Nice selection of goods, but they only take card, no cash?!? Very strange and inconvenient, especially if you are only visiting for a few days.

My husband and I came here to grab a few items so we could do a little meal at our rented Airbnb around the corner. To be honest we thought it was another regular grocer, we didn’t realize it was an organic artisan grocery store. When you walk in go through right side. There are ramps and different aisles for u or cart, stupid. They had a lot of quality fresh meets, fish, bread, and cheese. But be careful, watch for flies, they are huge and sit on the food without moving, even on the bread and it’s so gross. The staff was nice and they allowed me to taste a bread. The girl opened a new package and gave me a piece but it was weird because she wasn’t wearing any gloves. She ripped it with her fingers. How do I know if her hands are clean? I don’t! So nasty. PROS: — fresh, good quality food — friendly staff — good selection of cheese, bread, and beer — good selection of dry food too and dairy and drinks CONS: — flies — staff don’t use gloves, they are touch food with bare hands — staff member in bread area ripped a pice of bread for me with her fingers and she was grabbing all over it because it was tough to rip. GROSS! That’s why it got 2 stars. No health safety regulations going on here — super expensive, like 3x more expensive than regular grocery store or Lidl.

Very nice market with lots of prepared food options. Like a mini version of Whole Foods. They don’t take cash(first time I’ve seen that!), so bring your credit or debit card.

Nice fruit and veggies, an awesome bakery and mostly anything else the Amsterdam tourist might need for hotel living. FYI Bring your own bags and payment is by credit card only.

The Amsterdam Whole Food supermarket. This shop has a narrow entrance and then a quite ample shop with all you can need products. From fair trade chocolate to bio products. Fresh fish counter and meats counter. Very nice and fancy. Choice of whines and some spirits. Not cheap. Everything is over the average price but I think it is worth it. Fast check out.

Marqt is with their biological and delicious products always a great choice for getting your groceries, but as we all know; it is not the cheapest. That’s why I do not come here to often, but just buy particular items here instead of everything(maybe later, when I have a better job haha). I like to come here for bread, wine, cereal, cheese and special drinks like Club-Mate of Bionade. Marqt is for sure one of my favorite food stores in Amsterdam. I like the location at Rembrandtplein better than this one though. I think that one is much bigger? Not sure though, maybe it just feels bigger.

This Marqt location is not my favorite. They layout is just awkward. The vegetable/produce section always seems to be under lit. If you’re going to charge me that much more for produce I want to be able to inspect it and make sure I’m getting my moneys worth! And they always seem to be out of the stuff that I’m looking for.

Marqt is like the US Whole Foods meets Dean & Deluca. Here you’ll find all the organic gourmet foods you can’t find at Albert Heijn like coconut water, fancy olive oils, vinegars, spices, fresh squeezed orange juice, Bbrood breads, browerij ‘tij beer, fancy cheeses, well kept fish, etc. It’s a good place to buy your household cleaners bc they only have environmentally-friendly brands. A bit pricey, but remember you are what you eat! Pin card + credit card ONLY.

a vast hall filled with food — organic farm produce, meat from happy animals, fresh baked dutch breads & pastries, cheese! all locally grown and made, not mass and anonymous. last time after a round of tastings, friends and i loaded up on gouda(lots), koolsla, fresh ham, just-pressed apple juice, milled bread and some craft beer to eat by a canal. cheesy tourists yeah but good and cheap-ish.

Sehr cooler Bioladen.

A very welcome recent addition to the Amsterdam supermarket scene. High quality organic fruit, vegetable and meats as well as a great bakery and take-home meals. While it is expensive Marqt offers consistently high quality. Cash is not accepted, payment must be made by pin or credit card.
