The restaurant serves Teo Chew porridge at the night, which is the main reason I frequent this place at night. Parking is a breeze at night and the evening air is very cooling in the area as well. The place is convenient and comfortable for dinner at PJ Uptown at night. During the day though, parking is tragic. I do not want to even consider driving in the area to be honest because you will be almost certain to be stuck in a wait. I don’t fancy the the food that much. The nearest alternative, Teo Chew porridge in SS2 taste much better. Though they have the basics dishes, they lack flavour and varieties. Teo Chew styled porridge will be eaten together with plain porridge, hence it’s very important that the side dishes is rich and full flavoured to complement it well. Eating here feels rather boring and bland to be honest and I feel there is still much room for improvement.

Restoran Koon Kee is actually a food court but its wan tan mee stall is the main reason why people flock the restaurant. The wan tan mee served here comes with springy noodles with the perfect texture and consistency which are evident through each bite. The char siew is also very juicy and succulent, but could do better if cut in thicker slices. Besides this dish, there are also hawker stalls selling siew yoke rice, «economical» rice. as well as teoh chew porridge with a wide selection of side dishes to choose from. Good place for a quick, reasonably priced, and convenient meal.

There’s only one thing I order here and that is their wan tan Mee. It is by far the best wan tan Mee I’ve ever eaten. Take my word for it. Their noodle is unlike any other ones I’ve tasted. Their standard wan tan Mee comes with wan tan on the side in a bowl of soup and you can either choose to have it with chicken feet or char Siew. There are other stalls around here but I’ve not tasted any of them. The wan tan Mee stall opens around 1030 in the morning till about 1 or so. They are sold out quite early in the afternoon so do go early for it. Avoid the peak hours from 12−1pm. Parking would be tough and getting a table would take quite some time too!

Another branch of the famous Koon Kee Wantan Mee in KL, this one is Damansara Uptown so you don’t have to go so far down to KL to get a good Wantan Mee. I’ve came here a couple of times and they open only for breakfast and lunch. The wantan mee here is really good, its springy and they mix it with just the right amount of seasoning. You can order either their Char Siew Wantan Mee, or Steamed Chicken Wantan mee, and even just plain old Wantan + Wantan Mee. They also have the Mushroom Chicken Leg as well if you prefer. Definitely a great place to eat at but only trouble here is parking as Damansara Uptown has been known for the pain looking for a parking.
