This resturant was absolutely perfect for our evening. We were looking for good food, good wine and a great atmosphere. Serving staff were helpful, attentive and polite. The food was made​with good ingredients and perfectly made​. The flavors were well put together and well balanced. What we liked best about the restaurant was the informal atmosphere while food, wine and service was impeccable. Next time we are in Amsterdam we come defintiv to visit the restaurant again!

Excellent food! However, we did find the menu options to be a bit confusing. Our first waitress was of little help, but then we were handed off to another fellow who was more helpful. Nonetheless, the food was excellent. We just wish we could have gathered together a party of at least 8, so that we could have pre-​ordered their suckling pig dinner!

Second time I’ve been to this place. Loved it the first time, so I was pretty stoked to go here again.
It was very crowded, but we had a reservation, so no problems. The staff took really good care of us the entire time.
I ordered the duck. Which was very good. The sausage was a bit salty and the leg had a very crispy skin and a little sweeter taste. So the meat was nicely balanced.
The only problem was the jus that came with it. The vegetables were almost soaked with this very fat sauce. I think my plate had been sitting waiting on service a minute too long, because it had already started to develop a little skin. It tasted quite ok, but because of all the fat I felt I went head first into a bucket of melted butter.
I was told the steak was VERY nice.
The white chocolate cheesecake I had for desert could have used a little more crunch. Still: amazing.
This is a very nice place where you get premium food for just a few euros extra. It’s not the cheapest place in De Baarsjes, but certainly one of the best. Money well spend.

The absolute highlight of our dining in Amsterdam. Authentic, simple, delicious. A gorgeous bright location, slight distance to get to but worth it because there was not a single tourist in the place (well ok, there was one tourist. Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle strikes again) but I am gone now so if you go today, there will be no other tourists there. Again just simple and fresh but absolutely the best food I ate.

It looks all quite pretentious but does not live up to expectations. The food is expensive for what you get. Service is good though and the restaurant itself looks nice.

Mainly meat menu but you can get great oysters and very good fish also.
I went for the pork belly (Beast menu) and I was VERY happy! Well cooked meat with the tender pork fat surrounding it and a nice crisp pork skin… served with great veggies and a great ham souce… MMM!
Ohh. my starter were oysters… fresh and served as they need to. lemon and Tabasco… the best way!
Ample choice of vines… with great matching to the food you eat.
The white chocolate cheese cake with raspberry sauce closed the excellent dinner. Everyone at my table was VERY happy.
The ambiance is good, ample place with a lot of tables. can be noisy but you can keep having your dinner with no problems. Service is a bit slow but over all good.
Pity they do not accept AMEX but other cards are fine.

This is more of a TIP than a review.
I was looking forward to go here for lunch to try it out as I had never been there but seen it while passing by and it looked nice.
So I am to meet a friend for lunch and I arrive a bit early. Had a look on the menu and it turns out that for ‘lunch’ they only have two sandwich options and the rest is the general menu for the restaurant.
Neither of the sandwich options at the time of my visit were to my taste and I wasn’t in the mood for a full meal or a soup. Nor was my friend as it turned out.
I could have avoided this by having checked their menu on-​line!
The décor of the place is really nice and so is the location, on a corner of a housing block with nice view of what’s happening outside.
So only two stars because it didn’t meet my expectation. I haven’t tasted the food so the stars are in no way a reflection on the food quality!
