not going back!

Izakaya WAS awesome, but it just turned in to a sushi hana. The McDonald’s of sushi. Don’t bother.

WOW, $ 1.50 for a nice soft and fresh cali rolls, where else can you find that? this place is grate for lunch. I hop in, sit at the sushi bar(they have rotating belt), grab few plates, and off I go. I love the convenience of it during the work week. Sushi is really fresh and moist. I don’t know why people are complaining about the lack of spice on Unilocal, but I personally think they are all VERYTASTY.

If you’re looking for high quality fish and fancy sushi rolls, this is not the place. If you’re looking for a good happy hour where you can get food and alcohol without breaking your bank, you’re in the right spot! They have $ 1.50-$ 4 options you can choose from. The list for the $ 1.50 plates is super long, so order to your heart’s desire! This restaurant has a sushi boat, so don’t expect super nice rolls. The ambiance of this place is really nice, and service here is really friendly and attentive. It seems like this place doesn’t get a lot of business because it’s in a sort-of-dead plaza.

I really like the sushi here. Its always fresh, and they keep it simple. The music is good, and the service is generally good. There has been a couple of times where the service wasn’t very good, and that’s why I’m giving 4 stars.

First visit today. The service was great and atmosphere relaxing. Good variety of dishes and prices are about average with other sushi restaurants I’ve visited. To be more specific on the service, they checked on me every five minutes to refill water(three times) and offer to have specialty dishes made up. If I had left wanting it was my own doing. I will be back!

I don’t eat raw fish so my review is for the cooked/veggie stuff. We arrived on a Saturday around 2:00 ish, not that many folks there. I am short so there is no way in HELL I can get up on their super high stools. Interestingly they had tables and they are kind of lounge like. The table is inbetween two lounge type seats. Interesting and would be comfortable if there was not so much space in between the table and your seat, I almost had to stand up. Anyway onto the food. That is one long conveyor belt, it goes all thru the Restaurant and it was fairly full of stuff we did not recognize. It had also been sitting there for quite some time. The Miso was decent. I ordered some Tempura Shrimp off the menu, it was hot and delicious. There was some weird roll with Bacon, not a fan. They also had some potato and onion thing which was ok would have been excellent if it was served hot. Next time I am going to skip the conveyor belt and just order off the menu, I want freshly made food. Total cost for two $ 19.00 not including tip. I never noticed anything about plate costs or weekend pricing, Service was fairly attentive.

No fresh crab? I’m sorry but every sushi place I’ve ever been offers real crab as an alternative to the imitation.

This is my fave go to sushi joint. Very clean, bright place, nice staff and tons of options! Beaverton roll, Volcano Roll, Baked Salmon roll and asparagus rolls are my fave. Be for warned, they are not open on Sunday even though Unilocal says they are– after braggin’ about how yummy they are I tried to take my MIL(from Bend) and found out the hard way… We’ve been coming here since they opened a few years ago and they have most definitely stepped up their ‘A’ game and lowered their prices(most plates are $ 1.50 or less) off the belt. They do have other thing to order if you prefer, and it looks delish and fairly priced but we’ve always just grabbed off the belt.

I am absolutely disgusted and infuriated with this place. My friends and I have eaten here in times past with decent experiences, but last week’s dining was atrocious. We ate there around 7pm on a Tuesday evening with very few other customers in the restaurant. After we were seated, the waitress took forever getting over to our table to see if we needed anything. She was nice enough, but came off very scatterbrained, given the fact that there were only 3 other people in the place… I went ahead and filled out their sushi order menu slip and asked for about $ 9 worth of ONEDOLLAR plates. While i waited for my food, my friend found a hair in her salmon roll. That was the first of our concerns as it instantly killed her appetite for the evening. I received all of my sushi, and it was decent, but the real problems arrived when the bill came. I was charged $ 1.50 a plate instead! I figured, hey, maybe it was a mistake, but when I called over the waitress, she continued to tell me that it was«happy hour» and that all plates were $ 1.50. When I explained that I ordered specifically off of the ONEDOLLAR menu, she just gave me this shitty«too bad for you, sorry» response. It became more and more infuriating. Eventually, the restaurant’s manager came out to speak with me about my bill and did the SAMETHING! «Well, all plates are $ 1.50 because we add more quantity to each roll to make it cost that.» … … WHAT?! I told her I didn’t see any signs posted anywhere for this happy hour menu, let alone, the price breakdown(I also didn’t order any drinks to constitute that). I continued to explain to her that it’s false advertising to lead people to believe they were getting $ 1 plates and scaling up the price on them without any indication. All she did was give me half-assed apologies and repeat herself. I then told her that my friend found HAIR in her food and she really didn’t seem to care. As I went to pay up for my shitty experience(against my will), I was asked by the waitress if everything was alright… I figured the manager would see what kind of experience we had here and at least try to make it right by charging me the prices listed on their own menu, or comping some of the meal after finding someone’s hair, but she didn’t. This place is out for a quick buck and really couldn’t give a shit about customer service. I will not be returning here, and I hope I can encourage others not to as well. Shame on them.

