Fuimos a comer en Leiden a esta cafetería porque nos lo recomendó Unilocal!Y fue todo todo un acierto.
Nos quedamos en la terraza, porque aunque hacía algo de fresco, estaba bastante animada y la plaza (tan bonita) invitaba a quedarse.
Tomamos uno de los típicos sandwich acompañado de una cerveza … como eramos 4 y la carta tiene cuatro tipos de sandwich, cada uno de nosotros eligió uno y al final terminamos intercambiando. Queso viejo, salmon, beef, … y el otro no lo recuerdo, … sería el especial?.
La presentación excelente, en una tabla, acompañado de unas patatas y con cubiertos para ir partiendolo (son de tres plantas … y el pan no es de molde).
Nos atendieron muy rápido, nos sirvieron la comida muy rápido, y nos dio tiempo a coger el barquito para hacer el típico recorrido en barco para turistas por los canales (que merece la pena y nos gustó un montón).

I would never have believed this if a friend hadn’t dragged me inside, but this is one of the best cafes in Leiden.
Great selection of coffees, teas, simple food (sandwiches mostly), and just a lovely atmosphere (I swear). You’d never guess since it’s located on a rather dire square in central Leiden in what looks like the remains of a trailer home. But trust me. Just give it a shot.
Free wifi, central location and ample seating (and chilled-​out staff) make it the perfect place to do some work on a rainy day.
Major free tip: Order the sweet chili cappuccino. It will change your life.

De Catwalk has the best coffee I’ve had in the Netherlands. Their espresso and cappuccino also happen to be fair trade by Segafredo.
They also have a nice selection of loose teas and of course the ubiquitous fresh mint tea.
Their muffins, brownies, appeltart, and cheesecake are so good and perfectly compliment their coffee and tea. The chocolate muffins and cappuccino muffins are my favorites. If you are a little more hungry or prefer something savory, their toasties and other sandwiches are very delicious.
The location is great with many big windows that let in any sunlight if it’s not so nice out or you need to focus on homework. if you prefer, when the weather is good, there is outdoor seating for people watching and soaking in a little sun.
They also have wifi! it’s my favorite spot for studying in the afternoons.
