I love this place! It’s the kind of bar that makes you want to cozy up and stay for hours on the big wooden benches in the back, with a bunch of beers, a vegan pizza, and a group of friends or even a date. The vegan pizza is what dreams are made of.

Service is shite, even by Amsterdam standards… unfriendliness staff on the planet.

I’m not a real beer connoisseur but I will definitely partake when I’m out with friends — especially at Tripel! They have your standard beers, but also an extensive list of potent Belgian beers too, most of them served in their proper Instagram-worthy glasses(I had the test tube, need to go back for the horn)! However, they do tend to run out of some beers fast, so make sure you have a second and even third backup option ready when you order. I would really skip the cheese plate if you’re tempted to try it — it seemed like such a good deal when we looked over at other tables who got a gigantic loaf of bread and whole wedges of cheese, but everything was so bland. The rest of the menu looks promising though(most entrees served with FRIES yessss) so I’d definitely try them again around dinnertime. This place is also impressive because it looks relatively unassuming from the street, but the inside hides a massive two floors with enough space that you probably won’t feel cramped when it gets packed. And for all the shorties out there: the seating along the wall is feet-dangling high which I found hilarious!

A beer bar? Check A beer bar with tons of beer selection? Check A beer bar that serves vegan food? Check A beer bar that plays good 90s music? Check This bar is great, and as a fellow Unilocaler from Amsterdam John G pointed out to me, this bar is especially great because they serve the beer in their own respective glasses, although I failed to order the beer that came in a horn glass(must try that one next! Coming from Scandinavia, although not a proper Viking, I need to take a selfie me gulping a beer from a(glass) horn! There’s hipster-ish vibe hanging in this bar, but which bar that serves craft beer that is not hipster-ish these days? I’ll take hipsters than bodegas anytime, thank you very much. However, this bar doesn’t quite get its fifth star because it doesn’t accept credit cards! Seriously NL, what’s up with that? Try to catch up with the rest of(northern) Europe, will you? So if you’re in the vicinity of this bar and wants a visit, make sure you got some Euro stuffed in your wallet!

Great local pub feeling. Excellent service to match their beers and food. I had two of their Stouts and the Veggie pasta of the day. Plan ahead by reserving a table or go early. The place fills up around 8:00. It’s a little dark so be prepared to use your cell phone or flashlight to see the menus(beer and food).

This bar was recommended to us by the Quince @ Bar Oldenhof as we were waiting for a table there. Beer fans, this is another good spot to hit in the Jordaan. There is plenty of space. Excellent for groups. And with 13 beers on tap and 200 more from the bottle, there is plenty to choose from. Mostly Belgian. None of the 4 that I had disappointed but the Double Espresso one was definitely the most memorable — mmmmm lekker!
