The food is ok. It isn’t as good as it used to be with the quality of ingredients. It is however good with a big group of people. Wait staff are very efficient and the drinks are delivered quickly. I think they need to step it up a bit with the quality of the food however which is why I’ve left the rating a bit low.

I ordered bread and mixed dips all, except hummus, were exceptionally oily. I then ordered the rare beef salad which was a few leaves, 2 slices of cucumber, 1 tomato and a tiny bit of feta. The meat was tender but not rare but was tasty. The mustard cream dressing was overpowering pure English mustard. All in all a very disappointing meal. Will not be returning.

We were a group of friends having a catch up and this place is perfect! Casual and friendly, good food and lots of chatter. Staff attentive and helpful. Strangely hard to find yet right on the corner. Don’t miss out because of lack of obvious signage(might well have been our lack of proper looking). Will go again and maybe when warmer brave the outside.

Having been going to this restaurant for over a decade I like to think of myself as a bit of a regular. As a kid I was stoked about the location — being opposite a park meant I could speed off there as soon as the adults started to bore me. Now, I think I appreciate it a whole load more, not only is the food incredible but the staff are also fantastic. The owner, Archie, is there every lunch and dinner service and pops around all the tables to come say hi and makes sure that everything is delicious — and it has yet to disappoint. Self proclaimed ‘best pizzas in the world’ and to be honest they can’t be far off. Always packed with flavour, they have great combinations with super fresh ingredients — I’m reasonably fussy but I’ve yet to find one that I like! I’ve only tried one pasta, the penne carbonara and it was seriously good, and incredible decadent. If you’re looking for something a little bit more guilt free, the seafood salad has been a hit amongst me and my friends this summer for either lunch or dinner. It’s packed with loads of fresh seafood including scallops, prawns, mussels and white fish served with some creamy aioli it’s a major crowd pleaser. Archie’s also has some great vibes no matter what time of day it is, their outside area is my favourite so it’s perfect for lunch time or those summer evenings. However, there is something about being in a cosy Italian restaurant, right near the pizza oven on a winters night that doesn’t sounds too bad to me! It’s pretty price friendly so I would happily go with a group of friends(but prefer to go if it’s my parents shout) I can see myself coming here for years to come!

Just sitting on the inner corner of the line of cafes and eateries, Archie’s has a cool lunch special where you can get anything off the menu– salad, pasta or pizza for $ 14. Ordered their fettucine pollo which came in a large, deep white bowl with chicken breast pieces mixed with mushroom, garlic, olive oil and fresh herbs. A nice parmesan cheese, creamy sauce that the waiters can crack pepper over for you if you wish. Very filling and a good meal to takeaway for later which one of the girls had to do. Their salad looked appetising and would like to come back to share some pizzas. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available, depending on what you feel for. The outdoors aren’t fully exposed to the elements with tarpaulin-like walls facing onto the main road but still letting in sunlight. Indoors have a warm, welcoming feel with the wooden interiors everywhere. If you’re feeling for some satisfying Italian, stop by here– especially for lunch.

Went here for a birthday lunch this afternoon. It was rather difficult to find, as there’s no visible name on the front. I pulled out google maps only to discover I was standing directly across the road from Archies! So for all those wondering, it is on the corner of Short St & Davis Crescent. Nice menu selection and reasonably priced. I ended up having a chicken pizza, which was made on turkish bread. An interesting, different taste from your normal pizza base. The staff were friendly, attentive and happy throughout our visit. Clearly well looked after! I would come again.

This place for some reason reminds me of a typical busy restaurant in New York… but the funny part is that I’ve never been to New York! Funny that. But yeah great food and a great atmosphere. The menu is minimal but for a good reason. Their pizza’s could feed a small army! Not to mention their prices are good and reasonable. The only thing I would fix if I were them would be their staff. maybe train them a little more as half of us had cutlery and the other half didn’t. We waited but ended up having to remind the staff member. But otherwise a great location and a good experience over all.

