Unilocaler Sam has been organising the Burger Tour for a while but this is my first time to join, and this time the venue was The Rottiserie. I completely missed the entrance, so i walked in on the adjacent bar Fier asking for my fellow Unilocalers, only to find out they were good and ready at the venue next door. Good thing is you don’t have to go outside, there’s a small corridor in the back of the bar that leads to the Rottiserie. It’s the Dark Side, which gives it a cosy feel to it. But once the place gets filled up it just feels hot and overcrowded. I ordered the weekly special which sounded great but was quite disappointing. It was a burger with calamares and some vig salsa. The bun was soggy, so no way i could hold it properly, the fried calamares on top of the burger was hardly an added value. And the salsa was melting together with the bun. Luckily the burger was of great taste. No complaints on the sides though. The fries were properly executed having the right crunch. The coleslaw was a refreshing but tiny side dish. Same as for the mac & cheese. Service wise it almost seemed that Fier has employed friendly staff(i’ve spoken 2 of ‘em) while De Rottiserie employed the quick & dirty ones: high on energy, low on hospitality. Would I go again? If not for the burger, i’d go for their G&Ts! Instead of the usual Hendricks i had a Monkey 47, and found myself not disappointed. But«not disappointed» was not what i was going for this night. I wanted to be overwhelmed, because it seems that this joint is packed every time i pass it. I guess it is one of those hipster places and maybe i am just too old for that shizzle
