The bar was nice. The food however… The maki rice was too sweet, the scallops; I would’ve complained if it had been back home — tasted like chewy fish-cake. And we had the pad Thai noodles: I could have made pasta with ketchup instead. The service was good though.

Proximity to hotel and jet-lag were the primary reasons for dining here. The menu explains sashimi and sushi which made me question how legit this place is… Hip space, loud music and dim lighting. Out of 7 dishes, 3 dishes stood out: yellowtail sashimi, beef teriyaki, and the rice pudding. Other than that, not impressed. Three helpful rotating staffs and hostess was very nice.

Excellent meal but giving 4 stars because it’s not Amsterdam — you could be eating in New York for all you know. Tip: get the spare ribs AMAZING!!! Almost ordered second. Also order the edamame for appetizer very salty and delicious.

I had my eye on this place for a while and meet a friend of a friend here for dinner. It was lovely! The ambience is pretty slick so this is a great place for a first date or a business meal/semi-formal meeting if you are out to impress a little. This place has good music and atmosphere and a professional, friendly wait team. We did not make a reservation but it was a mid-week meal so it was nice sat at the bar for 30 mins while we waited for our table. To be honest, make sure you book, I think I got lucky. Momo is set in a lovely building and I didn’t realise it was part of a hotel before. She was drinking Hendricks and fever tree tonic and I tried a few of their awesome sounding Martinis which did not disappoint. Food was fusion Asian and very nice! I would go again and do the tasting menu with my husband(perfect date night)*. I had the(Elderflower) Vondelpark Martini which was divine and the Lychee Martini — I would recommend both. We were there a long time so we also ended up getting a bottle of Rioja crianza which was about € 48, creamy and full-bodied. It might just be me but I found the Edamame at € 4.90 seemed a little pricey for a not huge portion. The Sashimi set came in a huge, iced bowl and the presentation of fish was comme Nobu or MASU in Auckland, NZ. This was 3 pieces of 5 different types of fish. The wasabi I don’t remember having before, it was mild and wet and reminded me of fresh seaweed but was nice and well balanced. The Momo rolls and soya shrimp rolls were lovely and you get 3 of each. All other sushi came in 6 pieces and we had the snow crab nigiri. Everything was delicious but not exquisite. My(by now) friend is a huge sushi and sashimi fan; if a bit of a purist, and she liked it but said she’d had better in Amsterdam and she’s only just moved here at the beginning of July. I’ve also had better but overall it was a great place and I really liked it. For these reasons, I’d give it 4.5 not 5 stars only really because of value for price. I’ll be back for date night! My tips: *They also do a tasting menu for € 79 per head which I’ll go back to try.
Make a reservation or hope you can be squeezed in and have some drinks at the bar Fever tree tonics with Hendricks gin: the tonic was € 4.50 each € 10 for the gin — If you don’t use all the tonic, keep it and order another gin by itself.

Delicious food here. Was here last night as I ordered 3 sushi rolls {great flavor, very tasty} as they came out nice and quick. However, my appetizer, the chicken skewers and shrimp tempura {additionally both delicious}, came out after my sushi {entrée}. Still, a delicious meal that I would definitely come back and enjoy during my vacation.

I found the Asian food amazing and the environment was pleasant as well. The service was exceptional compared to any other restaurant I went to in the area. I highly recommend this place.

Excellent service together with the best cuisine you’ll find in the modern western world. I visited here three days in a row on vacation and only received a more and more welcome atmosphere with warmer greetings every single time. Get this, the same bartender and waiter stuck with us through out every serving ever since out original visit, how insanely great isn’t that? Everything will probably taste like crap after eating here. Btw. King Crab for € 14, need I say more? I’m from the country of King Crab and they don’t even serve it here because of the high prices and the skills required to cook it properly and here it’s awesomely prepared with unexceptional value.

Let’s start with the positive. My lunch partner was nothing less than amazing. Oh, and the food was very nice. The foie grass role is to die for. Although the flavor and texture are good, a smaller size may be a more pleasant experience. Then the not-so-positives. These are all about the staff. I have not yet come across a very willing but disorganized front of house staff. One server brought us water, another server asked if we wanted water, a third server got the wine and the fourth server decided to take the order and remember. Based on the experience thus far my faith had been tempered a bit and unfortunately the level of service proved to be consistent: a dish was forgotten. Then server 2 decided to take a plate of the table that we weren’t finished with. Again, the food was absolutely lovely but the staff really brought down the experience. Work to be done here.

