This is the place where university students will go for supper and the perfect place to have chit chat in the midnight! The food is awesome and the seller always have a good memory of what you ordered and how much each person paid and give you back the change individually.

This is my first visit to the famous Bumbung Nasi Lemak, was very excites because my first two attempts was unlucky as they were closed. As mentioned in many other reviews, there wasn’t any«bumbung»(roof) along the alleyway, it’s interesting to see two rows of tables lined up along the way from front to the end of alley. Surprisingly the place is not as dirty as I thought usually how a back lorong looks like(or smell like). Read many reviews before this, so wanted to try the nasi lemak ayam goreng because everyone said that the fried chicken is the must-try. I like the fried chicken too, its deep fried and very crunchy! But when I almost finish eating I found that the middle part of chickem drumstick is slightly undercooked(maybe next time should try chicken wing instead). Didn’t get to try the mee goreng which looks good on the next table. Despite the popular fried chicken is a bit undercooked, I’ll give a try to visit again as the fried chicken really taste good.

Yes, their stall is set up under a roof, that’s surprisingly not a surprise. I patron this place mostly for a quick fix, as you get your Nasi Lemak pretty fast here without losing on quality. Rich and fragrant coconut infused rice and crispy and juicy chicken thigh– life’s two best friends. That’s what I think about everytime I have a meal here, it really can’t be helped. Location wise, well, it’s a street stall, so you can’t expect much comfort. Especially when it rains or when it gets way too crowded. But you know what they say, as long as there’s good food, I’ll be there.

As the name suggests, Nasi Lemak Bumbung is a small stall set-up under a bumbung(roof) next to the Maybank in Seapark. There is something(possibly more than just how brilliant it tastes) that keeps people coming, even in the wee hours of the day. So much so that the stall owners have extended their tables and chairs into the alley next to Maybank, and onto the next connecting building. Most nights, it is so crowded that people dine in the dark, guided only by the dimly lit street lights. One of the main reasons I can come up with as to why this place is so good is i. because of the fragrant coconut milk-infused rice ii. the sambal which carries a perfect balance of sweet and spiciness and iii. the fried chicken, beautifully coated with a magical batter and fried to perfection. The best part of the meal is that a plate of the nasi lemak and a drink costs no more than RM7. A no-brainer decision, especially one in pursuit of nasi lemak virtuosity.

Best time to be here? MIDNIGHT :) or maybe after any clubbing night out or just a supper time with your gang of friends. Well that’s the whole point of being happening and why this place is famous for it! They occupied the whole corridor between their shop lot and the next. It’s really smart for them to think of it this way to expand their capacity to house more people. They even filled the back alley with bright and brand new lights. It’s so much better than sitting at dark alleys. Their famous nasi lemak ayam goreng is the bomb. You should totally go for it. SCREWDIET and say yes to NASILEMAK for maybe one night :) Wouldn’t hurt much hahah Just go to the gym within the next few days! It will be weird for one to go there and not have nasi lemak. Oh come on, you are at «Nasi Lemak Bumbung». Not«Restoran Bumbung». One thing that I find can be improved is that their allocation of staffs during peak hours. If you are seated at the end of the road, you will have to put in «EXTRA» effort to get noticed. It’s either you do stupid things, or go straight up to them to place your order. Well, hope you’ll enjoy this place. Not the fanciest place to be at, but definitely more cost-saving and well they open till late :)

Is it in the middle of the night again and you’re suddenly craving for some delicious, fresh, hot, aromatic nasi lemak with that shamaaayyzing crunchy fried chicken thigh on the side and a sunny side up to top it all off? Well then, head off to Nasi Lemak Bumbung– doi! RM5 will get you a plate of fragrant coconut rice with all that I have mentioned above(with the sambal, peanuts and anchovies of course). I like to have my nasi lemak with a lot of peanuts which they don’t usually serve you with a lot of but hey, no worries! Just ask for more or anything else and they will cater to your needs– swiftly at that. I am horrible with spicy food so I tend to not take a lot of sambal with my nasi lemak but the sambal here is sweet! Still spicy, but sweet which gives it its own unique taste. Also for a place that is called Nasi Lemak Bumbung(Roof), don’t expect yourself to find a place with any shelter as you will be sitting in a long(well-lit) alley outdoors under… no roof. This is what’s great about this place though, is that it’s just nice to go out in the middle of the night to chill in a back alley, chomping on nasi lemak with your best friends for cheap! Not everybody gets to tell their friends that– ha!

