Softsrve has been serving creamy softserve ice cream in Damansara Utama since March 2015. I’ve been wanting to try out the ice cream but the place is ALWAYS packed on weekends and weekday nights! The interior of Softsrve has been kept simple with limited seats. The softserve ice cream is smooth and creamy, and they tend to offer unique flavours too. I tried their pop-up flavours — Honey Matcha series, a collaboration between Softsrve and Royce Chocolate. The matcha flavours were not too over-powering an paired very well with the chocolate.

Overall: not bad. I got the«breakfast» combo: the cereal milk with strawberry and candied cereal. The cereal milk ice cream is clearly inspired by the Momofuku version. The taste is a little to subtle for me – would’ve appreciated more cereal in my milk, really. Overall, it was ok for RM12. The dry ice is a totally unnecessary addition, although it makes for a nifty Instagram video or Snapchat story. I prefer the soft serve over at Honey Crème in Hartamas, but this’ll do!

Awful. Took a good 15 minutes for them to put the sundae together. The matcha ice cream didn’t taste of anything remotely resembling matcha. And 16 bucks for a portion around the size of a McD’s soft serve, held up with some broken up biscuits and a couple of mochi balls, is far too high a price.

This is a place I have been wanting to try for quite some time. The hype is not over yet as there are many customers coming in. Softsrve is beautifully decorated with a white theme which makes the whole place really well litted. The presentation of the ice cream has that extra oomph with the dry ice effect. One thing though, the ice cream is served in a smaller cup and the bigger cup is for the dry ice. So don’t get over excited to see such a big cup. But the portion is just right for one person. My recommendation is the Breakfast Cereal with Cereal Milk ice cream. The cereal gives the whole soft ice cream some crunch which I really LOVE.

I just finished my lunch around uptown damansara area, and I happen stumble upon this ice cream shop with a nice minimalist interior design. I was curious about this new dessert place, even though I haven’t read any online reviews beforehand. Enough about my backstory, lets get down to business. I know that the smoke effect coming out of the ice cream cup can be gimmicky, but the taste of the ice cream is actually really good. However, this only applies to the cereal milk flavour, in my opinion. The chocolate flavour or even the green tea flavour(flavour of the season) is nowhere near as good. The menu is also a little confusing. On the top of the menu is actually the types of flavours(Cereal Milk, Deep Chocolate, etc) while each items in the menu is actually the types of toppings available to choose from. I’ve tried my Cereal Milk ice cream with Curros, and it’s really good. Overall, I would still give it 5 stars for taste and presentation. Good job!

Admittedly, some might find the dry ice in the bigger cup thing a bit gimmicky, but makes for some great Instagram pics. Also, the sign is also up, so it’s easier to find now. Unless you’re fortunate enough to get parking in the area during banking/business hours, I would suggest going either in the evenings or on weekends. Had the dark chocolate soft serve with churros, which I really, really liked — the ice cream was pretty good and the churros was freshly made and crunchy to the end, even the end that was in the ice cream. That aside, RM10 — RM16 for how much ice cream you actually get(in the smaller cup that’s nestled in the bigger cup with the dry ice) is a bit expensive. But I want to go back and try the other things. How?!

Softsrve Ice Cream & Dessert at Damansara Uptown Petaling Jaya is drawing another ice-cream fever over the town as soon as it showed up. Arranged two entryways far from Wondermilk, same column with The Good Batch, Softsrve Ice Cream doesn’t have a shopsign as of now. So simply pay special mind to Capital Nasi Dagang and Tiramisu Café meanwhile on the off chance that you wanted to visit, as Softsrve is just between them. 1)Breakfast RM12 Soft serve ice cream with Caramelized Cereal & Macaroon Shell 2)Honey Chips RM10 Soft serve ice cream with Crushed Potato Chips & Drizzle of Honey 3)Theatre RM12 Soft serve ice cream with Gourmet Popcorn 4)Fluffy RM10 Soft serve ice cream with Cotton Candy & Sprinkles of Himalayan Sea Salt 5)Honey Brick RM12 Soft Serve ice cream with a piece of New Zealand Honeycomb Visited Softsrve Ice Cream a few weeks since their opening and incredibly, the group was past our desire. Full house amid evening, business was great in spite of the constrained delicate serve dessert decisions on the menu. At the point when dry ice put in water, sublimation methodology is quickened, making voluminous water haze that ends up being the«offering focuses» in Softsrve Damansara Uptown. Presently, there are just 5 sorts of softserve ice-cream to look over. This is a must try for anyone who has an adventure for softserve ice-cream with a little fun in it.

