I’ve been to the bee a few times now. I felt it’s a cosy place with nice music. My 1st time here was during my birthday and I just love how cosy and quite it is. Now that I work nearby I came over to try their lunch set. There are a few choices of pastas and burgers with a complimentary of drink you can choose. I tried their cheese burger. It come with some fries. The 1st time the patty was cook, but a little too raw for me as when I cut in the meat is still pinkish. After confirmation from the waiter it’s actually safe to eat, the waiter did offer to cooked it longer for me. Which is to my desired texture, fully cooked:) The taste was alright for a beef burger. For me it’s just another atas burger out there, almost as same as burger lab, burgertory… I then tried the turkey taco with is amazing. I love the mix of turkey meat, and the Veges and jalapeños and the sauce, it’s makes the combination so sour spicy with a kick! Overall it’s a nice place to hang out with friends for a cosy quiet afternoon

I would find The Bee a little over rated as many of my friends have told me that this is a nice place for food and drinks. Personally, I would rate them as just average for both. There’s nothing that stands out at The Bee as to others. Though I compliment their service for being good at taking care of their customers, and that is just that. They do have live bands performing every now and then. Though others places have that too but oh well, if you happened to be there, check them out for yourself.

The Bee is one of the more famous restaurants in Jaya One, and is possibly the only one that attracts basically anyone from any age group to go there too. There is nothing much to say about this particular restaurant, because all other reviews, from Unilocal or from other media, has talked about it, raved about it and glamorized its ambience and food. I concur, and I really like their pastas and burgers. I mean, come on, if their usual menu tastes this good, imagine their special menus that they come out once in a while? Damn. Do go here if you have a chance. If you don’t, try to get here too, because you will join the bandwagon and enjoy the ride as it steers you around with its amazing food and service.

I always thought The Bee is Plan B. If im not mistaken they are in the same group just the food they serve are different. In my honest opinion, I always though the Bee is a little more pricier than Plan B but they have my all time favourite burgers and chips and also exquisite starters that can make me drool! A common place for college students to hang out here during lunch hours, sometimes the place is even pack. But one thing I like about this branch besides the food is the service. They do things really efficiently from refilling your drinks to informing you how long more it takes until your dish arrives. So yeah, keeping up to date staffs, good food, some eye candies, what more you guys want?! :p

The first time when dining at The Bee was when I attended an event by Digi. Honest speaking, although I work at Jaya One, I didn’t know where is The Bee located until the time I went for the event. The café design of The Bee is the thing that attracted me the most. It look like the rural area. I was like peacefully enjoying my day at my backyard, yet, it is in a city. Sounds great? Compared to the branch at publika, The Bee at Jaya One isn’t too spacious. But if you ask which branch I love, I will say the one at Jaya one because of the lighting. For those who dine at The Bee Publika, you know it is quite dim. I personally don’t really like it. I prefer to have more lighting. And thus, I love The Bee Jaya One. The food is more on westernise cuisine. So, if you are seeking for western food, The Bee is a choice you can consider. The food are delightful and in big portion. However, the frying batter of the fish and chips are quite thick. I don’t really like that, to be honest. Overall, it was a pleasant dining at The Bee Jaya One. Check out this place when you are around Jaya One. It is opposite Wendy’s.

A common hang out spot among university students. There’s nothing bad about The Bee. The fries with garlic aioli for dipping is perfect for sharing. They have a good selection of cakes, and the coffee’s great! Not to forget the mouse based desserts that can cure a bad day. I personally loved the panna cotta and oreo cheese ones. Day time or night time, The Bee at Jaya One provides a casual and comfortable environment for its customers. The ambiance is casual enough for people to put down their phones and focus on the core purpose of why they came to The Bee in the first place, be it for assignments, work, or for some catching up. Surprise surprise, desserts, coffee, and snacks are not the only thing that is good at this friendly open door café. The red and white wine that they serve do have some quality to it: smooth with the right amount of bitterness to it.

The purveyor of all hipsters joint, The Bee started out as a coffee place at Jaya One. Their outpost in Publika turns itself into a music/art venue which plays host to many indie band performances, comedy nights etc. Décor, as you’d expected from a ‘hipster’ joint is heavy on the raw industrial look and wooden furniture. Yet it’s still a popular hang out spot for college kids and young ‘uns who come here for coffee and their fuss-free meals and young office workers who come here for drinks. Whether it is a restaurant or a bar, The Bee is mediocre at its best.

