Awful! The food quality was really bad. Tandoori rotis were so dry that we were not even able to chew and a weird smell was coming from naan, could not even eat that. The curries were almost the same and the kofta balls were so hard that we had to make extra efforts to cut those. The quantity was ok but the taste was not at all fine. So all in all a bad experience.

I ordered delivery to my hotel since I didn’t want to go out in the rain. The food arrived in a timely manner. I had Biryani With Lamb, Mixed Vegetable Jalfrez and Paneer Pakora, all were good, but not knock your sox off. I was disappointed that they did not provide any plastic wear despite delivering to a hotel room.

Ordered takeout a couple of nights ago. once again, atrocious service but I cannot bear to dock them a star because the food was amazing yet again. We decided to order via their website this time so there would be no confusion as to what we wanted and also to avoid the guy answering the phone who speaks very very little English. this was a mistake as they never checked to see that an order had come in electronically. after waiting a full hour for our food we had to make the dreaded phone call. they apologized and we got our food about 90 minutes after we ordered it. it’s a good thing their food rocks. my updated advice is to order from their website and then call to confirm gnat they got your order.

I’ve been here for dinner several times when I’m in town. Location is convenient, and the ambiance & décor inside is clean and relaxing. I typically go with chicken korma, matar paneer or malai kofta– all delicious. Their use of spices results in a fragrant and pleasing dish every time. The garlic & basil naan is always freshly made, light and hot. I thought about trying the other Indian restaurant down the road once more, then decided it was just best to go to Spicy 6 again since I always have a pleasant meal here. If they had a more robust wine menu I’d give them 5 stars, but to be fair most Indian restaurants I go to have a very limited wine selection.

The best Indian food in downtown in my experience so far! Really awesome weekend lunch specials(I’ve been told they have an equally awesome weekday lunch buffet too). We came here yesterday for lunch and I had the $ 11 lunch combo with butter chicken, soup, naan, rice and a small side salad. We also ordered the lasuni gobi(deep fried cauliflower in soy and garlic sauce) to share for $ 8. Portions are generous and I can’t wait to eat my yesterday’s leftovers for lunch today ;) Everything is delicious, authentic and you really get a great value. Attentive service and they give you complimentary crisps with a side of mint chutney and tamarind sauce to start.

Embarrassing as it is, it was my first time trying legit Indian food. I gotta say, the food is really filling as long as you order rice. The food is quite expensive considering the size of dish, but then again they give you of complimentary sides. The service there was very nice, the owner and waitress would occasionally check if we needed to refill our water and other stuff. Also I told him it was first time eating Indian food I think the owner gave us more rice.

Excellent aloo gobi. Chicken Tikka Masala also good. Came between lunch buffet and dinner so service a bit slow, but food was great.

Warning! This place will rip you off! They never gave me a break down of the bill and when we got back to our room we started to wonder how our bill was so much for two people. After doing the math we realized they over charged us. Since they never gave us a detailed bill, one can only conclude it was intentional! As for the food, it was not good at all, we left half of it untouched. This place is small and they were playing weird Indian music makes for a unpleasant dining experience. On top of the strange music, there were several homeless looking dirty Indian guys eating in there. They appeared to know the waiter, I’m assuming they are regulars. One of them appeared to be sick and coughing. Talk about loosing your appetite!

Had a delicious meal here the other night– when trying to decide which Indian restaurant to try I knew Spicy 6 was the one as soon as I saw my favorite app on the menu. Started out with Lasooni Gobi which was all I could have hoped for. My local Indian restaurant at home retired this dish much to my dismay. Spicy 6’s rendition was perfectly spiced and seasoned and came out nice and hot. We decided to share an entrée of chicken tikka masala but ordered two garlic naans to go with it. I don’t know if it is a Vancouver thing or Spicy 6 thing, but we didn’t get any rice on the side included in our meal which we do typically get in NY. It wasn’t a big deal and honestly I think it was almost a good thing because we used our naan to scoop up the chicken and sauce and wow. Some of the best naan I’ve ever had! Service was friendly and prices were reasonable.

I’m a huge fan of good Indian food. Spicy 6 gives you just that. To get here you do need to go up a flight of stairs, which made me kind of question the place at first(blame it on the horror movies). However, once inside it was rather nice and cozy. We ordered the butter chicken curry and chicken curry as well as sides of rice and naan. Also, you can choose if you want your curry mild or spicy. They start you off with some kind of fried cracker things with sauce on the side(Basically the Indian equivalent of the chips Mexican restaurants give you I guess). Eating the rice and naan with curry was just delicious woohoo. There’s a lot of flavor in the curry and they give you a decent amount of meat(chicken in my case) in the curry. Personally I prefer the naan over the rice but they were both great. Our server was Korean and was very happy to see Korean guests. Service was great and I actually took a selfie with her because we had the same watch AHAHA. Overall great place I would highly recommend stopping by!

