Great service, simple menu with great food choices … Staff super friendly … The carrot cake is excellent

The food was really great but the service was awful ! The waiters was to busy to talk with some friends or sending message to take care about the customers… La nourriture est vraiment bonne ! C’est le service qui m’a déçue ! Les serveurs nous voient mais né semblent pas trouver utile de s’occuper de nous… Service lamentable…

The food is great! Modern European with a twist. Try the tuna steak… Not cheap but really good! A shame that the service is a little slow.

hahah the review below makes me laugh — anyone coming from the US expecting US service should just take a stay-cation. Welcome to Dutch service, welcome to 3 hours dinners and 5 hour brunch. Get the panekokken, they make it the best here, and atmosphere is edgy, chic, and artsy/fun. Really a great reprieve from the streets.

We were searching for food and came upon van Harte. The menu looked interesting and was a fairly good deal at 3 courses for 25 €. We got one 3 course and one entrée; split the crawfish cakes, started out good until a hair got in the mix. Yuck. My duck dish was actually quite good but the crème brûlée was kind of weird. Served with ice cream and whipped cream and on the shallow side. Service was blah and when we tried to swipe our cards, neither worked. I know chip readers are a big thing in Europe but this restaurant couldn’t deal with a swipe card which was a drag. I def gave them too much of a tip but at least the guy trying to swipe our card was nice.

Amazing food, horrible service. Maybe it was an off day for the waitress, who knows. I would totally recommend this place and ill be back just be prepared to wait. I had a tuna sandwich — delicious! Everything looked good and the prices were very reasonable.

Eating in the Nine Streets can be a gamble, since too many places squeak by on average food but wonderful settings. Van Harte shatters this complacency with a fist of iron and precious gems. The food is fantastic here. There’s a moss-covered Kate Moss on the inside(seriously) and the service is, well, adequate. Dutch service will likely never be as speedy and friendly as the US(sorry, I’m biased), but it’s fine here. The space is larger than you’d expect. And they have La Chouffe. If you haven’t had this particular beer, I highly recommend it. It will put hair on your chest. It will also put hair on your toes, making you look like a Hobbit or something.

A great pit stop to fuel up for shopping in the 9 Streets area. The lunch portions were more«American» sized than I expected them to be. I had the carpaccio sandwich with truffle mayo. If you like beef(like I do) and like your cows mooing when served(also like I do), then this open face sandwich will make you grin from ear to ear. Next time, I’m planning to order the steak tartar sandwich. The person next to me looked like they were in heaven as they ate it. It does look like 3 raw hamburger patties in top of french bread though so you really have to love your raw beef. My friends had a salad with the largest piece of melting cheese on top — it looked like a whole wheel of brie on top of greens — so if you’re ordering a salad for dietary reasons, I recommend ordering something else. My only complaint was it was a little dark in there. I like to be able to see my food, especially at lunch. When the sun is shining out, it’s a little odd to be sitting in mood lighting.
