This chocolate shop sells some of the best handmade chocolates in town. They are tiny so you can easily get a wide variety(and you will definitely want that!). Very friendly staff, reasonable prices. Excellent quality, we wish we had picked up an extra box to bring home. Make sure to stop in while browsing the outstanding antique shops along the same block.

A small shop on a street for antiques and art, the shelves lined with numerous products, I immediately asked the proprietor what the best items he had were. He replied his own chocolates, not made in the store, but made for him. I bought two of each small chocolate my wife would like, for a total of 12 chocolates, to share. Absolutely wonderful!

If I could give more than five stars to this little shop(tucked in one of the many sidestreets that dot Amsterdam) I would. Before I get into the shop itself, The wife and I need to note the owner and hostess. She is, without a doubt, the nicest person we’ve ever encountered in any shop, restaurant or store. She truly cares about her wares, and seems to care in turn about your experience and that you be happy while you are there; if anyone ever earns the designation«hostess» it is her. For lack of a better descriptive, she is grandmotherly in the best way. My wife would insist(and I would agree) to give this shop five stars based on her service alone, even if the shop was drab and the chocolates mediocre. Fortunately, neither is the case. The chocolates are universally excellent and artisinally produced. She sells them in packaged form to take with you and savor in your home; however she also prepares a hot chocolate for you to enjoy in the shop or on the go, and it is incredibly rich without being too sweet. While not exactly inexpensive, it is also more than in-line with high end chocolates in Europe. What about the store itself? Well, the sense that our hostess belongs in a Harry Potter book as a kindly, magical shopkeeper is enhanced by the store’s appearance. It radiates warmth as it is filled with chocolate-related antiques and knickknacks, charming designed displays and shelves overstuffed with quaintly designed sweets packaging. But make no mistake: the shop itself is meticulously clean and neat. As you can tell, I and my wife could gush about this shop for a long while. But I’ll leave you with: go visit and say hello.

There is so much chocolate selection here that it is difficult to walk away without a bag full of chocolate and an empty wallet. And it’s all delicious! But also expensive. They have all sorts of pre-packaged chocolates from all corners of the world with all sorts of flavorings, and they also sell these tiny cute little chocolates they make themselves. They’re so small and each has a different flavor so you can have a one bite flavor experience and then move onto the next chocolate victim. It is truly an epicurean delight. If you are celebrating a special occasion you might want to check out the big guns behind the counter — the champagne and truffles located in the mini-fridge behind the counter. Serious indulgence there!
