Nice and friendly service. Great coffee! Sweets were just OK. Wifi was downright unusable. Just warning you in case you want to work there like a lot of other people did today.

Living near Utrechtsestraat, I stopped at De Koffie Salon whenever Two for Joy had too long of a line. Amazing soy lattes here! And the staff is adorable and extra sweet. You can grab a light lunch and relax with friends. It’s definitely more of a ‘meet with friends’ type of place than a place to bring your laptop — laptops are only allowed upstairs. The main tables upstairs and downstairs are spacious and accommodating, though. The small shop is usually filled with ultra-hip moms and what I like to call Dutch yuppies(like American yuppies but with more overlap of the dirty hipster category). Perfect location and delicious coffee. Here, you can also get a few squirts of flavor added to your drink, which isn’t a guarantee at other Amsterdam coffee houses. But I definitely recommend skipping your ‘koffie verkeerd’(‘fake coffee’ aka a latte) and try a delightful espresso and add a honey waffle for your sugar rush — get it warmed! Definitely recommend a visit whether you’ll sit and sip or grab a coffee on the go.

Best coffee in Amsterdam. The place is cool, hip and friendly. There’s ample seating and large communal areas for working from. There isn’t really wifi though but it’s a great place to hang out.

I would put this café on my list for a lovely place to relax and enjoy a hot cup of tea or coffee with a friend. I would suggest trying one of their smoothies, if the sun happens to be out and you think it’s just too warm for tea or coffee. Plus Utrechtstraat is one of my favorite streets to stroll, eat and shop.

Bad service, coffee is expensive and when you ask for a glass to fill up water, they just gave a tiny glass, for a bigger one we must purchase a bottle of water in exchange.

When I visited in July of 2013, I had a chance to try their coffee and espresso and they were both some of the best drinks I have ever had. EVER! Both were smooth and sweet(in coffee terms) and neither required any sugar. The Saloon also offers some amazing pastries; I was partial to the honey waffle and chocolate croissant. The service and setting were also ideal. At the counter, you found great attentive service where everyone was willing to answer my koffie kuestions(questions). The atmosphere was typical of cafes in Amsterdam where there was an understated sophistication to everything. Additionally, there were plenty of places to sit whether you were at one of the grand communal tables or one of the smaller bistro tables. This is must for Amsterdam coffee drinkers.

The best cappuccino I’ve ever had. Limited selection of food but nice for a morning coffee or afternoon coffee and snack. A must visit in Amsterdam!

Nice location, beautiful interior and building. Coffee and tea are good. Haven’t tried the pastries yet. Place can get a bit crowded but do come for nice drinks and the atmosphere. Prices are ok(not cheap but I don’t think I know a place in the city centre that does sell good cheap coffee).

Very good coffee and a cozy atmosphere. Just up the Utrechtsestraat from Frederiskplein or down from Rembrantsplein, however you want to look at it. The coffee is quite good for sure, but my favorite part(and listen up other coffee shops) is the self serve SUPERCOLD water. It’s so nice to down a few glasses of cold water while waiting for my coffee to be made. The fresh croissant with butter and jam is a nice simple treat too.

Great place to pop in with friends for a round of coffee. Cappuccinos are deeeelicious! Worth the price. Wish there were more places to sit as it’s often crowded on the weekend or evenings.

Upstairs is a wide conference table where lots of people are enjoying their coffee while chatting and working on their laptops. But the atmosphere is quite cool and the coffee is really very good — especially the double espresso cortado. The cakes are sumptous as are the sandwiches. A very nice place to hang out and make friends.

If this place was a person, it’d be the love of my life. And I’m serious. Their(price winning!) coffee is just absolutely the very very very best! I love good coffee and in the Koffie Salon it’s perfection. The place is beautiful — walls covered with photographs of, for example, Sofia Loren sipping her coffee, nice couches, a huge table. The atmosphere is relaxed even when it’s busy. You will find a lot of people reading a paper as if they are enjoying a lazy sunday at home. I love to come here and write. So, you get to drink the coffee of your dreams and you get to drink it in this amazing place. I’m in love and hope you will be too! (This street, Utrechtsestraat, is a very nice street btw! Be sure to take a look around before or after coffee.)