It looks designy, hip, but the people visiting this place aren’t. A lot of long faces with too much too expensive makeup on them. Uninspired but expensive outfits. There’s security at the door which is strange for an Amsterdam restaurant. Something to do with the gangster clientele that is said to also frequently visit this Venue? Perhaps. The food is Asian fusion –which I love– but the quality was disappointing. The young lovely looking girls serving you don’t know anything about what it takes to be a good host. They don’t know anything about what they serve either. They will serve you the cold variety of saké in those cups for the hot ones. And when you explain about this, they feel attacked instead of informed. The cocktails are great and the bartenders are friendly. That’s why they get 2 stars instead of 1.

Good drinks, food, ehhh, some are good, some aren’t. Truffle oil does not make a dish fancy, they put it in 4 of the 6 dishes we were served.

This place is what it is. It’s a spot to be seen and to pay inflated prices for food served to you by really good looking people. While normally this isn’t really my scene, Momo turned out to be alright, and not nearly as pretentious as I initially thought it would be. Being the Netherlands, even the beautiful people who work here and the clientele were all really nice, friendly and down to earth. I would describe the food as mod-pan Asian. What we did have was good and made for a nice break from the heavier local food we had been chowing down on.

No. Just«no». Two artists, 50+ walked in, Sharon, dressed fully in stylish black, with matching black guide dog Avatar & her husband just got denied access. No dogs allowed. We went to the Seafoodbar. Much, much better.

Worth stopping in for a «pricey» cocktail if you have time. Very modern, cool environment but the menu just did not attract us. Be ready to pay 14 euros for a martini.

I’ll quite often but usually for a drink. To eat I have to say two things: the first is is really really good Asian food. Secondly it is quite expensive! for a drink I think this place is a little too judged on the look and appearance but good for a drink with his girlfriend is still a nice place.

Beware: Expensive for hardly any food! Overall: Cool place with expensive Chinese types of food. This was a swanky restaurant and lounge which had many people in their mid twenties to mid thirties. It was a cool environment, if I was of this age and had a lot of money to spend on food this would be the perfect place. Do not go unless you are willing to spend around € 30 to still be hungry after finishing your«meal». I ate here with a group of 12 and was able to make a reservation with no problem for a Friday night. A nice lady on the train had recommended it to us, so we thought we would try it out. The menu is filled with different types of Asian foods and you split your plates with 34 people. Honestly, the portions are so small, three portions could feed one person. For 6 pieces of sushi its around € 20. The food is good, but you must be willing to drop some serious cash. The service was good I would recommend the pad thai side, though it is spicy and they do not mention this on the menu.

Arrived here fairly late in the evening/early in the morning last weekend to find a relaxed, trendy crowd of mostly men. ?? Not sure why so many men were there at 1 am-ish, it’s very possible that I missed a huge clue, but it really didn’t seem to affect the vibe one way or the other.(was the weekend of the Uitmarkt kickoff) The seats are cozy, the space is modern, the staff and people there were nice. All fine, and the location is super great. I’m sure I would stop in again if I’m ever in the neighborhood and need a trendy drink-spot. In fact, it deserves a second, not quite so tipsy, look. ;)

Being from Toronto, we have a lot of fusion food… Momo would fit right in with the Toronto or New York fusion scene. While there were interesting and delicious dishes all around the Sea Bass was the definite standout. It was perfectly cooked, tender, moist and yummy. A bit pricey — but a nice experience. The atmosphere is electric and the bar is crowded — it’s a great date spot or a place to go if you want an upscale meal.

Umm… one thing I didn’t expect to find myself in was a sushi/Asian restaurant in Amsterdam. However, here it was. I agree with others that the interior is a bit fancier than what I experienced in other places — and yes, the prices matched that as well. Now, the best part that I’ll remember about this place? That I got to meet Amsterdam’s awesome CM, Flippie. She then took me on a few stops and recommended many more than I could hit in the short amount of time I had left. We ended up not staying for bites since, after getting drinks at the bar, we sat down in an unoccupied and non-reserved small table and ordered food. However, a few minutes later, we had a hostess come over and start to scold us about how the table was reserved(yet there was no sign to indicate such as they usually do). We then canceled the order, paid for the booze, and then headed on to a more fun spot where we wouldn’t have to shout to hear each other.

I arrived at Momo while wandering the streets of the area looking for something that wasn’t a tourist trap. Momo is where business types take colleagues, sexy dates begin, and regulars enjoy a good wine and cocktail list, and Asian fusion. I had chicken satay and a shrimp tempura roll. Oddly enough, I’ve had a lot of sushi in my day, and the shrimp tempura roll was one of the best I had ever had. Tasty avocado was wrapped around it, mm! The vibe is hip and very active. The server was very overwhelmed, and thanked me for my patience, and was super sweet and friendly after I told her«not to rush with me,»(aka don’t stress with me!). I had two great glasses of French pinot noir, and enjoyed people watching. Overall, a nice experience and something different than the standard«euro» fare of Amsterdam.
