I’ve been here 3 times over the course of 6 years and each time I’ve been extremely happy. Their deer steak (when they have it as it’s a special) is excellent! The menu changes but so far I’ve liked every single dish I’ve tried. Pasta with shrimp and scallops in white wine sauce was delicious as was the special of the night: duck filet over mashed yams and spinach. Yum! Also if it helps, each time we’ve been to this restaurant we brought two friends who also ended up loving the food. Prices are mid range (special was 18.50 €) and portions are just right. 4.5 stars: –0.5 because there were some tiny flies that bothered us during our meal. Food and waitress are excellent. Definitely will come back the next time we’re in town.

My band and I could not stop coming back here! The burgers at this pub were quite possibly the most amazing tasting plates of awesome I’ve ever consumed! I asked for Double Cheese and added Bacon and my tastebuds nearly overloaded from pure delight! The servers are extremely attentive and very polite– definitely a place to stop in, especially if you have the munchies!

Excellent service; our server made certain we had plenty of water, made very good suggestions according to tastes, and brought us some interesting candies after our dinners!
The presentation beautiful, and the flavors wonderful, the goat cheese salad is delicious, my steak was perfectly done; the frites, well, they were great too! We would highly recommend!

Stopped by here on our first day in Amsterdam. It was perfect. Warm and friendly with a bar at the top, a restaurant at the bottom and a coffee shop to the left. We satisfied our thirst with some good tasting beer, nuts for snacks and an iPod shuffle that played such good good GOOD Brit Pop and 90’s Hip Hop. This was the place we frequented when we woke and the place where we frequented when winding down after a long day out and about. If I ever make it back to Amsterdam, I will deff come back here. Good place to sit and warm your bones to enjoy a pint or a cup of tea.

I love this little café, tucked away from all the tourists and chaos of the Leidseplein.
Great for a casual little drink or getting sauced, whatever your mission, this one’s a keeper. Try sitting inside, upstairs, where the tables are made of vintage milk barrels. Plus you can sit by the window while you sip one of the great Belgian brews on tap.
And it’s cheap for the location!

I have only ever hung out at the bar once (not sure why, it seemed really cool!) but I have eaten here about 4 times and it is wonderful. The service is excellent, even when its crowded and you bring a bunch of high maintenance Americans. Really nice people. The food is stellar, small menu with really excellent, creative options. They usually have an outstanding deer steak with cranberry compote which I highly recommend. Also, if you still have room for dessert the «chocolate trio» is amazing.
One really cool thing about this place is that you can watch the chefs work. There is a pass through and though you cannot see the chefs, you can see their hands as they plate and arrange the food, last time we went we were fascinated!
Also, its worth mentioning that the kitchen is open until after 9, which is rare for Amsterdam, and the café is not that pricey, the special of the day is usually only 10 euro!

Excellent local bar just off the busy Leidensplein square clubs and tourists haunts. We stopped in for a drink after a layover in Amsterdam and it happened to be right across from our hotel. We paid some euros for a couple of rounds of drinks and took in the awesome atmosphere from the retro Beatles posters to the awesome mosiac on the top floor.
The owner was even nice enough to sit with us for a beverage when things quieted down.
Definitely check it out.
