I was brought to this restaurant by a local. I didn’t know much about this place before my meal. However, everything from the bread, starter, main dish, to dessert was all delicious and beautifully presented. The service was exceptional and there is also a beautiful view of the water from inside. After my meal I walked outside to see previous Michelin star awards. I didn’t know this before the meal, but wasn’t surprised to see that afterwards.

As a big thank you, I was invited by friends to have a (boozy) lunch here, which involved truffles.
Well. Say the magic word (truffle, see me waggling my tail?) and I will drop everything! Truffles all the way, starter, main AND desert, could a Friday lunch get any better? «Loki, I say thee nay!»
Well ok maybe yes.
— If this was all served on a sunny terrace i’d be the happiest girl alive
— the tables are set up kinda close to the next. The downside of an old yet charming building: not a lot of space.
— the host seemed to forgot her purpose. That or she was really not looking forward to have us there. (Considering we decided on a boozy lunch, i kinda understand…)
Oh well, either way we had a lovely lunch, served by a lovely waitress. Already planning my next visit. Can’t! Wait! (See, even the thought of it makes my tail waggle insanely!)

This is such a quaint lovely little restaurant with a very romantic ambience. My husband and I once again had a 4-​course lunch with a groupon. It is easy to find. It is right next to a canal with windows of the restaurant overlooking the canal and Damrak where the Christmas stalls are lined up (this was Dec 10). The service was awesome I couldn’t have asked for better service. We were served with appetizers (see pics), main course was fish, everything was delicious and meticulously prepared. I hate olives because of the nasty aftertaste but these guys marinate their own olives and they were just so succulent I didn’t want to stop eating them. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves mushrooms and want to be a little adventurous with their taste buds. I would come back to this restaurant again.

Food is 5 star. Truly exceptional and prepared with great care. Service is very slow but not due to fault of servers. They are attentive and professional but courses arrive slowly. Perfection takes time and the kitchen is not a factory. I highly recommend this restaurant for a meal you will remember. It just doesn’t get any better.

I love love love to eat. I love to eat at nice places. De Campagnon is really, really nice. The food is exquisite, the wine list is 2 books long (one book is red, one is white) and when we went for valentine’s day, and it was quite romantic. However, I found it to be a little stuffy and formal. Now, this is just my personal taste, and if you are into super fancy dinners then go for it and the food and service will not disappoint you However, in my opinion there are other restaurants in Amsterdam that have food just as amazing but a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. De Utrechtsedwarstafel, for example.
