The place is nice but i was expecting more. I ordered pork ramen, and it is wayyyyyy different than the real ramen. The pork is not cooked the way a ramen should be. I am disappointed to be honest. But the chicken katsu curry is nice though. Definitely will go back to try something else. Just not the ramen.

I Usually love this place, but not today. We were greeted by a pushy manager who would be more suitable as an Indian street vendor. The place was empty, yet we waited so long that we just shared my dish. We see the second dish just sitting by the open kitchen while the waiter is totally ignoring it along with all the plates of food that still sits on tables. The soup finally came and the manager still wants us to order drinks. The soup was tasteless, and when I told the manager this she said ah ok. All in all an awesome experience. Get to work Wagamama!

So the name sounded pretty catchy, I was surprised to realize there’s none of these in the states!(Plus 1 for being in Europe!) It’s actually not Japanese, it’s British. I am a big fan of Asian fusion food, so we went to get some noodles. I had a hard time picking what I wanted on the menu; I was stuck between chili noodles, the seafood coconut broth, or teppanyaki. We each got a different fruit drink; a carrot juice and a clean green. We also ordered some mint tea. Upon ordering, we got a spicy chili squid to share. My boyfriend got the Chili Ramen, and I decided upon the Seafood Coconut Broth. I was albeit a little disappointed because it wasn’t mind blowing or anything. The broth tasted the same as a similar one I have had in New York, only with more seafood added. The squid was alright, I tried some of the Chili Ramen and it was delicious– maybe I should have ordered ramen instead. I had seen a sign for colorful mochis on the way in– that’s what drew me in. I love mochi, any format, shape or flavor. We got a mochi dessert which had vanilla coconut, strawberry, and black sesame. Scrumptious! This is definitely one of those because-I’m-on-Vacation spots.

«Asian fusion» is the perfect term for this place — a blend of different Asian cuisines served in a modern environment, in a modern presentation. The place has a rather big dining room with lots of seats, and large rectangular tables — so there’s room for many guests but it kinda lacks personality. It feels like a typical lunch restaurant to go to with a group of colleagues — not a place to bring a date to in the evening. The food is of good quality, although nothing mind blowing. I had ramen — and it was nice that they even had that on the menu because it is rather uncommon.

This place has it all: good food, fast service, cozy location and very very friendly and agile staff. Ow and I almost forgot, great value for money. The portions are very well served for a fair price. It is ideal for many occasions. Be it a group diner or one of those days that you need to run to another appointment and have limited time to eat in between. They provide a very fast service(yes I know I mentioned it already, but it is worthy mentioning again, because they really are fast). There is one thing that might annoy some people(not my case, hence the 5 stars), if you are in a group your orders might not arrive at the same time. They bring what is ready and if you don’t want your food to get cold you start eating before your friends do. Just keep that in mind and all should be fine :).

Do not eat here. I really shouldn’t even add anything else. It was not a quick meal and it was not friendly. Awful Awful Awful. The manager was rude and acted like he was above working there. Go anywhere but here.

Yesterday we found ourselves near Rembrandtplein in search of a NORMAL place to eat and stumbled upon Wagamama. Interior seemed modern, it smelled delicious from the open kitchen and the place was quite full for the hour. We easily found a table for six though, the waitress was friendly and took the order right away. All the dishes came at a different time, and though we were told it’s the style, it still disappointed me, especially when you are with a few friends(some people already finished their food whilst others were still waiting). I guess if you order small plates to share that won’t be a problem. The food itself was quite decent. Ebi Katsu(Deep-fried Shripms) were tasty, Duck Gyoza were nice(reminded me of Beijing Duck taste, though the dough was a bit dry), Terikyaki Chicken Donburi was good as well, but the Pork Ribs were the star of the evening. Really sticky, flavourful and fell off the bone. The Teppanyaki and Donburi dishes our friends had were all really big and delicious. Next time i’m coming for one of the Ramens. As the menu is quite big I would really recommend you order several dishes to share with your friends, to get more samples and the idea of different tastes presented in Wagamama. Keep in mind they also have a small but nice selection of Asian beers. Averall Wagamama is not something really distinguished, but is quite a decent place to eat with fitting price tag and big portions. I wouldn’t expect wonders, but it’s definitely better than majority of places near Rembrandtplein. READMOREONTHEBLOG

I went there last week as it is directly opposite of my hotel. The food was quick and good, but I thought that out waitress Tracy was just amazing. She had a great attitude, very helpful and friendly. I had a rice and chicken dish for about 14 € and a drink, so it came to about 20 € which for Amsterdam standards is not bad. Would definitely go here again next time.

Great Restaurant for asian food of any kind! Waiters are rather quick and friendly(helped with a group picture without request from us) and the food was of a good quality and arrived very quick, considering that we were a group of 11 people and arrived unannounced! Atmosphere is vibrant, but rather too noisy if you are looking for a nice place to go for 2 to talk… Prices are acceptable, but the portions will definitely satisfy ‘everyone’.

