One of the sweetest, most petitely fabulous restaurants in Amsterdam. It’s a short walk from the station and close to the Zoo. When it’s so easy to get overpriced food near attractions Bloem is super reasonable, and exhibits very manicured taste. We had their coffee(delightful) and their falafel, avocado, goat cheese, and lemon mayonnaise sandwiches(on their freshly-made bread). They have a great new take on traditional ideas, but not too far to be unrecognizable. What’s more amazing, is their cheese is vegetarian, because they ensure it was made with vegetable rennet! Plus, it’s an amazing place to just hang out; go on a rainy day and you’re sure to have an uplifting time.

The homemade sausage sandwich was excellent. Great to be able to sit next to the canal and enjoy such good food.

Hidden away across the canal from the Artis. Excellent lunch menu with unexpectedly broad selection of robust sandwiches, a nice change from the usual café Tosties. We had a veggie, a cheese and a sausage and were all pleased. The menu appears to have an organic slant. A nice selection of beers and ample outdoor canal side seating. We stopped also in the evening for a snack. A good ravioli starter and distinctive French fries. The dinner menu was limited but what we saw other diners eating looked like the standards are upheld.

Very good and genuine place with good food and friendly staff. During afternoon you sit in the sun just by the canal.

Fantastic gourmet sandwiches made with fresh organic ingredients and tasty white, wholemeal or spelt bread. You can also order a healthy salad or eggs on toast. Atmosphere is great, it seems like a place where locals go and you have also a great view over the canal! Can definitely recommend this place! Coffee is also great!

I really, really, really want to love this place. The place is so cute, the location is so perfect, everything is organic, and they quote freakin’ Winnie the Pooh on their homepage! All ingredients that would make me go again and again — alas, I can’t bring myself to go back there. I came here on a slightly rainy Friday evening so the place was quiet — maybe 3 or so other tables were filled up. We ordered some incredible wine(this they do well), I ordered a salad and my friend ordered walnut ravioli. This is when things started to get weird. First of all, it took *so* long for us to be served that I wasn’t even hungry anymore when the food came — and I’ll repeat that the place was nearly empty. Secondly, my salad looked lovely and huge, but upon trying to eat it I stumbled onto a whole bunch of impossible-to-chew pieces of… something. It literally tasted like bunches of hay. And there were so many of these that every bite had me spitting things out into a napkin. Charming! Meanwhile, my friend’s ravioli dish had about 3 raviolis in it and they tasted ridiculously sweet — not quite what you expect from a main course. Basically I came home and ate half of the contents of my fridge after having ‘dinner’ here. But I’m giving it three stars because it has so much potential, damn it!

This is my favourite place in the neighbourhood. Great organic food and drinks, lovely staff and a relaxing atmosphere, especially outside in the sun!

Five stars if the weather is good and you’re sitting at an outside table along the canal.

Everything is good and organic. you get what you pay for! I had some bad experiences but then they always make it up to me with delicious red wine. I still love you, Bloem. So you know, their menu is seasonal.

Took forever to get the food. But on the other hand it tasted good. Service 2 star, food 4 star. Total review — 3 star. Completely logical.

I love this place! If you want to laze and chill by the canal and enjoy the sun and quiet with some good drinks and food then this is the place to be folks! I went here around 4 pm on a sunny day and sat outside. It was tranquil and lovely. The wine was great, the food was amazing and the service was prompt. I tried some cupcakes on the way out and they were delicious. So, if you are looking for a beautiful peaceful neighborhood café — this is it!
