Jamaicanmecrazy, ja man!
Passing by this shop I was like WTF, a Jamaican takeaway. How come I don’t know about this place?! Turns out, they only recently opened. Hell yes, A’dam was in desperate need of Jamaican takeaway!!!
Sure, you’ve got Planet Rose. But sometimes you want to eat ya curry goat in tha privacy of ya own home, ya hear!
Not sure if I’m such a big fan of the crowd hanging in front of the shop though. Reminded me of high school, but I’m a big girl now and nothing was gonna keep me from trying out Jamaica’s national dish ackee & saltfish! They normally serve it with some rice (but I asked for the fried dumplings instead), fried plantains and a few slices of tomato and cucumber. Yeah, Jamaicans don’t really seem te eat lot a veggs with their protein. So, if you want your veggs, you need to order a seperate portion of callaloo or okra.
Hard food = Jamaican for yam. It’s hard, it’s food, of course… hard food.
Today for specials, they also had fish tea. For just € 3,50, I got a big cup of Jamaica in a bowl!!! Oh my lordy lord, that was some seriously good fish soup!
Try the sorrel ginger drink. Fiery and not too sweet!
They saran wrap the shit out of your takeaway so none that goodness gets spilled.
Rose move over, there’re new boyz in town and I hope they’re here to stay!