I never knew about this hidden gem until my boyfriend told me about much he loved the place during his university years. «Hah? Roof? Nasi Lemak Roof? What are you on about?» This super specialized Indian stall serves only Nasi Lemak and Mee Goreng at night with the best tasting fried chicken ever to grace your plate of aromatic coconut milk rice. Moist and tender on the inside, crunchy layer of crumbs covering the chicken skin, oh la la. The sambal is sweet and spicy enough. As I’m not really a spicy eater, I was glad that I could enjoy the sambal here and not be in immense pain afterwards. There is no place else I know that serves all that nasi lemak goodness for only RM4.50PLUS chicken in KL /PJ area. CHEAPPPPPPPPPP. Service is also fast, within 5 minutes of sitting down we are already eating(2 pax) The long alley way filled with long rows of makeshift tables and chairs did not help start a good initial impression. I saw a few cockroaches crowding about in the streets near where we parked, like they were having a secret cult meeting, but so far I have never spotted one in that alley way. Nor have I seen any rats to date. There are quite a number of tabby cats though which may explain the absence of pests. To be safe, I would lift my legs off the ground and keep it against the table leg. I’m so glad I managed to somewhat get over being a princess about it and just sat down for the challenge. Once I sat down and have time to look around, the alley, there is actually much to be fascinated by! Firstly, it is actually quite breezy. There is also big fans installed every few feet, along with potted plants that are purposely placed along the alley to help create a laid back atmosphere with gentle breeze. Each time I’ve been there since there is always a crowd. However turnover is also very fast, partly due to the prompt and systematic service, that you are almost never left waiting for a seat. Only thing is you may have to walk deeper into the alley to get one. Lastly, good luck if it starts to rain.

You have to bring you own roof if you’re thinking to eat here. Okay, I’m just kidding. You don’t have to worry as they already provide their own ‘bumbung’. It’s not about the bumbung that we want to talk about. It’s about the Nasi Lemak. The Nasi Lemak was absolutely delicious. The coconut rice is rich, not too dry or wet. Just perfect. The sambal paste is mild. I’m not a person that could withstand hot and spicy stuff so this kind of sambal paste is perfect for me. The fried chickens were well seasoned and fried. Could smell the herbs even for a few meters away. The fried egg was just nice. It’s hot. Not some kind of fried egg that serves cold and not attractive at all. Hey, Nasi Lemak lovers! This is a place that I would recommend for you guys and remember, please bring your own roof. Okay, just kidding about the last part … again.

The never ending debate of which stall has the best Nasi Lemak Ayam is one that will go on for centuries and this stall is one that some claim to be the best(but in the end, its all down to personal preference). I’ve been here several times as I live sort of nearby and I must agree that their Nasi Lemak Ayam is quite good. However, the thing that I have to point out is that the quality of the food definitely dropped between the first time i visited and the last time I visited. And this can be understood from the increasing number of orders they have to serve out every night. But this is what a truly good restaurant is supposed to do right? — strive to maintain the quality of food — unless they value quantity over quality.

Due to the nature of the opening hours of this place. I have only been here during supper time until recently, I had my dinner there with a couple of friends. The place is mostly heavily packed up to the sidewalk and the alley way. If you do go in large groups then it would be a complete hassle trying to get a long table for your group. But if there’s only 4 of you, it would not take too long for your gang to find a spot to sit. I’m quite impress that the waiters are always on the look out to service you. The drinks and food would come in a jiffy. Nasi Lemak in general would take less than a minute to be served. I would dub this place to be a great spot for anyone who wants to have good local Malaysian food on the cheap side.

It is true when they say the dirtiest places in Malaysia serve the best food of all. So apparently, I was dragged by the fiancé to eat their nasi lemak after not having eaten for months. My thoughts about this place remain the same. I super like their nasi, fried chicken and their own made sambal. The taste of all three are pungent and they come in well when you mix them up and eat. Two plates of nasi lemak made my night happy. :). The unsightly view of roaches did eek me but it won’t stop me from returning!

I must say I’m in love with their Nasi Lemak, always! For me, the beauty of Nasi Lemak is defined by its simplicity of taste. It is not a Nasi Lemak stall that gives you side dishes from A-Z like spicy squid, chicken curry and all sorts of cooked vegetable. Fragrant rice and its must-have toppings like cucumbers, peanuts and anchovies. That’s all you need to enjoy a good Nasi Lemak. You may add fried egg(very juicy sunny side up) and fried chicken. Fried chicken is well fried, not burned and not too oily. Just nice for a minor oily-food-phobic like me. The reason for you not to go? Because it is too mainstream? Don’t give yourself an excuse, come and have a try!