Have been longing to try this place out and finally went today. Well I’m pretty lucky to not be queuing up in long queues and i got a seat immediately after i bought my ice cream. :) lucky day huh? Loving the interior, white and spacious and bright, simple and elegant. Best for photoshoots :) Well I tried their deep chocolate flavor and it was really good. Loved how they presented the ice cream with their dried ice layer at the bottom. It also prevented the ice crean from melting too soon. I tried the one without any additonal toppings because i love to experiment the original flavor of it. I couldn’t finish it myself. I recommend sharing it with 3 or 4 friends. It’s quite rich in flavor and I remembered drinking so much water after almost every 4 bites. I will come back again and try their butterscotch flavor as it looked equally good too :) more experiments the next trip!

I visited this place with my girlfriend after she insisted that we visit after seeing people posting it online. It is a very simple ice cream with a simple idea matching the simplistic minimalist shop décor. Although simple but a very smart idea which attracts people to come and try it. It is served in a double cup with smoke oozing out from the sides. At first glance you would think that its a single cup with smoke coming from the ice cream, but after further inspection I realized that it was from inside the second cup where there were ninja dry ice hiding to strike at anytime. I guess it acts as a cooler for the ice cream as well. When I visited, they had a new flavor — butterscotch. It actually tasted pretty good. We had the one with the churros; the churros were a bit hard though, hard to bite into. But other than that I have no complains. We also tried their sparkling juice — The Tapping Tapir(apple & vanilla flavor). That was quite nice too, a bit on the sweet side, but with the ice that comes with it helps to dilute it. A plus point definitely goes to the waiters and waitresses who were extremely friendly.

For an ice cream parlor, this place serves pretty decent ice cream, but with decent ice cream comes similar tastes to other parlors too. Other parlors like McDonald’s, of course! McDonald’s vanilla flavored ice cream tastes exactly the same as the one served here, and while they do taste almost the same, Softsrve offers a certain quality that most ice cream parlors do not have; the real taste of vanilla. Other than that, I don’t see no reason why the taste here can topple any ice cream, because the taste itself is meek to the mouth, and not that good. That being said, if you love ice cream, this is the place to go, because the taste is not as bad as it sounds.

This is a new ice cream parlor in town located at Damansara Uptown, same row as WonderMilk and I’ve never seen anything like this! They serve ice cream with 2 Breaksticks inside and you have an option of whether you want it normal or cereal based. I tried the cereal based and it reminded me of cornflakes and frosties. What puts this shop apart from other ice cream shops is that they serve it with dry ice! So when they serve the ice cream, you get lots of smoke that comes with it and gives it the illusion that the ice cream is ‘smokin hot(or cold). In other words, it makes it more fun to eat! Love it! The whole store concept is all white, just like all their ice creams.

What intrigued me about Softsrve was that in every picture i saw was that their ice seemed to have some sort of smoke flowing over the cups. When i actually bought my own i discovered that there are actually two cups and that there is a small block of dry ice at the bottom of the larger cup, and that the actual ice cream is resting in a smaller cup on top of the larger one. At first glance the Ice Cream looks just like regular McDonald’s Vanilla Ice Cream but when i actually tasted it i was surprised by how milky the flavor was. Their Ice Cream is in fact, not Vanilla but Cereal Milk flavor. Which has a distinctive wheat taste which I enjoyed. I ordered«Breakfast», which is the Cereal Milk Ice Cream with caramelized cereal pieces and a macaroon shell on top. The cereal pieces added sweetness and a biscuit like texture to the Ice Cream. They also serve a «Deep Chocolate» flavor, which in my opinion tastes exactly like a McDonald’s Chocolate Sundae.

