Recommended by a friend, we went for brunch at Nouveau 7 in last weekend. It is a newly opened bistro at 10 Boulevard. I guess not many still can’t find where is it. I recommended you to go there by Waze if you really don’t know where is it. Nouveau 7 is very easy to spot because it is facing the Sprint Highway. The owner is a very friendly and kind man. He told us a lot of cooking tips and materials they used for the food. Also, he introduced us different liquors. I seriously think he is a knowledgeable person, who is kind to share your his recipe. Meanwhile, he know how to enjoy life. Back to the food, since we were going in a group, we shared food with one another. The first was Bruchetta Platter, grilled french bread slice topped with tuna and onions, chicken and mango, salmon and pesto, tomatoes and onions. The bread was a little hard, yet crunchy. I tried the chicken and mango topping, it was slightly sourish and creamy with the minced chicken. Won’t forget to mention about its English Lamb Stew. If you don’t know it is lamb stew, you probably think it is beef. The meat was soft. Since it was cut into mini cubes, then slowly cooked with herbs and vegetable, its aroma was awesome. In Nouveau 7, you can also find Malaysian cuisine. It is difficult to find the heaven-tasted nasi lemak nowadays. I was surprise that Nouveau 7 serve the authentic nasi lemak. You definitely won’t think it was cooked by Chinese but with original Malay style. Overall, Nouveau 7 is one of my favorite restaurants now. I will definitely back for dining, maybe during my anniversary with my love. I am sure the upcoming experience is going to be wonderful too.

Nouveau 7 is a newly opened restaurant at 10 Boulevard. It’s fairly easy to spot the restaurant as it’s facing the Sprint Highway. Nouveau 7 is a bistro-pub restaurant serving proper food, coffee and cakes, and selection of liquors. Since we went in a big group, we had the chance to try most of their dishes. We started our meal with Bruschetta Platter, Tuna Quiche, Minestrone Soup, and Smoked Salmon Salad. The bruschetta platter came with 8 bruschetta with 4 different toppings. They were very generous with the toppings and my favourite was the smoked tomatoes. I could taste the sweetness of the tomatoes, but I felt the bread was a bit too hard. The Tuna Quiche was a decent dish. The pastry was buttery and crumbly and the fillings were flavourful. The potato gratin at the side was nice too — the potatoes were cooked perfectly and wasn’t too mushy. The Minestrone was another interesting dish too. It wasn’t too watery like the ones I’ve had elsewhere, instead the broth was thick and flavourful and I could taste the baked beans in it. I like the smoked salmon in the salad. I don’t usually fancy smoked salmon, but the ones at Nouveau 7 wasn’t too over-powering and paired very well with the crunchy lettuce. Among the main dishes we had, I like the Sweet and Sour Chicken Chop the most. The chicken was juicy and succulent, and the gravy had a perfect balance of sweet and sour. It was my first time enjoying a sweet and sour dish. The Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken was another decent dish too and the portion was quite big. The curry was thick and had a hint of coconut milk, the chicken was juicy and tender, and the rice was cooked well too. The Lamb Stew was think and flavourful, but the lamb wasn’t gamey enough. However, this is perfect if you prefer your lamb to be less gamey. We ended our lunch with 4 slices of cakes — Durian Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, Tiramisu, and Cheesecake. I love all of the cakes! I could taste the durian in the durian cheesecake and it’s soft; the carrot cake was crumbly and soft and the cream cheese wasn’t too sweet; the cheesecake was dense and cheesy; the tiramisu was added with a hint of rum but we could barely taste it. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Nouveau 7 a lot. They offer set lunch during weekdays. They are currently revamping the menu, so do drop by the restaurant to check out their food. They are a pork-free restaurant but they serve alcohol.
