First of all I want to appreciate the Great idea behind InStock: Using Food which would be thrown away to create new and fancy meals. As this Sweet Story isn’t all, the Food was really delicious. I had a vegetarian lunch menu, which was all 3 courses on one plate: soup as starter, Chips, Omelette, coquette, salad and 2 different Gelees to dip as main course and a straticulate Dessert! Yummie! Only negative Point is, that the dish was rather small, so not everyone was sated. Staff was really friendly altough we were a big Group of about 30 people which could have been annoying. They also Have a beautiful and large terrace to sit outside! Spread your Great idea and I hope to see a InStock Restaurant in Germany someday!

I love the concept of this restaurant and the food was pretty good — solid 4 stars from me.

Brilliant concept — spent a wonderful evening here with friends in August. The food was very good and a surprise, which we all loved. It doesn’t pay to review the menu because it changed daily, depending on the donation they receive from the super markets. Love the interior!

Good initiative but… Maybe they should check the food they get better. I had the poor idea to get an egg with cheese and resulted in 2 days of food poisoning.

5 stars for concept, interior design, friendly staff, location. 4 stars for food. What a brilliant concept. Utilizing food that markets would throw out and waste. Instead, Instock picks up vegetables, fruits, meats, etc. daily from local shops and then builds a daily menu around what they have from the markets. So, nothing goes to waste. 22 euros for 3 course menu. You can’t choose the menu, it chooses you. :) Delicious meal had here last night. Will repeat asap. Great for kids. Great for lunches and dinners and great terrace. Really, a wonderful new place. Highly recommended.

Overall: Great effort, decent execution. I’m not going to discuss my own value judgment of the concept of InStock, suffice it to say that they rescue food that would otherwise be thrown away and turn it into meals. 50% of the food we produce gets thrown away and they want to draw attention to this, so they are as much about spreading the message as about the actual process. Some people like this, some don’t, but the food is all perfectly fine to eat. Food: 3.5÷5 Obviously they have to work with what they are given, but to me the food was a bit too«Dutch palate» to be truly enjoyable. We had broccoli soup(which was literally just warm grated broccoli with some garlic, a very weird mealy texture), curried beef and potatoes(nice flavours but absolutely lacking any spice/salt/interest) and devil’s food cake with oranges and a little bit of cream(clearly out of a box). Everything was *fine*, especially for the price of € 22 for the whole meal, but objectively as a meal? Meh. Atmosphere: 3⁄5 When we arrived at 8 pm on a Wednesday it was PACKED. Luckily we reserved, but we were squeezed into a row of tables with large groups on either side of us. You couldn’t get up to use the bathroom without hitting someone in the face with your butt. Accordingly it was also very very loud and my party of 3 had a lot of trouble hearing each other even though we were around a tiny table. Décor and everything is nice but this is definitely a trouble point. Service: 4.5÷5 Not a full 5 stars because they did get some things wrong a couple of times, but overall the service was lovely — very friendly, very earnest, and clearly very invested in the whole concept and wanting everyone to have a good experience.(AKA the opposite of normal Dutch service!) One of the cooks even came out from the kitchen to ask us how we liked the meal. Easily the best part of the experience!