Went there this week for the first time while on a day trip to Amsterdam. The first waiter who served us(a black guy, don’t know his name) was being extremely helpful and friendly and did warn us that the two dishes we ordered may not arrive at the same time(even though why that was the case I don’t know, since we ate at about 2 pm and the place was by no means full there were maybe five other tables waiting to be served). The food was okay but nothing special. All of a sudden, our waiter was nowhere to be seen and when we ordered a second round of drinks from a female member of staff(her name tag said Sanne), she had an air of haughtiness and arrogance about her. Our drinks took forever to arrive and after we had finished our meals, I asked for the bill. She went about her other business, clearing tables, bantering with the chefs, sweeping the floor, apparently totally oblivious to anything around her. When she happened to come past our table again, she saw my purse lying on the table, said Ooh yes and took another five minutes over the bill. It came to something just shy of 50 Euros(which for two, even incl drinks, is a lot I think) and I would have ordinarily and in any other case left a tip. But she stared at the 50 Euro note and said, Yes?, and I asked for my change, which she grudingly handed over. I really think that she needs to work on her attitude and I won’t bother with that place again.

The ramen is such a bad try. As someone who favoured Ippudo, this kinad soup noodle should not be called Ramen for me. But it seems they are doing well for their salad and Teppan. Maybe, I will come back for that. Maybe.

It’s a restaurant chain, but it’s fine. A nice open-space where you can eat, elbow-to-elbow with your neighbours, a variety of tasty noodles(ramen and soba are both good) or other courses. Take care: when there is chili, there is some indeed! We were especially fond of one side-dish: tori kara age, which is «deep-fried chicken pieces prepared with soy sauce, sake, mirin, dried oregano, thyme and fresh ginger marinade.» The wine was also good — which we did not expect. They have a menu in English. Last, service was swift, smiling and caring.

Unfortunately not that good experience. If we are talking to eat cheap — that’s not a right place. A bill around 20 eur for a dish and a drink. But for average place wagamama doesn’t go. Food is almost always too dry and not diverse. There are better alternatives like Vapiano on this square.

Can’t believe I got a cold while in Amsterdam. Good thing we found Wagamama! Loads of noodle soup bowls were consumed. Soup is for what ails you and this worked like a charm! The availability of spicy alternatives helped too. Once I was better I was already hooked on the bowls and we came here at least 3 – 4 more times. We probably should have purchased stock. After Amsterdam we were off to London then Edinburgh. Locations in London were no where near as inviting or yummy so we decided to stop and just focus on the comfort of the Amsterdam locations.(The one near Amstelstraat was our main go to but we did hit another location). Service was OK and I’m not really into the communal table thing(especially when sick) so we did some to go orders and enjoyed our food in the park. Once better, I liked talking to people at our table & getting tips for cool(non-touristy) stuff to do in the city.

I had a good time at Wagamama. There was a bit of trouble getting seated in a timely manner. However, there was only one server today. The kitchen seemed to be slightly short on staff as well. The restaurant is spacious and has a pleasant atmosphere. My rice dish was very delicious and I was satisfied after the meal. I also tried some of the ramen. The noodles were subpar but the wontons were good. In general, try the rice dishes, as long as you don’t touch the ramen dishes, it should be fine With the I-Amsterdam card you can also get a 25% discount here. Just a tip for tourists.

Wagamama never disappoints me. This location is a lot less crowded than their other place near Leidseplein. Always enough seats here! They food is always great and fresh and has a good price. Also love their desserts. My all time favourite meal is the mandarin chicken salad.

Attempted to eat here. Yes, attempted. We thought it would be good to give this a place a try before catching a train back to London. It had a sign at the door that says: «please wait to be seated.» A few minutes go by and nobody comes. Went up one of the servers and asked to be seated. Okay, good. 10 minutes go by, nobody comes around. I looked over to the people sitting next to us, and they were waiting impatiently for their bill. That was when decided to just get up and leave. None of the servers seemed to notice. They have about 4 or 5 servers running around — doing who knows what. The place was not even at capacity. This was during the off lunch hours too. I’d hate to come here when they are«busy.»

Ok. Neither more or less. We had the revolving buffet with hot side dishes made to order, and this was the dissapointment. It took fooooooooooooor eeeeeeeeeeveeeeer for these to come out. If you go there, order 6 – 7 of the hot plates as it will take too long to get the next order, and you will fill up on sea weed :)

One of the worst bowls of ramen ever served to me. The soup was cold and the chicken was dry and chewy. The broth was not rich or very flavorful, just cold and salty. From the first bite, it was so unappetizing that I just gave up on it and paid my 7 euros I am only giving them 2 stars because apparently my friends soups were«warm enough»
