These guys have all the usual deli delights but are also the go to people for weird and wonderful ingredients needed only during special times of the year… like mahlap and mastiha needed for Easter bread recipes… couldn’t find those two ingredients no matter how hard I tried in the hills area… and the bread just ain’t the same without them… Top quality hams, olives and cheeses and lots of other wonderful Italian products like chinotto and aranciatta… definitely worth a visit if on the lookout for gourmet ingredients, some a little pricey but you get what you pay for so all worth it!

Waited 10 minutes for service on a Sunday afternoon. When my number came up, they skipped straight over me, and when I called them out on the error, the clerk said everyone makes mistakes, and they continued ignoring me. Will take my money elsewhere from now on.

Love the fresh beautiful range of items at this deli. The cold meats are amazing! Love the Calypso salami it is beautiful and spicy. Fresh salads and feta are mouth watering. The owners and workers are really great and friendly and alas way happy to help and give you taste tester with no obligation to buy. Love the old fashion service.

Looking for an old fashioned deli as opposed to a cold meat shop, I came across Deli Del Mondo in Castle Towers in Castle Hill. They carry full range of European groceries as well as hard o find cheese and take home meals. Always busy, it’s often hard to get a spot at the front of the cold meat window where they have both Italian and Australian prosciutto, South African Biltong and good old Aussie sausages. You can take a trip around the world with their packet goods: lots of interesting packets from numerous countries sit on their highly stocked shelves. In the fridges around the walls at the back of the shop are Italian pasta meals, Indian takeaways and Greek Pastizzi. Tony, Peter and their mum run the deli with plenty of staff on hand when they get busy. I try to go when they’re not busy so I can have a chat about the latest thing they’ve got in. Definitely one of Sydney’s better delicatessans.