The staff is awesome. Really clean and the food is fresh. My sashimi and Unagi were ordered and the hot tea delicious. Great spot here in Beaverton with loads of parking. Close to Nike.

Came here a little after they first opened. It was horrible, especially how expensive it is. Sooo not worth it! I’ll never go there again! If you’re a sushi lover, believe me you’re not missing anything here. Horrible service, food & prices.

While there are other sushi train places i prefer to this one, it does have a few good things going for it. The service i have had here is always very good. Usually friendly, and if not, at least prompt and polite. Their food is mediocre, bordering on bland, but with a healthy dose of soy and wasabi it is ok. The one nice thing about the food is that it always seems fresh to me, even if it lacks seasoning. Also they serve decent hokkigai and unagi nigiri, which some of the cheaper sushi train places lack. All things considered, they are a fairly good deal. I always make it out of here spending $ 20 or less which is a pretty good deal, just… don’t expect a miracle for the price. Solid, but unexceptional.

This place seems to always have been good for me. The only time it didn’t go so well was the last time in which one of the sushi plate seemed to have gone around the conveyer one too many times! The rice was dried out and stale so it was very obvious! but it was during the weekend when all plates are $ 1.50 so I didn’t feel the need to complain. That same time I ordered Dragon rolls which are normally $ 3, but happy hour didn’t change that price. I still paid $ 3! The odd thing is, I requested another $ 3 item(I wanna say baked salmon) which can be found under the same category in which Dragon roll was in and they were discounted. So I don’t get it. What I do get is that I wasn’t expecting to pay that since the happy hour states that ALL sushi are $ 1.50. I didn’t complain since I would have paid that price when I don’t go during happy hour, but still! Anyway other than that one time, I do like the sushi here and I would go back. Its 20% off during 3−6pm on weekdays and $ 1.50 on weekends. I went and did all of em, happy hour, specials, and normal. Overall, 1 not-so-good experience out of 5. I ordered the sashimi on the first visit and they seem fresh. Rolls are good and prices are decent.

2 stars go to the service, and to the service only… Where as the waitress was awesome, very attentive and more than willing to help… Im here for Sushi! Fresh, tasty Sushi! I have to say they didn’t hit the mark though. First off, whenever I see the belts that serve sushi, I’m always a lil hesitant. AND when I see a 3 star rating on Unilocal,of course I would rather avoid it. But the wife made a good point, that I should try it out for myself, and see what my rating would be. She regretted that statement as well. The sushi wasn’t very fresh, which instantly will earn a poor review in my case. None of the sushi was very memorable, except for a roll that had a jalapeño and some other stuff in it… Couldn’t figure out the type of roll it was, but that’s OK, cuz we wont come back here for Sushi. I wanted a beer, and thought that $ 6 for a 22oz Kirin was a tad excessive, but still, I didn’t mind… But when I thought, «Yeah! I’ll try out the chicken katsu!» Which I make at home and LOVE. This Chicken Katsu was a sad excuse for a dish. The chicken was pounded so flat that all you really got was fried breading across the palate. The Katsu sauce was bluh, and I was totally bummed. I guess when an entrée and a beer cost the same price, buyer beware! My wife ordered the chicken teriyaki bowl, which surprisingly was decent, but it was loaded with rice and had minimal veggies and chicken. So this little excursion showed us that service is flawless, but the food and all else was lacking in a major way. I didn’t have my hopes up, and after spending $ 40, I would’ve hoped for something a little more promising.

This is one of the only sushi train restaurants I will go to and I adore it for the service. We used to go to a different sushi place which had about the same pricing but switched to Izakaya because their service is so much better. They also have the best yellow tail roll in town. My only disappointment is that their fried bits are NEVER even warm which makes me really wonder how long it has been circling and when you ask for one warm it comes off that cart to get heated. I do enjoy their uniqueness as well. Sushi is a bit of an art form really and they do several rolls which I have never seen at other restaurants as well as the old stand by rolls. Their prices used to be much higher but since they lowered them to match the other local restaurants they are also doing much better crowd wise yet the restaurant is still not crowded feeling at all. This is probably the nicest looking sushi restaurant in the Beaverton/Aloha area as well.

I think everyone can agree that there is a sketchy factor when it comes to sushi trains. Just how many times have they gone around? At Izakaya Kaiten the answer is simply, to many times. Accompanying the rolls around the track are water bottles, Capri Suns, cheese cake, and apple juices… huh? We ordered off the menu and from the looks of the rolls on the track I suggest you do too. Our order took awhile, and was nothing special once we got it. Cuts of fish were average, taste average, presentation sub-par. Have some dignity, this is a sushi bar not home town buffet!
