We were lucky to have as our server Jason, an energetic, charismatic and very passionate foodie. His recommendations were spot on, from the drinks to the appetizer and entrees. We had everything he suggested and he didn’t steer us wrong. The food was fantastic! My husband and I both got specials; a half a smoked chicken and campfire Red Snapper. Service was quick and everyone was friendly. Our only disappointment was that we didn’t get to try more. We wanted to come back for our last night in PR, but they weren’t open. They’re not open every day of the week so check their hours, plan ahead if you need to, but don’t miss this place!

We adored everything about this place! We were told the wait would be 35 minutes when our part of 4 showed up without reservations on a sat night, but were seated in about 20. In that time we easily forms spots at the bad and enjoyed tasty sangria and an incredible cucumber-ginger margarita. Our waiter was jovial, informative and just the right amount of attentive. The vibe is fun and the the décor is kitschy. I had my first mofungo experience, with mahi and shrimp, and the flavors were incredible. Others in our party thoroughly enjoyed the papaya salad, empanadas, chorizo, and pork medallions We had not 1 complaint, and were delighted that we ventured off the resort to find this little gem. Do NOT miss this!

Had to wait about 10 min for a table even though there were several open tables. Went to the bar(cash only) and enjoyed a pineapple margarita, which was outstanding! The bartender was very sweet and made you feel right at home. She asked about what we had seen and gave us recommendations. Our sever, Pedro, was incredibly attentive. He recommended the whole snapper, which we could split. It was cooked to perfection! Best fish I have ever had. Had several people stop and ask how we were. Pedro wrote down a few places to eat while here and some must do things. Great food, even better service! We asked about the pig roast that we had heard about in other reviews and were informed that they do that only during Christmas season.

2 words– pineapple mojitos. So dangerous, so good. The food is also really amazing. So good, we went twice in one week, in fact. I had the Mahi Mahi ceviche w baby coconut arepas, and the BBQ chicken breast and ribs, served w tostones with yummy large flakes of sea salt(soooo good– see note to pineapple mojitos). So delicious– the meat was juicy and whatever they rub it in is AMAZING. Just saying. The Lobster was also really good, as are the pinchos and lobster salad. Can’t go wrong.

Amazing food! The chicken was smoked and then fried and the flavor was fantastic! The sangria was also wonderful! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner!

Great space in an old gas station, serving typical Puerto Rican food. Had the grilled Red Snapper with pineapple and mango salad. The flavor of the fish was wonderful I could taste a smokey, yet not to spicy seasoning on the skin, it just melts in your mouth. It came with a delicious locally made arepas. My husband has the seafood mufungo, which was delicious as well. They had hot dogs & fries for my daughter, which was great because she missed food from home. The cocktails are also amazing. Can’t wait to return.

Great food! I had the Chicken Mofongo and it was awesome! A couple of my crew had the skirt steak and it was melt in your mouth good! The atmosphere is also very cool, being a former gas station. The service was outstanding. We had Jason as our waiter and he was awesome! If you are in Fajardo, you must eat here. It’s a can’t miss!

YES. JUSTYES. This was such a beautiful restaurant with an amazing outdoor patio space. The building is covered with lush greenery and amazing local growth. It looks like something out of a story book. There are warm patio lights, lots of tables in the dining area, and the décor is very inviting and colorful. The service was also very patient, welcoming, and helpful — they did an amazing job taking care of our large party with ease and efficiency. Obviously while we were here, we HAD to try the lobster. They brought out the live lobsters for us to look at before preparation and they are INDEEDFRESH. The papaya salad that accompanied the dish was also divine. The salad was really flavorful, slightly sweet, and well dressed — went perfectly with the lobster. The lobster was butterflied then grilled outdoors and there were beautiful char marks on the crustacean. The meat was expertly cooked and not too over-done. We also tried the skirt steak which was slightly over-cooked but still very enjoyable. Lastly, we tried the BBQ pork ribs which were seriously so killer. The meat was juicy and tender, and the there was a good amount of char to give it a smokey flavor. HIGHLYRECOMMEND! We really enjoyed this meal. Ambiance was perfect, service was top notch, and food was authentic and fresh. I would love to come back in the future!

We loved your restaurant so much that we returned the 2nd night we were in Fajardo. Great staff, excellent drinks and desserts, too. Had the grilled skirt steak on the second night and the red snapper on the first night. Amazing fresh grilled red snapper with tropical salsa. Hope to return someday.

Definitely the best seafood meal of the trip! Had the whole fish with the papaya salad and bread. I devoured everything! The staff was also very accommodating to our large 17 person group even with a little bit of a fiasco with the bill. Everything is locally sourced and organic as much as possible. Specialty include the lobster and while fried fish. The fish came w these fried breads which were so delicious, as well as the fish!!! Can’t go wrong with eating here before kayaking.

Very very good. We went here for dinner between our catamaran trip and kayaking in the bioluminescent bay. We both had mofongos. I had the steak cook rare. I did not try the other. Nice venue-outdoor area with a roof basically. Ample parking and we got there at opening so it was nice and empty with no wait. The steak had an amazing char flavor. I would go again!

We stopped in on a Sunday evening and were told we came on the right night! There was a Sunday night pig roast happening. Being vegetarian I thought, «oh, great.» But I was wrong. The veg board comes with many options, and more than all fried! The rest of the group split a special arepas and the pig board. Dessert was thrown in on the house and it was surprisingly very good. The whole group raved about this meal days later. Easy, Brookyln-esque vibe with indoor and covered outdoor seating. Full bar.

