I was choosing between Blue Bahia and La Estacion, I wish I had gone to La Estacion. La Estacion happens to be closed that day. You could glam it up and call it a seafood restaurant, but really it is a seafood shed. The service is ok, the food is slightly slow, it takes a while for it to come out from the kitchen. It is not exceptional at all. I bet the only reason that it is so busy is that all the kayak tours to bio bay or other tours leaves in the proximity, where else can you go if you have to take off within half an hour or an hour? Go to La Estacion, which is very close by, I wrote an review for it too. The price is similar, the venue is better, the food is 100 times better.

This review comes after only limited experience with dining in Puerto Rico. But I think it’s worth getting Blue Bahia Seafood on the Unilocal roll. Blue Bahia is a typically casual seafood restaurant. We went with one hour to spare before a bio bay kayak tour so we all ordered light and what we had hoped would be fast — a caesar salad for my finicky daughter, two orders of a hotdog w/fries for my sons, mozzarella sticks for my vegetarian wife, and the Mahi Mahi fish chunks appetizer for me. The service was painfully slow BUT… I think there were a LOT of factors. First, it’s Puerto Rico and the locals seem to hang out at restaurants for hours on end, unlike we United Statesians who rush through our lives. Second, the town had no water supply on the day we visited – no fresh water whatsoever – and that’ll screw up *any* restaurant. And lastly, when the time for our tour got uncomfortably close, we explained our situation to the waitress and she sprang into action and got our food to us pronto. The french fries were great :-) my daughter hated her salad(she hates everything), the mozzarella sticks were as expected, and my Mahi Mahi chunks were really delicious. Our waitress even brought out an extra order of piping hot Mahi Mahi chunks. Very cool. A Puerto Rican couple was sitting at the table next to us. They seemed to have no problem with the pace, and their seafood paella dinners looked and smelled great. Knowing what I know now, I’d go back as long as I had some time to burn. I’ll be curious to hear from other Unilocalers.
