At a nice location opp. Weatermarkt, this restaurant used to be good. Bur now the food is pathetic — they dont ecen seem to know that to make tikka masala they need to make the chicken tikka separately and then add it into the sauce. Worst tikka masala ever. And the place is not even cheap To top it all theres a clown there with a Simpson’s haircut who claims he prefers Dutch customers — of course, your Indian brothers would instantly know what crap you are serving.

I have been going to this restaurant for already 6 years! I never had a bad experience, never! I love the butter chicken and the Bombay aloo(vindaloo hot), for dessert I love the rice putting or the mango ice cream!!. For drinks I go for the cobra beer or the Mando lassi!!! All delicious!!!

This is my second time coming to this location when visiting in Amsterdam. The owner is very friendly and charismatic. The chairs are comfortable. The staff was nice. We only ordered the butter chicken and we were not impressed. We asked for it to have medium spice, and it didn’t have any. We found a much better place that was closer to our hotel. I suggest you try out ‘Indian Restaurant Ghandi CV’ and try their butter chicken if that’s what you’re in the mood for. We won’t be coming back to Koh-I-Noor now that we found the gem listed above.

My father in law used to have his own critically acclaimed Indian restaurant back in New York until he retired and started a thankless job providing Indian food for my husband and I when we were too lazy to cook. So needless to say… we know Indian food VERY well! We’ve been craving that taste of home since moving to Amsterdam and Koh-I-Noor fills that hole for us right now. The food is all tasty, fragrant and actually as spicy as you need it to be — there is nothing more satisfying than the chicken tikka masala(served with rice pilaf) and garlic naan that you’ll read the raves about here, but also give the saag paneer a shot too. Perfect meal and you’ll likely be left with some to take home with you too. There’s a good reason this place is always packed — the food is excellent and authentic and the staff are so inviting. Definitely a repeat visit(when we don’t already have plans for a visit back home)!

I’m slowly starting to become more of a Indian food fan. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather then 5 is because I asked for my dish extra hot/spicy and it really wasn’t. Other then that, the staff is super friendly, food is amazing, and I would highly recommend this place!

Pretty good place for Indian. If you want something really spicy(not Dutch spicy) get the lamb vindaloo wow amazingly hot. They warned us 3 or 4 times that it was too hot for white people(without saying that specifically) but the group I was with were spicy food lovers so we really liked it. The service was good and fast and we were very happy with our meal.

This was a great little Indian place. We ordered the chicken biryani and a side of naan bread and it was delicious! We snacked on some khakra(chickpea cracker with spices) before our meal which was served with a sweet sauce and a cool, cucumber-like yogurt sauce for dipping. The service was great and we were happy to be fed after a long day of sightseeing!

Very nice place! I was with my boyfriend to celebrate our three months in this restaurant. It was a little expensive but sooo delicious… I ordered the«butter chicken»(see the picture). They brought us various hot sauces for the entry it was as good as the main course. Plus the restaurant was handsome, very typical and it were lovely staff. I highly recommend this restaurant for lovers of Indian food!

Volle 5-Sterne wert.
