Leider hatte das Restaurant, das wir uns hier auf Unilocal, ausgesucht hatten, geschlossen. Auch an der Tür hing keine Information. Sehr ärgerlich.

Just tapas for people who don’t have any idea what is good food. Patatas Bravas(aardappels in pittig saus) with a sauce that is not brava and few quantity of potatoes for the money(please, they are just potatoes… 6.50 €???, please!!!). Flamenquín(Varkensfilet met seranoham), I ordered that because the waitress told me that it was a specialty, I asked also about the size(in Spain you can find Flamenquines bigger than your plate) and she answered me that it was very big(11.50 €), the flamenquín was really small, salty, with a lack of meat(it was just serrano ham), fried twice and dry (a technique that use bad restaurants in Spain: they fry the food when they prepare the kitchen early in the afternoon, and when a client order a dish they fry the food again to heat it to finish cooking and to be quicker, people that don’t know it are going to think that the dish is freshly made, you can usually find that in tourist tapas bar and not for locals). To finish, the waitress offered to us the product of the day(out of menu): razor clams, also very expensive, and I was able to see that they weren’t fresh, they were unfrozen, you can realize that because the product is dry, and also they where full of sand, it’s not easy to clean frozen razor clams… . I’m spanish and maybe I have to avoid spanish restaurants, but I have tried other tapas bar in Amsterdan, although not being the same as in Spain, it surpassed in quality, quantity and price this bar Two stars because I can find Spanish wine: D

One of my favorite tapas place in Amsterdam. Everything here was so delicious and this place is great for groups, or if you just want to go on a nice date by the Amstel. ;) Came here with my family and when we opened our menus there was a huge selection of tapas. The waitress was super nice and suggested some of her faves to us and they were amazing. We had Jamon, octopus, calamari, asparagus(cooked very simply, but they were so good!), garlic shrimp, fish, and paella. And at the end of the night, they hooked us up with apple shots(enough to make my mom tipsy after all that delicious sangria ;))!

If you had asked me about how much I like tapas a year ago I would have said: Meh ! And then I got to this place. Hands down best Spanish tapas place I’ve been to. My favourites: — Patatas bravas — Calamares a la Romana — Berenjenas rellena But do explore the menu, they have a lot of stuff worth drooling for.

It’s a treat! Yeap you read right! Two meals over the last two nights and we(mum, aunt and I) were not disappointed. Ok the water didn’t arrive but the Rioja wine was nice so kept us hydrated to a point(he he)! To start off both meals we had the mixed cold meats with Spanish cheese and warm bread. The warm bread came with Salsa and aioli. We then ordered prawns — very moist and so delicious in a garlicky sauce, patatas bravos, a special: cod in pesto(so moist and delicious!!), aubergine with mince and béchamel sauce, Spanish potato salad, calamari, Spanish meatballs — all courses over two nights! All were delicious and plates were cleaned! At the end of our meal we were offered with homemade liquor — which was apple shots, I think but was lovely in all. But meals the food came quickly. It was very tasty and great value. You can pick dishes and share them, which seems to be the best way as you can get a little of everything(of what you order) between you and others and be full and happy at the end of your meal! I would totally recommend it to anyone staying in this area or who would like to go out of Amsterdam main area and see other neighbourhoods.

We had a company dinner here. It was a bit hard to find, but that had more to do with the terrible weather that day than with the restaurant itself. Serously, I needed wipers for my glasses that evening. The restaurant itself is very nice, the whole athmosphere inside the tapas bar is like you are visiting Barcelona. We had the backroom, which looks like you’re eating surrounded by wine barrels and there is a balcony. On the down side our group was quite large, so we did not have a lot of room to move around during dinner. Some people had a plant right behind the chair, so I’m deducting a point for that. The food on the other hand is great. Very nice tapas indeed. I liked the way they split the sauces on the Batatas Bravas. I’m used to it being mixed, but this was a fresh look on how to present this dish and it shows the high quality of the food. The thin slices of roasted Zucchini with honey are very tasty. The tender sweet chicken was also very enjoyable. I also liked the shrimps and the Spanish meatballs. The Spanish tapas have some more spicy dishes among them and they were well seasoned indeed. Tapas de Arroyo is easy to reach as by public transport as well as it is only a two minute walk from the«Wibautstraat» subway station.

Tapas de Arroyo is a very cute café-restaurant along the Amstel river, where the food served is … guess what, yes, tapas! The interior is very nice, warm and cute, with wooden floors, tables and chairs, barrels used as tables, smoked ham hanging from the ceilings, … this place has some real character! there are two long tables outside which can seat about 8 – 10 people. the interior itself is not very big either. Good selection of spanish wines, both whites and reds… it’s such a relief to find place with good wines in Amsterdam! But the most important thing is of course the food: again, great selection of tapas. I must say the portions are quite big, for me two plates are more than enough… — which makes it VERY affordable to have dinner here. I can totally recommend the mixed meat platter: delicious! in particular the ham and the smocked lomo were yummy… the cheese however was so-so. I also want to underline that the service was *extremely* nice and attentive: very good recommendations all along, not too intrusive but present enough, and super super friendly and kind. made our evening even more pleasant. Tapas de Arroyo, I will definitely be back to try some more of your tapas…

I am Spanish and I have to say that the quality of of the food in this restaurant is great! I recommend the ‘calamares romana’ I can even think I am eating them in the south of Spain! Not very cheap but good quality, I definitely recommend it

This place is super cute! This small restaurant may not fit a lot of people in there, but it’s all about quality, right?! As you walk in, you will immediately feel as if you stepped into Spain for the night at this authentic gem! Against one wall, you can even see the meats curing and being sliced fresh! The owner is adorable, speaking his Spanish throughout the restaurant, and constantly checking on us to ensure we were fed. I was a fan of : –The thinly sliced eggplant with a light drizzle of honey –Dates stuffed with almonds and wrapped in bacon –Garlic shrimps Come here, check it out, and get ready to have a great night! :)