Situated in a cosy corner behind Brussels Beer Café, I like how the café’s interior and exterior gives off a relaxed and open environment, offering seats outdoor and indoor. I can see why The Bee is popular with lunch goers. Their lunch specials are set at RM20 with a choice a main and a drink. I decided to go with a Cili Padi Aglio Olio while my companion chose the lunch special, quinoa salad. While waiting, you can browse through the café as they have a cake stand and an ice cream cooler to entice you. Not only that, I learned that they actually have a string of events all through the year. Mostly consisting of indie bands and comedy acts, they also have other events worthwhile checking out like the Whisky Festival. Back to the food, when it arrived, I was surprised to see the portion was pretty generous. I personally love that they serve it with angel hair pasta as the thinner noodles holds the spicy and savoury flavour really well. The quinoa salad my friend had was crunchy and refreshing, perfect for a light afternoon meal outdoors. Overall, I would say the food was good but not exceptional. Giving in to temptation, I decided to try some ice cream. At The Bee, they stock the famous Malaysian made ice cream, The Last Polka. I chose the teh tarik flavour. While not as smooth and creamy as your traditional brands, the flavour is as close to the original as it gets. I feel a long trip here is not worthwhile but if anyone is in the neighbourhood, go ahead and give it a try. As for myself, I would probably come back again with a group of friends to catch an evening show and just relax.

The Bee at Jaya One is a cosy and rustic place that has held a lot of live performances, and it has created a platform for local artist to show their talent. My colleague when the during our lunch, and I ended up with their Cili Padi Aglio Olio. Let me just say this — it’s spicy, but satisfying! The spaghetti was al denti, however the only downside was the dish had a little bit too much oil in it. To have the extra oomph, you can add tiger prawns for an extra RM12. Apart from my lunch experience, I actually went back again with Joe and we ordered a Beef Bacon Quesadillas to share. The grilled flour tortilla had a little crunch, and I love the paring of melted cheese + beef bacon + jalapeño. It’s savoury, meaty and slightly spicy at the same time. For a small eater, it would be advisable to share; after all, it’s stated as «Sharing Plates» on the menu. I was excited to try their Churros but at the same time did not have much high hopes on it. Why? That’s because I’ve had too many bad churros! I wouldn’t say the ones at The Bee were excellent, but at least they were served fresh(meaning you can’t taste the«oil» in the churros) and we opted for the chocolate sauce — did not want something too sweet. Would I be going back to The Bee again? Of course! However, I would probably only go there when I’m not too tight on my budget.

So I’ve been to this place a handful of times and while it is a perfectly decent hangout spot, I still think that there are bunch of things that can be worked on. It’s one of those places where every time I go there, I find something to moan about but I still go back anyway. The pros of The Bee is that it works as a great place to get a dose of live music. Local and international indie acts tend to use this as the venue of choice and you can get your hands on the café’s monthly events calendar to book your tickets in advance. I also really like the music selection that the café plays. Half my tags on Shazam come from this place so if you like the whole indie vibe, this is a good place to build a playlist you can use to impress people who will always be just a little bit cooler than you. With regards to the menu, it has an extensive list of main courses, desserts drinks and some pretty interesting cocktail concoctions. Expect to pay relatively steep prices for just slightly above average food. The pastas aren’t much to shout about but the burgers are decent. The last time I was here, I ordered the beef meatballs in spicy onion gravy, it was pretty tasty but the portion was depressing, especially for the RM18 I paid. Still bitter. Chances are I’ll be here again next week. I hate my willowy principles.

If you love burgers and you are looking for a place to hang out in Petaling Jaya try out The BEE! The interior is nothing fancy, but the food is really good! You get drinks for a good price and my most favourite thing about this restaurant that they have some amazing artist come and perform live there! We encountered the most amazing performance and it has definitely made our evening! So before going make sure to check out if there’s anything special happening, you might be surprised! During weekdays it is not very crowded, so if you’re looking for some buzz I would recommend some restaurants and bars around it, but during the weekends it’s a place to be!
