This place has their own spin on pies, serving it with mashed peas and gravy, which may not be for everyone. I tried the pies and it’s substantial, but the crust is not as buttery as my current favourite pie place. Parking is an issue here for sure, but gets better after 6pm. But then the shop may get too busy and the pies you want may be sold out, or you may not be able to get a seat. Fret not, there’s always takeaway. Nice stop if you want a quick bite, but not somewhere to linger.

Love the concept but there’s only one type of pastry for everything, including the desserts — that is that thick buttery crust. Where’s the flaky puff pastry? Where’s kidney & beans, onion and cheese, cornish? The steak and the lamb are not bad. Not the chicken mushroom — a little tasteless. Nice environment. But a lil’ expensive. Btw, not all pie are good with the gravy and mashed potato. Some are good on its own — like the Chunky Steak.

All that hype. Coffee was terrible. Pie crust is not a favourite but well seasoned la

No complaints for the food. I love all of it! However, the place is pretty cramped and it cannot fit too many people. Not suitable for large groups. It is usually pretty busy, so, you won’t be able to stay too long for a chat as you would feel pressured to leave and free up some seats.

I love meat pies and I love dessert pies, and this place is really not too far away from me, so I had no excuse not to try. Since they’re only open from 4 p.m., it’s a dinner-only place. So if you wanted pie for lunch, you’re a bit out of luck(though I read that their new outlet is open for lunch.). Just as well, because parking is easier at that time of day, anyway. If it’s your first time there and you love meat pie, you can’t go wrong with the Mashacre(any meat pie + mash potatoes + mashed peas). Try the lamb and beef pie. Dessert pie: As much as I enjoy a good S’more, I was overjoyed to find that their S’more pie now also comes in dark chocolate. Prices are(admittedly) a bit expensive for the size of pie you’re getting, so it’s not an everyday thing but more like leisurely weekend kind of thing. PS. Wait to see what they do for Pi Day.

My favourite pie in town. Both sweet and savory pie to die for. Ive actually take away a few pies and made it into a birthday cake for a friend of mine. My favourite of the savory pie is the chunky steak pie. They are very generous with their filling. The pea mash topped in the pie is so yummylicious! I love their smores and their apple pie. All their pies will topped with ice cream and i will go back to try all their pies because i love their crust and filling. Their buttery crust will be to die for.

When I say I love pies, that’s an understatement. A friend brought me here a while back after she had tried it so i decided to takeaway a couple of pies for my parents and myself to try. The interior of the café is simple yet pleasant to hang around in for a while. It can get pretty crowded during weekends but on weekdays the noise levels isn’t too distracting and its a good spot to do assignments. I decided to try the Steak and Cheese Pie and I was pretty amazed at how good it was! There was tonnes of filling and the crust was just the right thickness. The filling was thick and creamy with generous chunks of meat. For dessert pies, I’ve tried 3. Lemon Curd, Nutella and Chocolate Peanut Butter. Out of the 3 I’d have to say that the Lemon curd was my favorite. The filling is sweet as well as having a tart sourness to it at the same time. The texture of the lemon curd is smooth and silky and basically a party for the taste buds. The Nutella pie is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and gets a little too sweet after about eating half the pie, I’d recommend sharing this one. The Chocolate peanut butter pie was good but nothing great. Personally, I’d have liked it more if there was more peanut butter in it. The texture of the filling was great though! Rather like a creamy fudge.

A Pie Thing opened sometime back and immediately became the in thing with a million pics on instagram. So naturally i was like I have to try this place! We had the Michael Jackson and a nutella pie. Honestly i was quite disappointed. Maybe i had my expectations to high cause of all the positive reviews this place was getting. I felt like the base was way to hard that we could not break through it and i didn’t like that at all. The pie itself was tasty but again, nothing great, we really went out of our way to try these pie’s but probably wouldn’t try it again. Price wise its normal. What i really liked was the deco of the restaurant, it had a very edgy hipsters feel to it.

Here they have a unique concept of serving their pies! A pie thing serves both savoury and sweet pies such as lamb pies, spinach pies, and even nutella pies. I even could customize my own pie and stack it with mash potatoes and mashed peas, I really do think that this place has something different to offer to its consumers! I really have to give credit to the creativity in creating those pies. We also ordered an apple crumble pie as dessert. There was a huge ball of vanilla ice cream served on top of it and it tasted really good. I originally wanted to order their top selling chocolate smores pie but i had a sore throat on that particular day. The only downside to this place is that they only open from 4pm-11pm because of their limited pies. So I don’t think you can have these pies during breakfast and lunch.