Supper Spot! This popular supper destination can be found next to Maybank in Seapark. Tables and chairs line the alley, filled with many locals devouring their hot plates of nasi lemak. They nasi lemak here is one of the best in the area and is probably the cheapest. A plate of nasi lemak and fried chicken will cost you only RM4.50. One plate is never enough. The only downside of this supper favourite is that the seating area is in a back alley and the surroundings are abit dirty.

The love for nasi lemak is a never ending feeling and the quest to look for the ‘best’ nasi lemak is something that I strive to do in my lifetime. Do you believe the saying, «The dirtiest restaurant/eatery serve the best tasting food?» I certainly do! Nasi Lemak Bumbung at Taman Paramount is not a place for the hygienists and weak stomachs as they serve their food at back alley of a row of shop lots. They pre-prepare drinks and placed them in trays on the road pavement. Who knows what creepy crawlies may just take a dip. In the years I have frequent the nasi lemak joint, I have never encounter such predicament. Without a doubt, the nasi lemak ayam is the bomb. The succulent spiced fried chicken, the sweet smell the pandan flavored rice, their awesome sambal and a fried egg to top it, is a mouth watering experience one should find hard to forget! Their sambal is catered for those who can’t deal with spicy taste and those who are not feeling for nasi lemak(how dare you?!) can opt for their indo Mee which is also one of the best I have tried. They are open to late at night, it is usually packed and a place where clubbers come to sober up after a night fun of party and drinks. If you have not been here, I suggest you make a trip tonight and be blessed with one of the best nasi lemak in the Klang Valley!

Nasi Lemak Bumbung is a local hotspot serving Malaysia’s favourite dish, Nasi Lemak. It’s unlike the usual café or restaurant, the ambience is plain to put it simple. What you have is plastic tables and chairs scattered along a back alley. Don’t get iffy though, it isn’t as dirty as you would imagine. What I particularly enjoy of this place is the standardisation of food. There is no need for you to place an order, the food will practically be in front of you before you even realise. Coconut milk is added to the rice, it gives it a pleasing aroma. The fried chicken can be undercooked at times. But I usually have no qualms with my chicken. If it’s undercooked, you can just send it back. No problem! You also get sunny side up egg that gives you that yolky taste to the rice. The sambal sauce here is sweet but it still has that spicy kick that’s just tingles your taste buds. Overall, Nasi Lemak Bumbung is a popular hotspot that I feel Nasi Lemak enthusiasts should try. It closes really late and is usually cramped up on most nights. But if you happen to pass by, you should definitely have a taste.

Bored of fast food and looking for a quick hunger fix? This would be a good option. Take a seat and place your order, and the hot and aromatic Nasi Lemak with friend chicken and a sunny side up served in front of you in a jiffy. I swear that evening I was there, it was faster than me ordering in KFC. Please don’t mind where it’s located though, an authentic street food should not belong to fancy restaurants. The seats are located at a open air back alley at Seapark and it’s always clean and cooling, so no worries about hygiene there. The main highlight of the place is their Nasi Lemak. The rice has a strong coconut scent and the chicken is soft and juicy enough, however I feel it could use more seasoning and crispiness to it. One thing that won me hands down is the consistency of their sunny side up. Every time I order it it, the egg whites are tenderly cooked with the golden yellow yolk still runny. Mix the thick yellow yolk with your rice and the special sweet and sourish sambal they serve it with, and you’ll have yourself the perfect place of Nasi Lemak in in PJ. If you love everything mixed with yellow runny goodness, please visit this place!

There’s been a debate over which place has the best nasi lemak in the whole pj & I’ll definitely tell u confidently that this is by far the best I had. Despite the open air surrounding of this place, where tables were laid on streets in between shop lots, you would be suprise that this ordinary looking nasi lemak contains so much awesomeness in it. On a normal free nights I would love to gather some of my friends & had dinner or supper here while busy chatting. I loved how the fried chicken here taste, a heavy strong spice crispy chicken, combined with a sunny side egg & rice cooked with santan fragrance, last but not least a nice sambal to spice things out a little, I would say that they perfectly balanced each other out. I had tried other nasi lemak but the one serving at here surely craves to come back for more. For those of you who was always thinking of getting something to eat & chit chat around on a late night this place would definitely seems to be a perfect choice. One thing that I have been amazed for quite long time is the staff working here. They are super fast & each of them possess high memory brain power. We tried placing an order of 12 servings with different drinks & the staff are able to placed every food & drinks accurately in front of us!
