A place where you’ll find authentic Nyonya cuisines. My parents brought my siblings and I here for dinner once and we never stopped visiting since. The location of the place is quite secluded from the main road, it still tend to be crowded on weekend nights. We had to wait for 45 minutes once for our dishes to arrive, but let me tell you it was worth it. My favorite dishes was Deep Friend Honey Squid and Crispy Brinjals. I’m not a fan of brinjals and almost never ate them in my life, but it is exceptional here, you can take my word for that. I also tried the Prawns in Lemak, and it was awesome. It was very flavored and is the representation of any Nyonya dish. Another nice thing about this place is the live singer on some nights(I’m not sure which). You get to enjoy classic oldies throughout the night, even after you finish your meal. You can also request for any songs and maybe show off some talent by singing yourself too!

Bibichik is a Nyonya Restaurant that my family visits whenever there’s a certain occasion as we really enjoy dining there. It’s a very family oriented restaurant as every time we dine there, there will also be several other families as well. We really like their Curry Chicken — it is a must try. Their other dishes are good as well, like their Honey Sotong as well as their Crispy Brinjal. They have a selected few recommended dishes but you can also ask them to recommend something based on your preferences. They have a live singer as well on the weekends at night(if I’m not wrong); he’ll usually sing songs from the oldies genre — which I enjoy very much — or you can suggest a song for him to sing or even sing it yourself!

Bibi Chik is nyonya restaurant that has been serving authentic nyonya cuisine for years. They are located along the row of shop lots of Lobsterman in SS2, behind the electrical shop. Although the restaurant is located as a less busy street of SS2, this has never stop customers from dropping by to try their dishes. The interior is very traditional and they decorated with some Peranakan elements. If you are looking for some simple authentic Nyonya food, this is the place to be. One of my favourite would be the Chicken Pongteh. The meat was tender, and the carrots and potatoes were stewed till soft. If you fancy something with more crunch and texture, then the Deep Fried Squid with Honey would be perfect for you. The squids were fried till crunchy and coated with honey and sesame. You can eat it with rice or eat it as a snack on its own, and both ways would be delicious too especially the tentacles part. In Bibi Chik, they do not serve the food in big portion so it’s absolutely fine to order a few more dishes to share. This is good too because you’ll get to try out and enjoy more food from the menu.
