No. Just no. Food is bland and overpriced. Service is shit, you have to chase them down to order, get the bill pay the bill. No hot sauce! What kind of Mexican restaurant doesn’t have anything spicy?

One a half stars is a bit harsh Unilocalers! Don’t get me wrong — it certainly wasn’t 5 star Mexican but it was better than I was expecting given the past reviews. I visited for a friend’s birthday on a Monday night and the staff were great — attentive but not intrusive and were happy to have a joke with our table of four. I wasn’t blown away by their margarita even with its generous size. It tasted bit too sweet but still enjoyable enough — I did swap to trusty old Corona for round two though. Thought the serving size of the mains were fine — larger than I was expecting and fairly standard for the $ 23-ish they all were. My biggest gripe wasn’t about the taste of food — but what they name it! I’m sorry but it’s a burrito, not a Hewitt. I don’t care if it’s named after your most famous tennis customer. It was enough to turn me off ordering it. Although I did cave in and have the Agassi. What’s patriotism again… The food lacked the punch you would expect from Mexican and the restaurant seems to play on too many stereotypes to be authentic(sombrero and fake moustache given out for photo ops? No thanks…) but it was still a nice meal out. Having dined at La Tortilleria the week before it was clear these guys weren’t quite up to standard though.

We came here with a group. So first we were placed upstairs, which caters to larger groups. But it was so loud and so warm up there, with many bodies crammed in and ear piercing screams from little babbies. We ordered nachos for the table which came out pretty quickly and there were heaps of them. Bang for buck — check. Now, when you first look at the menu and see an average main price of $ 23 – 25, don’t be discouraged. Look at other people in the room and look at how much food is going to come out. We saw the sheer volume of food around the room and the amount of waste and still stupidly ordered a main. The food wasn’t mind blowing, to be honest it was fairly bland and again way too much. The Agassi burrito was ordinary and the chicken Quesadilla was average. The ladies that looked after our table were fabulous and they were incredibly patient with our group. So thank you. They do however have a pretty good selection of tequila. The shot we had was very smooth with no nasty after taste. Shame I didn’t get the name of the brand.

Bad food, insanely small portions, ridiculously overpriced, appalling long wait and after 40mins wait guess what… hair in my food.

If you have read ANY of my reviews, and of course you have, you would know I am 100 per cent OBSESSED with Mexican food and drink. I honestly think I was born in the wrong country. Needless to say, you really have to try if you want me to be disappointed by a Mexican restaurant, and I think Fiesta’s was really trying. The food is crazily over-priced for what is essentially slop on a plate, and all the servings are very small. I ordered a taco(you have to order them individually) and was very sad when it arrived in front of me… My table and I were all very disappointed, especially considering this is apparently Lleyton Hewitt’s favourite restaurant?! One thing I can say about Fiesta’s is that they make a damn fine margarita which comes in an obscenely big fishbowl glass. Perhaps if we’re drunk enough we won’t notice the lacklustre food…
