Duck Thai style salad and the Shanghai lomen noodles were good, just don’t expect authentic flavours. Once you get past that initial disappointment these dishes were tasty with fresh ingredients. The service is friendly. The space is bright and casual. A good place to get a reliable meal with a different flavour profile that you would find in the neighborhood.

This was the perfect stop with 3 teenagers after a long day in Amsterdam. Everyone easily found something they liked, we had a comfortable amount of space in which to relax, and the service was great. While I can’t vouch for the authenticity of everything we ate, I can say that our party is very familiar with home cooking from several Asian cultures. We all were very pleased with our dishes. I’m sure it will become a regular stop for us in Amsterdam.

Well knoodle my noodle, what do we have here! If you would throw in some bad service, grandma spitting, and what sounds to be like arguing, this place would actually remind me of places I would eat at when I lived in Shanghai! Clearly the creative juices weren’t flowing when this place was named, yet there is nothing misleading as this place has several…(drum roll please…) noodle dishes! Soups, cold noodles, warm noodles, Korean style… you name it, they pretty much have it. And true to most Chinese eateries, if there is something they don’t have, it’s covered by a white sticker so you KNOW not to order it! With a clear bias in the Vietnamese quadrant, I decided to go for one of my favorites outside of Phở and Bún Bò Hue; that being Won Ton Soup(Mì hoành thánh) — sadly it was just shy of ok. Perhaps I should have ordered the number 39 with rice?(Dutch joke). The bf got some thick noodles in some kind of Chinese sauce and also said it was aiiiight. Sounds like a two star review so far, eh?! Fortunately, I’m not ready to throw in my chopsticks on this place just yet! I like how you just order when you walk in, I like the selection of noodles(how many noodle places are there in Amsterdam), and there were a ton of other items I wanted to try and they might be good. So the next time I’m battling through the crowded shoe-shop infested streets of Kalverstraat needing a quick break, I’ll be trying this place again phở sho!

Walking around central Amsterdam, I came across this noodle and rice place. It looked clean and much more family friendly than other options in the area on a Saturday evening. Service was friendly and quick and explained the options well. For example, I ordered some chicken curry and they warned me that it was quite spicy. I switched to another option and also tagged on some dim sum. You basically order at the front and then sit down and they give you a buzzer to tell you when it is ready. Teriyaki chicken was amazing, noodle soup was great and dim sum was divine. The pictures on the menu board at the front do not give them enough credit. When these dishes come out, they are big servings and really well made. I highly recommend this place.

Hot veggie noodle soup and veggie egg rolls? On a cold(duh) Amsterdam night? On my way home from work? While hungry? Ravenous, in fact? Quick? Consistently good? Um, okay! That’s this place, in a veggie nutshell.(Don’t worry, lots of delicious(barf) meat options! Enjoy!

i’ve been looking for a place like this ever since i moved to Holland over a year ago! my prayers have been answered for a casual and yummy asian fusion joint. i could seriously eat here almost every day. although they don’t have any korean food(my personal fav. since i am korean) this place is a must for anyone craving any type of asian, particularly chinese. so far i’ve eatten the .oh dear. forgot the name but it’s the only beef dish that comes with either rice or noodle soup. both ways are good and the meat is very tender. it also comes with a spring roll. i’ve also had the deep fried taro(dim sum dish) which was perfectly crunchy and moist on the inside. i only wish they had a special secret sauce to go along with it. the chicken thai salad was also good. although not authentic, they used celery in it, the sauce and other ingredients make up for it. also… the staff is very friendly! my goal is to try everything at least once!!!

Recently I found this little Asian fusion restaurant Shanghai Noodle. I can’t remember this place being here one year ago. The interior looks rather new and I think they are still exploring with new dishes. However, I have been here a couple of times now, and everything I have had was really good! It is a great place to have a quick dish while shopping, as it is right behind the Kalverstraat. As the food is served really quickly, I wouldn’t go here for your first date. The WiFi is not working properly, but they have said they will have that fixed really soon. I would recommend this place if you are looking for something quick. It is also a nice place to meet up with some friends, as the food is good value for money. And, the teriyaki chicken — it’s really delicious!