I tend to avoid Italian food because it tastes, to me anyway, bland with every dish tasting the same. Archie’s has re-educated me. Last night I had their pizza, tonight I had the pasta. Both were absolutely amazing and I will definitely be back. Great service, the most wonderful food, buzzing and friendly atmosphere — everything is incredible!

Love this place so much, my partner and I go here often. There’s always a table, the service is quick and friendly and the food is always good. And it’s a must to buy their $ 2 baked on site ciabatta, it’s so yummy!!! If you haven’t been here it’s a must, and it’s so reasonable our bill is always under $ 55 including drinks.

First visit to Archie’s today for lunch — $ 14 menu had heaps of pasta choices and several pizza options baked in a wood fire oven. Pizza was traditional Italian thin crust but oh so tasty! Ordered the chicken pesto pizza as well as prosciutto with mushrooms. Generous toppings for both pizza! Big serving of pasta also with generous amounts of ham. Service is excellent. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Our table was wobbly when we came in. Not even 5 minutes from being seated, we had our water on the table and our table leveled. Order taken and not long after our food was served. Wait time was 10 minutes at most considering it was a busy time. The bonus of the visit was that they gave our girls a dough to roll each while waiting for our food. This was a clever way of keeping them occupied and so appropriate for the place! They even baked this in their wood fire oven and gave to the girls after. Definitely coming back to Archie’s!

I come here most Sundays after church and every time we have the most amazing experience at Archie’s. The restaurant is always lively and always, without a doubt, provides the most amazing Italian food. The staff are so great too, we’ve even come to know a few of them by name. And Archie, the owner and namesake of the restaurant, is always really present, hands-on and comes to see how we’re going. He’s a true Italian man and really emphasizes the Italian vibe. My favourite meal is the rare beef salad. I love salad but I also love meat and this is the perfect mix for me. You come away feeling healthy and satisfied. Another win on the menu is the Pollo e Pesto that is a beautiful pizza with chicken, zucchini, pesto and pine nuts. Delicious. And it’s even better because they have gluten free bases!

If you’re after traditional Italian with a modern flare, come on down to Archies in Newmarket. Hidden behind the Event cinemas, right next to the big parking building, you will find Archies right on the corner of Davis Crescent. Here you will be greeted by the lovely, clean shaven, slicked back hair Archie, who’s top priority is to make your experience the most enjoyable ever! From here you can be seated inside, on the patio, or right outside under massive umbrellas. The food here is always amazing! They have a large selection of pizzas, pastas, salads and some delicious desserts! I quite like coming to Archies at lunch time as they have a $ 14 lunch menu. However, if I’m here for dinner I always start with one of the delicious bruschetta’s. Archies is always great for a big group dinner as they have BYOW. You cant go past BYO!

Frequently dragged to the restaurant by a friend, I have had indifferent experiences at this place. The best food I had was a seafood salad which was fresh and tasty, perfect for a light meal I was wanting. It is enjoyable to be seated outside and enjoy a glass of wine(it is BYO). It creates quite an atmosphere outside on the street in the back of Newmarket(behind the movie theatre), helping to emphasise the authentic Italian feel. I have had average experiences with the pasta dishes, although the pizzas are quite tasty, but quite light(in size) compared to other pizzerias.

I love Italian food. If it weren’t so sadly fattening I would live on pizza and pasta. And so I think I would choose to live at Archies. This place is constantly buzzing but somehow they always manage to fit you in. Even though this hot spot is always packed the waits aren’t excessively long. So before you know it a scrumptious bowl of spaghetti or a traditional Italian pizza is plopped in front of you to enjoy. Best part about this restaurant is the special treatment the kids get! My 3-year-old nephew was treated to his own dollop of dough and a rolling pin so he could make his own pizza while he waited. Nothing can shut a toddler up quite like some gooey dough!