Spicy 6 handled a tough crowd impressively well, AND their food was delish! It is located in a really cool part of town(I was visiting Vancouver). There’s lots of places to walk around after dinner. The entrance has a small awning with the name on the main street. Once you see that, you’ll see stairs that lead you up to the restaurant. I went with a large(very loud) group. Let me tell you– our party was EXTREMELY demanding. Members of my party were intoxicated and calling for the waiters at their every whim as if no one else was in the restaurant. The waiters were so kind and appeasing. The service was fast. The food was phenomenal. They even dealt with our flakey reservation situation with grace. At the end of the dinner, one of my drunk comrades insisted that all the waiters give me a hug(don’t ask me why!). They appeased her, and we awkwardly embraced! ;-) But they were really nice about it all. So, this restaurant is definitely worth trying for the food alone(try the butter chicken… amaaaazzzziiinnnggg), but it’s also great if you are or your friends are, let’s say«special» :-)!

Really bad experience, they put tips(15%) on your bill,(we are group of 4, should no mandatory tips). And did not remind you, when you pay it and also ask for tips. We figure it out after paid bill. But the waiter doesn’t response and feel no sorry about that. And they even double charged rice and naan, which came with one of our main course. I will never go back again!

Haven’t been here for lunch, so can’t speak about the buffet. But the a-la carte is good compared to most of the places in downtown area. We had the veggie pakoras, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Methi, Veggie Jalfrezi & the Lamb saag. After trying most places in DT area, I’ve zeroed in on Spicy 6 to be the best among them. Food: Good Service: Friendly Ambiance: Casual Worth the price: Yes

I swear every time I eat Indian food its drastically different so I never know what to expect but this place was consistent and had foods full of flavor! The staff was also nice & the service was good: We ordered chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi, dahl, naan, roti, and paneer. We loved all of them. They weren’t too salted(though one parent of mine would disagree a little) but we were all satisfied and happy. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Spicy 6 gets Indian right. I didn’t have to mention Unilocal to get the lunch specials. There was a sandwich board right downstairs(and outside) advertising the lunch specials, as well as the samosas. They are right above the optical shop, where the Thai restaurant used to be. Lunch for $ 9.99 was quite the deal. Wait till you see the generous portions! I had the lamb curry. It started with a yummy, peppery vegetable soup — I love the soup! Next, came the main plate: a nice portion of lamb curry, a healthy portion of naan, some salad and lots of rice. Everything was tasty. The naan was especially soft and fresh, which was very pleasing. Curry was good, with nice spices. Option of Medium or Spicy, or «411» and«911», as I was told — very funny. I’ll bet he uses that joke all the time… Since then, we’ve also tasted the vegetable samosa(4 for $ 5), and they’re quite good, too. It looks like a family business, although I haven’t checked. All I have to do now is come in for dinner. Their prices aren’t low, but they aren’t soaring either. It’s quite affordable for nice Indian food.

Must be the full moon or something, but I’m giving away these 5 stars left right and centre ;) This is my new go-to place for Indian; I used to go to Sitar’s in gastown which is still preferable for a romantic night out, a bit more privacy as that restaurant has more sections, higher ceilings… but for $ 12.99 lunch buffet special, and truly great food, this cannot be beat. Especially in DT. It’s not your typical Indian décor, as this used to be the old Thai House, they fixed up a bit, actually, I just recalled brand new carpets. My favourite items: *pakora: a baked vegetable fritter, spinach/onions with a mild spice, herbs of some sort *butter chicken *fish curry *fresh salad This isn’t on their buffet, but their lamb korma is the signature dish. But here’s the reason for the bonus star: not one but two desserts! Rice pudding and gulab jamun, kinda like a donut dipped in honey… Good service, good English, and they do catering/delivery so dealing with the corporate market, they have experience. I can’t recall if there’s parking in the back, but if you happen to stroll through there, you can come up the stairs to the same side entrance on top.

YUM. Ordered delivery from here and found it much better than any other curry I’ve had in two years of living in Vancouver. Meat dishes were reasonably priced at $ 13/$ 14 and were a generous size. We tried a mild chicken korma and a hot tikka masala. Both were really flavourful and perfect in terms of spice levels. My only criticism would be that the korma was overly salty. The rice, samosas and naan were all excellent and only a few dollars per portion(each could be shared by two people). The online ordering(including the option to pre schedule) was extremely handy. Looking forward to my next excuse to eat here.
