Amazing! Had the fish and chips! Not only was the fish amazing but the simple French fries were perfect! But back to the fish… ya it was amazing! Light and flacky and not greasy like fish and chips can be! Totally recommended it!

Wow! So good! We (party of 6) had salmon, fish and chips, and garlic shrimp. Seating upstairs is fun. Really helpful and friendly folks, suggestions were good!

I agree with all the reviews here, this place is top notch. Scored the $ 10 fish and chips lunch special and wasn’t disappointed. Massive gurnard and pretty tasty chips.
Apart from the size of the fish, it’s done in a tasty tempura batter which went down a treat. And the complimentary tartare and tomato sauce was an unexpected bonus… Take note other fish and chipperies!!!
Tempted to say the place is disgusting just so I can save it all for myself. Actually, yeah it’s gross. Don’t go there. Especially Friday lunchtime!!! I need to go back a few more times just to make sure that it’s still yuck.

Great service and great quality food. I always seek out a fish and chip shop when in Auckland, you cannot visit New Zealand without trying out a source of their great seafood.
But the great thing with Sea Cow is that you can sit down and enjoy your bounty! Fish of the day, whichever way you like it cooked.

Stopped in for lunch. The special was fish and chips with salad for $ 12. We had one crumbed and one battered. Both were delicious. Not at all greasy and the crumbed was wonderfully crunchy. Good chips and nice green salad. Quick friendly service. Great coffee. Lived up to expectations.

Fish and chips here is amazing! Every time is perfectly done, we tried their crumbed, battered and grilled version. All delisous. We also had their squid before whiche also taste great. As other reviewers mentioned, it’s awesome fish and chips for the price!

Best seafood place anywhere! Prices can’t be beat for what you get at this place. Everything is served fresh, delicious and appealing. The place is not too fancy but it’s all about the food and awesome service and that’s what matters the most. We’ve brought many friends and family to dine here and they have been so impressed that they’ve brought their friends and family. Their highest priced meals (which is really cheap!) is way better than other restaurant’s cheapest meals and I’ve eaten at many many restaurants from fine dining to local eaterys. This is one of my top 5 list of places to eat when I want to dine out and it’s not easy to give 5stars, even in Auckland but If you like seafood and you want value for money, this is the place to go!!!

A very nice fish and chips shop. The restaurant itself is pretty small but they do have some extra seats outside. We went for the fish n chips $ 10 deal which was a great portion of not too oily, fluffy fish over a bed of thick cut chips. Also they give you a small tartar sauce or ketchup to go with your order, how about that! The menu also has salads and other sea food dishes. I would recommend this fish n chips place over the other one in the Mission Bay Area.

I came here for some takeaway fish & chips at Mission Bay after reading Unilocal reviews for a few places nearby. Service was super friendly, HUGE portion of food (I couldnt finish half my chips), and I’m pretty sure the cheapest price on that strip, $ 10. They have a nice little setup if you wanted to eat there, too. This is my new go-​to fish & chips spot in Mission Bay.

Yummmm!!! Beautiful food, excellent services, nice location. Best weekend brunch place. It makes me want to go again tonight. Ok. I will call them and reserve a table now. Yummy. Btw, their blue cod is good. They also have $ 10 special. What $ 10 special! ?? Yes, I know.

One of my favourite hideouts.
A not so noticeable little shop front on the corner of mission bay.
Since I first stumbled upon this little homey paradise I’ve been regretting not finding out about this place earlier.
Simple homey menu, just about anything you’d really want from amazingly fresh seafood.
And yes, the seafood is so fresh i feel like I can swim with it lol.
The whole restaurant gives a vibe like a good old friend or some old time retreat that’s hard to find these days.
A definite must although I kinda want to keep this place all to myself.

My definition of five star is, the establishment has to serve great food for its price range. And the sea cow does just that. I didn’t go for their famous 10 dollar fish of day, instead I opted for the 19 dollar battered snapper with chips and salad. I was absolutely gob smacked when the friendly waitress brought a large plate with 4 pieces of fillets on it. The fillets are very nicely done. coated in a light as feather batter, it’s crunchy and crispy without being oily. The fish is still moist on the inside. And the tartare sauce is something I would like to replicate at home myself. It is rather delicious. So, when you serve great good at a very reasonable price. You deserve a 5 star review. :-)

The best fish and chips I’ve had in Auckland so far!
We made the trip out to Mission Bay just for fish and chips and was not disappointed. The only thing was the late open time of Sea Cow at 11:30am. We were burning in the sun to kill time but no complaints because the weather was perfect.
We both opted for the regular fish and chips for $ 10. What a deal! You get a choice to have it battered, grilled or crumbed. The crumbed was a good option because it had a good crunch to it. To make it even better, the fish wasn’t drenched in oil… much appreciated! I wished they gave a little bit more chips but it was enough to satisfy and the small salad was a nice touch.
Service was fast and friendly. I’m very glad to have found this place thanks to Unilocal and will be back for more! Oh, and how convenient that there’s a cute little ice cream shop couple doors down!

Oh my goodness… hands down the best fish and chips along the waterfront! Many awesome fish and seafood options, and their chips are to die for, while salads are also refreshing if you get one. Very reasonably priced for what you get! Friendly staff too. Highly recommended!
