We had purchased a grab one voucher and we were super excited to try out this cosy restaurant.
Black Sugar Grill surpassed all of our expectations.
With a set menu, I had the salt and pepper squid as an entrée, the pork belly for the main and a crème brule for dessert.
It was all cooked beautifully and the seasoning and sauces were perfect.
The only complaint I have is the price of the sides being $ 7.50 for a small bowl of chips, and $ 7.50 for «steamed vegetables» which was just broccoli and zucchini.
Highly recommend Black Sugar Grill.

Came here for a staff function. Came on a saturday at 7:30 and it was well busy when we arrived. We ordered drinks, which ended up only being half completed as the other half the waitress had forgotten. We had ordered our entrees and mains, with the entrees arriving about 9pm! Once the entrees were taken away, we then had the waitress come back several times saying they did not have a few ingredients that were on the menu (duck breast, brocolli and a couple of sides). Apart from the service and lack of ingrediets — food was divine. However, because it took so long and the meal was quite late, our appetites diminished.

Came here for a Friday date night, and could not have been happier with the experience. The restaurant looks small from the outside, and although it is much bigger when inside it does have a very intimate and welcoming feel. We were greeted by the restaurant manager who was very helpful in explaining the menu and the wine list to us. The timing of the food arrival was very good, and our drinks were refilled regularly. For mains we had the prawn risotto and the lamb chops, and both were just superb.
This is just an excellent restaurant through and through, and such a gem in Mission Bay. We had a lovely night and would certainly go back. The atmosphere for dinner allows for both a dressy casual and a more dressed up attire.

Beautiful food! The Baghdad Eggs are divine and perfect for those who struggle with the usual Big Breakfast. You can even get Black Pudding on the side with any of the breakfasts. Best bit for us is how child friendly it is. Our little girl is treated like a little princes every time.