While staying at El Conquistador we read about La Estacion. I also had a friend who raved about it when she visited Puerto Rico last year. The ambience was quite nice, the old car garage was clever. Service was decent. The servers are friendly and helpful but it a bit slow. Even though I had ordered the lobster at a different place the night before, I had to go for it again. I also ordered rice and beans and papaya salad with a mango mojito. My boyfriend ordered the lobster with tostones and papaya salad and churrasco mofongo. It was his birthday. The mango salsa on the lobster was a nice touch. The rice and beans were just that. The papaya salad was good but we both agreed it has to lose the ginger. It overpowered it. But the mofongo! Oh my! The best we’ve ever had! It was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. We’d go back for that for sure! Overall, a great place. Get the mofongo. It’s the best and cheaper option! Tasty!

We came here for dinner and while the ambiance is good, the food and service was not great. We sat down and waited about 15 – 20 minutes for a server to notice us. I ordered the grilled fish special and requested the smallest size if possible. It’s about $ 20/lb, which is very expensive. The fish was a bit bland and the skin on the board was more burnt than blackened. My friends ordered the mofongo and there wasn’t a good balance of protein versus potatoes. I have to admit the décor is nice and it’s nice that they’ve turned it into something beautiful from a gas station, but from a food aspect, it’s not something to drive out of the way for.

Everything we expected. Lauren was a great, friendly and informative server. Decent drink menu. Had red sangria and a cocotazo. Appetizers were delicious: house smoked chorizo with horseradish sauce was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Caribbean wings also juicy and sweet and spicy. Pork loin pinchos were the best. Grilled with veggies on a skewer. Juicy and flavorful. Lobster and octopus mofongo was so good but hard to finish. It’s filling. Ran out of ribs so they substituted pork chop with the chicken. But hubby liked both. Said chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. I had a Caribbean lobster grilled with salsa. It was juicy and rubbed with spice. We r staying at el conquistador and could practically walk here. Great choice for our last dinner on the island.

Everyone was starving after the zip line trip in the morning hence we picked a barbecue/seafood restaurant to feed our appetite. When I called to make reservation, they actually told us that it was already fully booked! We made a smart decision by stopping by right after it opened at 5pm and successfully secured our 8-people seat. Both food and drink were awesome, especially the huge lobster(3 pounds) that they grilled with fruits, delicious! The daily special grilled sausage was also tasty however the bread accompanied impressed us more. Barbecue combo was to the smaller side for share I love my tequila sunrise cocktail, perfect alcohol juice mix!

A local artist we met recommended we check this place out, since we kept returning to nearby Luquillo beach. Be aware, La Estacion is only open for dinner. Overall this place was one of our favorites while in PR. The food was fresh and delicious and thoughtful. We had a delicious lobster salad that was on special, the wings which are fantastic, and the swordfish special. Dessert and drinks were also both excellent. Service was spectacular, and I really appreciated that all of their sauces, marinades, and even the ice cream, was made on the premises from scratch. The food is also lighter and more produce focused than a lot of the food on the island. Go! You’ll love it.

I guess if I didn’t eat and cook this type of cuisine on a regular basis I would be a bit more generous with my stars. In actually they earned the fourth star due to presentation. Let’s face it a full length fish grilled and laid on a cutting brought to your table and anything served in a typical Puerto Rican mortar is impressive looking. My dinner guest’s shrimp and fish monfongo was great according to her taste buds however my fish of the day was quite bland. Any good chef knows fish will take on the infused flavor. Cooking it over charcoal on a open grill is great but may I suggest brushing it with a little white wine beurre blanc or cooking it over natural flavored wood even. I was not overly impressed by the lack of flavor from this way over sized catch of the day that clearly should have been offered for two. I will admit my arepas were very good and my papaya salad was awesome but the main attraction fell a bit short. A bit pricey for typical upscale PR cuisine. Try it for yourself but beware I had much better.

Wow. This restaurant is outstanding. My girlfriend and I were welcomed by the sweet serenade of the coqui frogs as we approached the hostess table. We didn’t have a reservation, but it was a nice night and decided to sit on the patio and enjoy the sounds along with the breeze. The restaurant was converted from a gas station, which is cool but not particularly unique these days. Casually stylish outdoor décor with a relaxing natural atmosphere. We did not check out the interior. Being a little late and a lot hungry, we went straight for an lobster salad appetizer while they prepared the main course. The lobster was plentiful, fresh, and tender – we left nothing on the plate. We both ordered cucumber mojitos, which sounded great but were boring and bland. My girlfriend had a whole yellowtail snapper, which was plump and grilled to perfection while retaining the natural moisture. Amazing, fresh fish. I don’t know what kind of round bread they served with it, but it was great. I had a grapefruit mofongo, which was surprisingly superior to any plantain mofongo that I’ve had. The mofongo was loaded with the absolute best octopus I’ve ever had. Again, fresh, tender, and plentiful. The service was outstanding. They were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The owner also took the time to greet the diners and cracked a few jokes, which is always a nice touch. The hostess was accommodating, even though we arrived without reservation. Thank you for that. La Estacion is a warm and welcoming restaurant with an enchanting atmosphere and absolutely outstanding food. Best meal we’ve had in Puerto Rico, which has many great restaurants – don’t miss it if you are staying in Fajardo.