I’m all for clean and white interiors. Gotta love minimalist typeface with simple font and lots of white space. While many people queue up for the ice cream throughout the day, I found the interior to be the nicest thing about this place. The ice cream was decent, I would recommend chocolate over cereal. But what I struggled with while eating my cup of softserve was trying to justify that this wasn’t merely a glorified McD sundae. But… I failed. Maybe I wouldn’t have felt that way if the small cups of softserve cost over RM10 each. Maybe I found the dry ice and cotton candy a bit too gimmicky. Maybe I was annoyed by the crowd of people in the parlour. I just can’t seem to love this place as much as I would want to. I will return again soon, hopefully they will add new flavours or expand the menu. Hopefully I will find something mindblowingly good or otherworldly. Till then, it’s 2 stars from me.

The latest ice cream parlour to hit PJ, some say Softsrve is the epitome of hipster-dome. Looking at their instagram I was definitely intrigue. I visited softsrve at around 10pm on Sunday and there was still quite a crowd. So a bit of waiting was in order but I felt the line moved pretty fast. Obviously the servers have already developed a well run system. Though the menu is limited, serving only two ice cream flavours, they have very interesting toppings. I had the cereal milk ice cream with honeycomb which was alright. Nothing amazing although I did like it better than Milk Cow’s solely because of the ice cream flavour. My friend had the Breakfast which was really good. I love the crunchyness it has along with the macaron shell. However I have to say it is pretty expensive for ice cream which comes in a little cup. And the dry ice serves no purpose except for effect. I didn’t think it helped kept the container cool that much. Expect to be paying more than RM10.

Meh is all I can say for this dessert bar. It’s quite a shocker to find a long queue after dinner hours and that’s what led me to have that need to try out what is all the fuss about. They have a brightly lit interior that is very inviting. People will be lining up and you’ll be eyeing on all the cups of ice cream with puffy smoke coming out of them. It is quite a clever gimmick to capture attention and create hype, especially for all the kids there. I tried their truffle and churros dark chocolate ice cream and all I can say is that it’s just your conventional cone ice cream with dark choclate flavor and mediocre truffles to go along with it. Churros on the other hand is nicely done and the crunchiness of it does taste good.

It was a hot sunday and the sun was scorching. A trickle of sweat prompted me to search for refuge from the heat and I took shelter at KL’s latest ice cream fad place, Softsrve. Located at damansara uptown on the same row as Wondermilk, Softsrve has been making waves on social media as the latest food fad in town. Part of its appeal is thanks to the dry ice that comes with it so that it doesn’t melt too quickly. Don’t be fooled with the size though as the ice cream actually comes in a smaller cup which is placed inside a bigger cup filled with dry ice. When I first arrived, the café was half empty. As it was my first time there, the girl at the counter explained to me what they offered and gave me a generous bowl of sample to try out. Softsrve’s ice cream are made out of cereal milk, providing it with a richer flavour than your usual ice cream and it was quite milky as well. It reminded me of eating a bowl of cornflakes with milk. I opted for the honey brick which came with new zealand honeycomb though I was a little disappointed as the honeycomb was way smaller especially when you compare it to Milkcow’s honeycomb. Other tempting toppings they offered were Breakfast, Honey chips, garrett popcorn and cotton candy with himalayan sea salt. Luckily for me, as soon as I sat down with my order, a long queue had already formed outside the door as the crowd had appeared out of nowhere. The interior of the place takes on a minimalistic japanese café inspired theme which was refreshing compared to the raw interior most cafes in Kl follow. As it was their soft launch, i had a 20% off discount which was a sweet deal but expect to pay about RM12 per cup.
