I sort of like this pub, or at least I did the first time I came here (namely because of the large beer garden out the back, and it also has a rooftop deck, but that was closed), though when I came here the last time I was in Sydney I wasn’t all that thrilled with it. In a way it is good, but it isn’t. The beer garden is fantastic, and I probably spent most of my time out there, but other than that it is a fairly basic hotel that seems to attract the average person, and is not really the type where you will find the hip and trendy crowd hanging out. What it good about this place though is that it is just across the road from one of the entrances to Central Station, which does give it points in my books.

Traditional pub that still has Tooheys Old on tap (the way it should be).
Right next to Prince Alfred Park and Central Station. Good place to meet up with mates before a night out. Also a great place to relocate from your rained out BBQ in the park (damn Sydney weather!).
Large area around the back for dining (mind you, you can eat anywhere in the pub). There is a mixture of booths and tables with stools in the main area. Standard pub fare on the menu.
They have a lot of screens and as the lockout does not affect them, you can rock up here fairly late (I think they close 4 or 5) to checkout those Premier League games (I watched the Hammers play CFC with the respective supporters clubs present).

Colonial style pub showing a bit of Australia’s history in it’s design. I liked the enclosed bistro it is a light filled gazebo type setting with several ceiling fans and indoor plants. A really nice effect — would be great for a Sunday lunch and groups are encouraged. The food is really reasonably priced and a fantastic of great Aussie dishes meat and fish are available. This pub does take you back in time a bit and offers a nice relaxed feel — very conveniently located near Central Station it would be good to leave the car at home and have a few drinks and enjoy the evening.
