Don’t get fooled!!! So your scrounging around looking for the best bang for your buck. Yeah it’s only € 8.50, for all you can eat, plus € 1.50 for a drink which you must purchase, but this restaurant was the worst Chinese I have ever had in my life. Living in California I have eaten at all sorts of Chinese restaurants, and haven’t really tasted Chinese food that would want to make me throw up. I must admit I usually eat anything and am not a picky person. Well, this place sure got my award for the worst Chinese rest. ever. The shumai was shit, the noodles were dry and lacked any taste, and all the soupy type meats were making gag. The only thing I had to eat was the fried chicken and egg rolls, which were doable. This place was the worst experience ever and ruined my last day in Amsterdam. In addition my wife got food poisoining from this place and had mud butt, chills, and was throwing up all over the place on the plane ride home. EATATYOUROWNRISK!!!

Maybe it’s because of my distaste for Chinese American food(or would that be Chinese Amsterdam?), or perhaps it’s the Chinese buffet where 9 times out of 10 it’s mediocre. Having had good versions of both in the past, it’s pretty safe to say it was really just the food overall that was the main culprit here at Dim Sum Court. It is true, for under € 10 one can partake in an «all you can eat» affair with your typical dishes that have been sitting around for too long, many of which are just fried buns, dry noodles, and some variant of General Tso’s chicken. It was very limited for a buffet selection, which is less of an excuse for food that should and would be switched out often, which it wasn’t. The egg rolls were hard as rocks and the fried rice left much to be desired. After a merry-go-around of picking and poking around the buffet, I threw up the white flag. When inquiring for their menu for some possible a la carte dishes, the woman behind the counter was quick to point out the«freshest, most available» food was sitting in the trays of the buffet. Did I sense a bit of laziness on their part to consider cooking up some beef chow fun or maybe some yeung chow fried rice? Maybe just a little bit. That said, no one should come in here expecting an epic feast. As with all Chinese places like this, it’s an «eat and get out» situation. This part of Amsterdam is filled with a good bit of tourists, so this may work as a quick, cheap meal fix for someone on the go. If this happens to be the case, a little reminder always comes in handy while on the road: you’re traveling, try something local and interesting, never settle.

How strange, the name is the same, the price is the same, but the place doesn’t look at all like what I remember! At least according to the picture that is up there. Maybe it has moved since I went. My friend and I were in Amsterdam looking for dinner and came across this«buffet»(eat as much as you can in one hour). We decided to take up the challenge and go eat til we could no more. It’s a small little place, but then again so is everything in Amsterdam. They have their buffet bar in the back area and there’s a pretty good-sized selection of dishes, from fried to steamed. The food is as you would expect at a buffet, nothing fantastic, but it is a good deal for a hungry wanderer!
