I love this restaurant that is under new management since May 2011. The menu is simple but with a lot of value. I dine with my wife and we can share one order! Here’s what I order: Russian soup, pork chop, chicken Karaage and bbq ribs + fries + HK Café + 2 free teas = all for $ 13.95 !! Food is good, service is very good and very fast. Make sure you order from the value menu otherwise it might cost you a little more. The new name now is ABC Café HK.

New name ABC café HK. Chef from Hugo café on Cambie. Food is ok, nothing special. For $ 11.99 you can pick 2 items from the special menu ex. 5 chicken wings(small), beef tongue(tasteless but texture good) minute steak, pork cutlet etc. with choice of soup and hot drink. Add $ 6 and you get another choice of ribeye, lamb etc Food on average is ok, not terrific.

This is a pretty nice Hong Kong café. Weekends almost always consist of going to a HK café. Why? For starters, the menu is very diverse. There are quite a few options for everyone and the food is always ‘good enough’. What makes this place different, not much. The décor and location are probably the most important differences. It’s not upscale but looks like they tried to make it that way. Overall, the menu isn’t anything special and the food doesn’t sing any special tune. I am a fan of the pork chop plate and rice and the fish fillet… simple as you could imagine… but good. I do like their milky tea… but then again, I like almost every restaurants milk tea. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and serves you quite quickly. I’m sure we will be back again.

It’s been awhile since we came here. Normally I’d pass by and try something else. There are so many places to choose here and there’s places that I have to admit that are better. But I wanted a salad, no matter how bad it was, and I didn’t want to drive again to get it. So we decided to drop in and give it another whirl. This time for salad. Something that I’ve always feared to have in a HK café style restaurant. Orientals don’t eat salad, do they? Would the greens be fresh? Would it have a ton of mayonaise on it?(blech). At over $ 12 bucks for a salad only made out of iceberg lettuce, I couldn’t really see how it could be any good., or decent sized. Actually it was really big, lots of shrimps and fresh fruit. I think I counted 10 big pieces of Shrimp on top, half a melon diced up and half a head of iceberg lettuce. All of it was fresh and believe it or not. tasty. I didn’t like the fact they put mayonaise on it.(blech), but it was good enough to eat. I did enjoy it but couldn’t finish it. There was just too much food. I have a hunkering that these salads are meant to share with others. And if I come again, it will be for the salad and not the carb loaded dishes that you usually get here. Believe it or Not!

A Hong Kong style café(cha chaan teng that has been upscaled in décor. Food is quite good and quite typical of Hong Kong-style western food. Service was alright too. Nothing all that spectacular or horrible from my experience coming to this restaurant.

So I’ve been here a few times this summer, and I have to say, it’s pretty good for my family’s standards and I wouldn’t mind coming back to eat there with my friends. Just like any Asian café in Richmond, they serve up a variety of dishes in their menu. Some being Western Style dishes and Asian style dishes. They also offer up a good set dinner which includes choices between two items on your plate as well as the appies(appetizers) to go along with it. Steak, ribs, fish cutlets, pork cutlets are just the few that you can choose for your main and spaghetti, mash potatoes and rice are the appies. It’s pretty good too! The portions are also worth your money, which is a good thing if you are going out with a 6+ people. The service is also okay. But let me just tell you, it was really awkward with one of the waitresses. We had told her individually when asked what we were ordering, and a few minutes later she started taking some of out cutlery away. After my baked spaghetti arrived, I didn’t know what to eat it with because she took them away! It was all good though, because we told the other waitress to give us some cutlery. As for the appearance and the ambiance for this café, oranges, yellows and deep reds made it pretty warm and cozy. However what I thought was totally WEIRD was the GIANT colourful trippy looking cactus displays outside the entrance of the café. I don’t know why they were there, but whomever put those there have a very unique taste of style. And let’s not forget washrooms of course. Probably one of the things that people consider before going into a restaurant is to wash their hands in a clean washroom. Although the washrooms were clean and again brought the warm and cozy feeling, it was absolutely hilarious to find them. When you want to find a washroom in a place, the first thing to do is to probably look for a big sign. A big turn down is the sign for the washrooms in Seventh Heaven Café. It’s about 8“x10″, red, blends in the background, and the worst thing ever for it’s size is that it’s on the ceiling, and the ceilings are more than 10 feet high. So it’s a difficulty to find the washroom without having to ask your waitress/waiter/somebody who’s been to the place before. After all the things that weren’t really that great, I really liked this restaurant, and I would sure come back anytime. Good portions, good food, good prices, good atmosphere.
