Kaldi Amsterdam

One of the better places to get coffee in Amsterdam. Good quality beans, nice staff, and a good place to sit outdoors when the weather is good. I came back a couple times, and would recommend this place for coffee.

Strong and delicious coffee made by friendly and pleasant baristas. It’s our first choice coffee shop in Amsterdam. We buy our beans here as well. My only complaint is that they are closed on Sundays

Someone said «Dutch coffee» on this page, but the Dutch are not known for coffee. Processed cocoa yes, but not coffee. In fact there was a time, when coffee just about everywhere here was Nescafé.
A lot of places in Amsterdam still make coffee light and weak like Nescafé, including the «5 star» hotel where we are staying. But not at Kaldi, which is why this place gets 5 stars. Plus, the staff was kind and helpful, going the extra mile to answer questions.
After trying a dozen coffees, this place serves the best. You can get a light Brazilian or dark Siciliano. First time here, I had a Siciliano cappuccino. Next time a Siciliano Americano. Both excellent. (Don’t do light roasts.)
Also, coffee supplies galore from beans to full immersion cones and high-​end espresso makers. And gifts.
All this, three tables and a counter with stools in back with free wifi makes this place 5 stars.

Dieses kleine Lädchen mit einer Mirage-​Siebträgermaschine liefert 1a Qualität ab. Vorwiegend dient dieser Laden als Anlaufstelle für Coffee to go Liebhaber und Menschen die Rund um das Thema Café und Tee alles an Accessoires suchen. Im Innenteil sind an wenigen Hochtischen im hinteren Bereich des Ladens einige Plätze und draussen vor der Türe leider nur 4 !! zu finden.
Der Service ist typisch für Holland, locker & freundlich. Sogar einen Saufnapf gab es für den Hund.
Fazit: Sehr klein aber fein — Tagescafé!!

Before arriving in Amsterdam, my party and I arranged to meet the Amsterdam Unilocal CM Flip at this place to get a taste of some good Dutch coffee. Well, her recommendation was spot on. The coffee was well-​made and expertly roasted. I’m usually one to put a fair amount of sweetener in my coffee dranks but it was nearly superfluous here. My latte had a nice froth and was not at all bitter. Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to what one pays for something comparable in Portland. The storefront looks out over one of the inner canals and has a couple of benches for al fresco koffie drinken. Kaldi gets a high AG recommendation. Wait, I mean I recommend it highly.
