As I was craving sushi, Tomo satisfied that craving. The rolls were nothing spectacular, but they were tasty. I liked the atmosphere of the place, cosy and casual. The staff was friendly. I have not eaten at a lot of sushi places in Amsterdam, so I am not sure how to rank the prices. I’ll try some other places before heading back here again.

Poor value for money, and extremely expensive for that quality sushi. Definitely do not suggest this place. The tuna fish they served was very bad quality, with no taste. There are definitely better places in amsterdam for those prices.

A little on the pricer side, however sushi in Europe is expensive no matter which country you are in. For example, we ordered the tempura shrimp, avocado, large rolls and it was € 16(whew expensive) and an inside out tempura shrimp and avocado € 10.50(high). I ordered take out rather than dining in, however the dine in experience looked nice and intimate and probably good for a date night out. They were nice with the order and packed everything I needed to enjoy from my hotel. Service was rather good compared to other places although it has hard to get past those prices.

Meh … I’ve experienced better fits perfectly Went there tonight, craving sushis… well its not the worse sushi place in Amsterdam… but saying that I still havent experienced real good sushis here. Anyway … The place is clean, décor is nice(but our table a bit sticky) Staff is not particularly friendly, or unfriendly … service is not existent(you order, they bring … but hey thats the job right?) Edamame was nice(but how wrong can that be?) Sea weed salad was good but very tiny for 4 euros! and quite watery We then ordered some maki(salmon avocado), california rolls(spicy tuna) and tempura vegetables. Salmon maki was alright, the salmon didnt taste of much There was a mistake on the order, so we didnt get our spicy tuna maki at the beginning. But they arrived, … very average(not that spicy and unrefined pieces of tuna in a not very tight roll …) The tempura batter was not very crispy which made the whole thing taste like very hot veggies with pastry around. Still hungry, we then ordered 2 hand rolls(smoked eel and fried shrimp), well that was useless as both tasted of not much(plenty of rice!) Overall it was a very so so sushi experience(will probably have forgotten about it in a few days). And it was quite pricey for what it was I will not return and I will keep on looking for some good sushis in Amsterdam(sigh… desperate!)

The best sushi in Amsterdam, for sure. The best sushi I’ve ever had on «the continent.» Doesn’t quite beat out some of the yellowtail I’ve had in England. That being said, the place has a good atmosphere and is run by some older Asian men who were drinking Heineken while rolling some sushi. The hand rolls(Temaki) were especially good. My pal, Rob, got a beef curry that came with it’s own firey apparatus and smelled out-of-this-world. Be prepared to shell out a pretty penny to nurse your addiction – that’s the only reason Tomo gets 3 instead of 4 stars. Reservations recommended
