This is a cozy little restaurant and I like it. The only reason I give it 3 stars only is because the food is not outstanding. We tried the braised prok belly, smoked halibut followed by entrecôte and plaice. It was all good but nothing to rave about. I would go back here for the ambience and the feel. The food so-so.

Beautiful, cozy spot recommended to us by our concierge for good, local food. We were impressed by the creative presentations(beginning with, for instance, a «vegetable crème brulee» that was elegantly delicious), and use of unique ingredients. Nothing gimmicky here, though– in spite of being thoughtful and elaborate, neither the food nor the servers were in any way pretentious, and the prices were completely reasonable. This was spot-on, Dutch food prepared with a modern twist– exactly what we had hoped for. My very traditional herring, for instance, came on a beautiful dish alongside a very non-traditional cold white beet soup, a surprisingly apt complement to the saltiness of the fish. We also tried the house wines, which were equally affordable yet delicious. Certainly one of the most memorable and enjoyable meals we’ve enjoyed so far in Amsterdam!

My wife and I stumbled upon this restaurant during a trip to Amsterdam and Paris. It happened to be near our hotel and we had ward by it multiple times on our trip which prompted out visit. Inside is a small cozy restaurant with a few tables. When reflecting back on our trip my wife an I agreed it was one of the best meals we have ever experienced. Neither of us are impressed easily and this place very much delivers.

We spotted this restaurant on a walk and its ambience called us in for dinner. What a wonderful dining experience we had! We received a warm welcome, the wine list is eclectic and reasonable and the service superb. The kitchen creates dishes which are unusual blends of 4, 5 or 6 distinctive flavors, blended in harmonious ways. The food was unique and memorable, so much so that we went back a few days later for a reprise. Our second visit was as memorable as our first. Don’t miss this place!

Went here in Nov’10 while on vacation and had a wonderful meal and enjoyed attentive, friendly service! It was my first time having skate fish, and our server(who I think was also the manager in this very small restaurant) sensing my inexperience offered to remove the fish from the bone for me explaining that they leave it on the bone for presentation but that the many tiny bones can be difficult to navigate. His jovial manner prevented any awkwardness while he prepared my plate like a parent. There was also a lovely amuse bouche of carpaccio and a fantastic cheese plate after our main courses. All was very high end food, but the place is not stuffy at all. We arrived on our rented bikes, wet from the rain, and wearing travel clothes and they welcomed us right in and made us feel at home.