There’s no better place for pie than having some at A Pie Thing. It was so coincidental that I saw it while driving by. Their signage is something you cannot miss. However, their location at Damansara Uptown can be the downside because of the lack parking in the proximity, well that’s just being in the day. Though at night, parking is a lot easier. Ok about their pies! I was just a little bit too late that night, and most of their pies had been sold out. I managed to try their creamy spinach pie with gravy on top and Nutella pies. It was good, something different. Not many places that you can find pies in the Klang Valley. Service was alright, although a cockroach was seen, and it managed to crawl it way up on to one of A Pie Thing’s staff. It was a laugh but it did dropped some points. But oh well.

My friends and I came here one day to try their pies out. It was okay, something unique. Prices were kinda steep. However, the food and service were great. I tried out their Smores Pie, while my other friends tried out the savoury pies which were basically a pie filled with mashed potatoes, greens, chicken and gravy. My other friend was on the sweet team with me, trying out the sweet option. It was a sort of crumble I think. Whatever it is, it looked good with that scoop of ice cream on top! Overall, it’s a great place for snacking or light eaters. The ambience here is pretty rad, kind of modern yet simple.

Friend treated me for dinner during my birthday. It’s a special concept that they have here. Well, upon arrival I’m seeing a long queue at the door. I was lucky to secure a seat as someone just decided to leave. If you come during peak hours? Stand and eat lah. Or maybe take– away. But if you take-away, I don’t think it’ll taste as good as it supposed to be. Gravy might turn dry :/ Environment was pretty decent, simple concept, self-service and also easy-to-understand menu. They have a special way of presenting their pies. Just check out the pictures! I took the combo — pie + mashed potato + peas + gravy + drink. I took the chicken mushroom pie. Usual taste of normal pies outside. Well if you like peas, you might like it. I love peas, but i don’t like the peas :(I recommend just topping up some mashed potatoes with gravy will do. I couldn’t finish the portion. it was rather filling when I’m only halfway through it. If you’re not a big eater like me, share it with another friend who has a same appetite like you. Oh not to forget, their desserts are quite famous too. I haven’t tried them personally but will try them in the near future. They look amazing! Honest advice? They look great in pictures. But they are really just pies. You decide if you want to try. The experience was rather neutral for me.

A Pie Thing @ Damansara Uptown is a small popular shop around the corner. Operation hours are from 4pm to 11 pm, Tuesdays till Sundays. As you can imagine they serve different types of pies! If you’re feeling for a savory option, they have beef, lamb, chicken and even chili con carne with either cheese or spinach with assorted vegetables. They are topped off with mashed potatoes, peas and gravy. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a s’more concept pie with a melted Belgian chocolate filling and roasted marshmallows. Other choices would be Apple crumble, Nutella, cheese, sweet potato and the Elvis pies(peanut butter, chocolate and bananas). Though the portion is small not ideal for sharing I usually go there for dessert and it has a nice cosy interior to enjoy your pies. Worth a try at least once!

I decided to go to A Pie Thing after seeing so many posts on instagram and I felt i should give this a try. The exterior of the shop is really inviting because of the big sign board which shouts out A Pie Thing! When I walked in, I was greeted well by the service staff and then I proceeded to order my pie. They have 2 types of pies; savory and sweet. Each type has many varieties you could choose from as well. I ordered a pulled lamb pie and Nutella ice-cream pie. While they were heating up my pie, I proceeded to take a seat. I noticed that he interior was very simple but well organized as they cleverly maximized the usage of a small space. When iI got my pie, i did not wait to dig int! the pie was flaky and soft and the lamb just oozed in my mouth. the add on of mashed potato and gravy completed the dish very well as it was a perfect combination. I really enjoyed the pulled lamb pie. My second pie was the Nutella and ice cream pie. Not being a sweet tooth person, I did not enjoy this pie very much. It was too sweet to my liking and it was very dry. In my opinion, it is quite pricey for a small pie and the add-ons just add on to the high amount that you’re already paying. To conclude, I went in expecting a great pie experience but I was not very impressed with the taste of it as it was just average. I might go back to try another savory pie if I am nearby there but I would not go out of my way to have a pie at this restaurant.

A Pie Thing is something new and interesting new to the town as they sell PIES only, of course with some other beverages. I’ve been hearing some good reviews from my friends so I decided to give it a try. The café is not very big and it was so crowded when I reached, which I had to queue up for a while to place the orders and look for a table as well. A pie thing offers a wide range of various pies from salty to sweet. If you want to have a normal meal, salty pie will be a good choice while sweet flavour is more like a dessert. I was a bit greedy that time so I ordered one salty pie and one sweet pie. In A Pie Thing, you get to customise your own pie. After choosing the flavour that you want, you may choose your own topping. So, I ordered a Maschare(chicken mushroom pie topped with mash potatoes, peas and gravy) and a Nutella pie with vanilla ice-cream. I love them both as it taste really good. The downside of this café is the working hours. They only open from 4pm-11pm as it’s too light for a dinner while too heavy to have a tea time that close to dinner time. But I will definitely revisit again to try out other flavours.

A Pie Thing has been operating for some time, but I’ve never really thought of dropping by till recently. The shop is located along LDP highway, and it’s quite easy to spot. I was told that the place is always crowded, but we were there early and lucky enough to grab a sit by the door. It was only minutes after we arrived, that the crowd start to pour in and the queue started growing. They have both sweet and savoury pies to offer, and you can choose what type of toppings you want on your pie. Since my friends and I had a heavy lunch before this, we decided to order a few to share. We had the Pulled Lamb Pie to go with The Mashacre, which was a combination of pie + mashed potatoes + peas + gravy. The crust was crispy; the lamb was gamey and flavourful. The gravy on the mashed tied all the components together. We ordered a sweet pie too — Apple Crumble. I’m currently having a weird urge to have banana or apple crumble, especially when they are paired with ice cream! Don’t you think the hot and cold combination were just perfect? The Apple Crumble was delicious too. The sugary crust was crispy and the sweet vanilla ice cream balanced out the acidity of the apples in the pie. Joe had the Nutella with Ice Cream, and I was expecting to see the Nutella spread came oozing out from the pie, like a molten lava cake. Sadly, this wasn’t the case. Anyway, I’m not a chocolate lover, so I wasn’t really into this pie that much. Overall, it was a satisfying experience at A Pie Thing. It’s really difficult to find decent pies in Klang Valley, so I’d definitely be revisiting the place again. A friendly reminder, do go there earlier if you do not want to get caught in the long queue.

One of the best pies I have ever tasted! They have unique flavours like chilli beef. The pies come with different toppings and they are peas, gravy and mash. They not only serve savoury pies, but also sweet pies for people with a sweet tooth. Examples are smores pie, gaveyard pie and so on. The price is affordable and the staff are very helpful and polite. The food comes fast and takeaways are allowed.

Before waffles became the new hype, pies dethroned burgers and took the Iron Throne. Located in Damansara Uptown, close to Tropicana City Mall, A Pie Thing is a newly launched pie selling place. Easy to spot(corner lot), but miserable when It comes to getting a parking spot. Thank you to waffles, the queue to get a seat is much shorter than before. But that doesn’t mean you can arrive fashionably(not really) late and expect to get a seat. Well you will get a seat but no pie for you. Business hours begin from 4:00pm onwards till they run out of pies(duh)! Ranging from savory to sweet pies, these guys came up with the best flavors there is to offer. You have your southern apple crumble pie, S’mores pie, and the ultimate Nutella pie. The best part is that all sweet pies are topped with the most perfectly scooped vanilla ice cream. My personal favorite is the Nutella.(RM9.90) There are combos available for the savory pies; you get to pick your topping and pie base. I went with pulled lamb and mashed green peas. Priced at RM15.90, it is definitely worth the splurge as I was left stuffed from the huge portion. Not quite a suitable place to have a decent conversation over dessert; the place is a little too noisy but service is efficient and quick!

To be honest, I wasn’t too excited about trying this place out with my friends because I have never been a fan of pies but I succumbed to peer pressure anyway. Despite all of the raving reviews, I still had my doubts. But it all changed when I dug into their signature pie, The Mashacre. Thick crust with the right texture and filled with delicious chunky and savory meat filling, I was a pie convert. Also, the pie was topped off with a side of melt-in-your-mouth mash potatoes — fluffy perfection. I ended up ordering another pie — a sweet one this time to try. I tried out their S’mores sweet pie and was delighted once again. Warm chunky crust on the outside and sweet sticky goodness on the inside! A Pie Thing made me a pie convert! Join the pie revolution!

Is it just me or are pie’s slowly becoming the new hot topic around the Klang Valley? Not too long ago, the mamak culture was undisputed among these parts, then came the coffee culture. Is the pie culture primed to wrestle away KL’s ever growing brand of trendy consumerists? Along with the moniker comes a severely pie centric artisanal café focusing on both a savory and confectionary variety of pies. Your pies can also be topped with a choice of hot steamy gravy, mashed potatoes and peas, which usually ensures me going for seconds. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to get a taste of their desert pies. But when I do get the chance, I’ve heard some positive feedback about their Smores pie.
